Chapter 1036
“Fine. In that case…”
Frank turned to Helen as they planned how they would get Clark and Gable back to Laneville.
That was when Luna suddenly shrieked, “Die!!!”
“Gurk-!”
Frank turned, and was left gaping in shock.
Luna had picked up a machete from god-knows-where and had swung it at Clark’s neck while Frank’s back was turned.
Even Clark could not react in time.
Blood welled up in his mouth as he stared in disbelief at the wheezing Luna, even as she hacked off three quarters of his neck. His eyes widened and twitched endlessly, but he was clearly going to die.
“What are you doing?!” Frank bellowed-he had just decided to take the brothers back to Laneville, only for Luna to murder Clark!
Luna was still wheezing, but soon dropped on her rump as she laughed maniacally.
“Hahaha! Serves you right! Serves you right for fucking lying to me!” Luna kept cursing at Clark even as he lay dead, his eyes wide opened.
While Frank remained silent, Gable panicked at his brother’s death and crawled toward Frank despite his pain. “Please, Mr. Lawrence! Save me!”
“Luna Lane!” Frank bellowed, frowning even as he moved to stand in front of Gable since he could not let Luna kill Gable too. “Do you know what you’re doing?!”
“Of course! Luna sprang to her feet and bellowed back at Frank. “They deserved it! They lied to me! And don’t you dare get in my way when you didn’t save me just now!”
Frank glowered right then. “I alone get to decide their fate. And you’d be dead if not for me, understand?!”
Luna simply laughed. “If not for you?! That cheek of yours! You told Uncle Clark to kill me!”
“What an idiot…” Frank was speechless.
Luna would know better… that was, if she had a brain.
Still, he was not bothered to stoop to her level. He struck her in the nape with the side of his palm, knocking her out.
He put Gable in his own car while shoving Luna into the trunk and drove toward Laneville.
As Helen followed in her own car, Frank called Trevor Zurich over the phone. “Send someone over for a cleanup. I just dealt with some trash.”
“Trash, Mr. Lawrence?” Trevor did a double take and frowned. “You don’t mean…
“Yeah.” Frank remained impassive. “They burnt down the farm. You can take care of their bodies.”
“Hahaha!” Trevor laughed in delight on the other end. “I knew you wouldn’t disappoint me, sir! You’ve really returned the favor… Don’t worry, my men will be right there!”
