The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 937

Chapter 937

“Mr. Youngblood, you came to visit me again. It seems that you have encountered something difficult, right?” asked Kurt with a smile.

Jonathan’s eyes darkened, and he said, “You already knew that Mr. Smuckler’s wife, Kaylie Cook, is my

mother.”

Jonathan never believed that there would be too many coincidences in the world. Many of them were just planned by someone deliberately.

Rosalie was placed in Lofbury by Kurt back then and got acquainted with Connor and Kaylie naturally. In Jonathan’s opinion, it seemed that someone was behind all that.

Hearing that, Kurt did not look surprised at all. “It seems that you have found your mother. I did know who your mother was long ago. Not only do I know it, but also Mr. Leonard Youngblood.”

Jonathan instantly narrowed his eyes. He mused, “Grandpa… also knew that?”

“Mr. Youngblood, you’d been looking for the whereabouts of that woman all these years, and Mr. Leonard Youngblood was also investigating it. Think about it. How could he let her go? But when we found out where she was, Mr. Leonard Youngblood was almost dying. So, he left this matter to me to handle.”

“Then why didn’t you say it back then and beat around the bush for so long?” asked Jonathan.

“With that, I naturally hope you can understand that even if you love a person deeply, she may not be able to care about you just as you wish her to.” Kurt seemed to have foreseen what had happened that day.

Jonathan pursed his thin lips tightly.

Kurt took the initiative and said, “If Rosalie died back then, I would naturally tell you about your mother. But she’s still alive, so I want to let you know that loving someone too much will only hurt you. You’re the head of the Youngblood family and can get any woman you want. You don’t have to focus on a woman!”

Jonathan said coldly, “Whether I focus on a woman or not is not your decision to make for me. You’re really capable of fooling me around.”

“Mr. Youngblood, I just hope you can understand that feelings are nothing but meaningless. The Youngblood family is the only thing you can really hold in your hands. As long as the Youngblood family stands still, you’ll always have power and wealth without fear of losing anything!” responded Kurt.

Jonathan sneered, and his laughter was full of mockery. He thought, “Without fear of losing anything? Even if I have everything, the fear doesn’t diminish!”

Jonathan’s voice was laced with a sense of threat. “In the eyes of you and my grandfather, the Youngblood family is more important than anything. But for me, it isn’t a big deal. How about you tell me all your schemes right now? Otherwise, if I find out that you have other plans in the future, I’ll definitely let you go and accompany my grandfather! Maybe before going over, you can directly watch the collapse of Youngblood Group!”

Jonathan was always good at scheming others but had never been plotted against like that.

At that moment, it seemed that Kurt was plotting against him on the surface. In fact, it was Leonard.

Even if Leonard had died, he was still influencing and controlling Jonathan’s life.

“Mr. Youngblood, one day, you’ll realize what I say is right. The love you imagine is just self-deception. Do you want to repeat the same mistake as your father?” asked Kurt.

Jonathan stood up, ignored Kurt’s words, and turned around before leaving the room. He had asked everything he wanted to ask that day.

After going out of prison, Jonathan got in the car.

The driver in the front asked, “Mr. Youngblood, are you going back to the Youngblood Residence?”

“No, go to the old residence,” said Jonathan. The old residence was rented by Lucian and Kaylie when he was a child.

After Lucían died, the house was bought by Leonard.

Leonard bought the house, and everything in it remained unchanged. Leonard did that merely because

he wanted Jonathan to remember everything that had happened back then. Leonard wanted Jonathan to remember how Lucian died and how he was abandoned by Kaylie. The car slowly drove toward the direction of the old residence, and Jonathan closed his

eyes again. He thought, “Self-deception? Would my feelings, like Father’s in the end, merely be wishful thinking on my part?”

Rosalie returned to the Youngblood residence, but Jonathan did not return. When she dialed his number, his phone was already switched off.

She wondered where Jonathan was. Rosalie was anxious but could not get anything from Carlos after asking him. When Rosalie questioned Gary, Gary could not give Rosalie any answer.

When the children came back, Rosalie forced a smile and pretended that nothing happened.

When it was time for dinner, Jonathan had not come back yet. Jennifer asked curiously, “Where is Daddy? Won’t Daddy come back for dinner today?”

“He’s busy with work today and will come back late. We’ll have dinner first,” said Rosalie.

Jennifer did not doubt that. She only insisted on leaving some dishes for Jonathan. If he returned home and was hungry, he could have some food. Meanwhile, a trace of doubt flashed across Guillermo’s eyes.

As for Felix, he lowered his head and ate quietly as if it had nothing to do with him.

After all, Felix was merely an outsider. Even though he lived in the Youngblood residence at that moment, he still felt out of place.

Felix knew that he was only Jennifer’s toy. A toy could be thrown away when its owner grew tired of playing with it.

However, Felix could not help but hope Jennifer would not get tired of playing that quickly and be interested in him longer.

Felix seemed to like the feeling of being around Jennifer.

However, Felix did not understand the kind of affection he was experiencing at a young age.

At night, Jennifer quickly fell asleep with Felix.

Although Rosalie did not project the grudges of the previous generation on the children, she still felt that it was inappropriate for Jennifer to sleep with Felix, who was not related to Jennifer by blood.

After all, in Rosalie’s opinion, she should cultivate gender awareness in children of that age.

However, when she mentioned that to Jonathan, he did not care much and said, “If you want a child to be uninterested in a toy as soon as possible, let her play with it as much as she can. When she feels bored, her interest will naturally disappear.”

Rosalie said, “But Felix is not a toy.”

“But now he’s just a new and interesting toy for Jen,” remarked Jonathan.
