The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 899

Chapter 899

“Don’t take gastric medicine!” Rosalie said hurriedly.

Lillian looked at her best friend with a puzzled look on her face. “I can’t take gastric medicine? Then what do I take?”

Rosalie pursed her lips and looked at her friend with a slightly hesitant gaze. “Have you been, uh… intimate with anyone recently?”

Lillian was stunned. After about ten seconds, she finally realized what her friend had just said. Her pale face turned red all of a sudden…

Rosalie quickly said, “I… I didn’t mean anything else by that. I was just worried that if… If you’re truly pregnant, then it’s probably not a good idea to take medicine recklessly.”

Lillian looked at Rosalic, then at her flat belly. She wondered if she was truly pregnant.

If she was pregnant, then the baby could only be Callum’s!

But if she truly was pregnant, then it had to be some sort of joke.

In the past, she used to hope that she could get pregnant with Callum’s child. After all, she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him back then. But now, if she was truly pregnant with Callum’s child, it would only complicate things between them!

She finally set clear boundaries between Callum and herself. “But now… What’s the meaning of this?” she thought.

Looking at her friend’s behavior, Rosalie didn’t need anyone to tell her that Lillian might indeed be pregnant.

“Is the baby Callum’s?” she asked.

Lillian smiled bitterly and looked up at Rosalie. “It’s funny, isn’t it? When you sincerely want something, you don’t get it. But when you don’t want it anymore, it falls right onto your lap.”

“Let’s go get a checkup. It may not be the case,” Rosalie said.

“I know.” Lillian said, “But… If I truly am pregnant, then… What should I do?”

“Is it truly impossible for you to be with Callum anymore?” Rosalie asked.

Lillian sighed. “If I wanted to be with him, I wouldn’t have rejected him in the past.”

Of course, Rosalie knew what Lillian was concerned about. It had always been difficult for outsiders to intervene in relationships.

“Lillian, no matter what decision you make, I will be on your side,” Rosalie said. “If you want to give birth to the baby, then I will be the baby’s godmother. I’ll help you raise the baby. If you… don’t want this baby, then I will accompany you to your operation!”

As a mother of three children, Rosalie understood what it felt like to be a mother. There was a strong bond between her and the child in her belly.

Moreover, Callum was the man Lilliani once loved.

But… If Lillian was seriously going to abort the baby, Rosalie would still stay with her. As long as Lillian had made the decision after careful consideration, instead of on impulse, Rosalie would always face it with Lillian, no matter the situation.

Lillian looked at her friend in front of her. She felt moisture in her eyes. “Thank you, Rosalie!”

After coming out of Rosalie’s ward, Lillian went to the gynecology department and had her blood drawn.

The blood test report would be released in an hour. But in that hour, Lillian felt as if she had just gone through a lifetime.

She was nervous, uneasy, and confused. She didn’t even know what kind of decision she should make once the least favorable situation became true.

She had always been a decisive person, but now, she was hesitating.

An hour later, when Lillian saw the data on the blood test report, her heart sank. She had researched about it, so she knew that the numbers of the data at that moment meant that she was… pregnant!

She couldn’t believe that she was seriously pregnant, and the baby was Callum’s too!

Lillian went to the outpatient clinic in a daze, handing the report to the doctor. After answering a few questions, Lillian learned that she was around four weeks pregnant by then.

“You’re in the first trimester of your pregnancy, so you have to come here every other day for blood tests. If the data gets better, there won’t be any problems,” the doctor said.

Lillian was stunned. “Then what if it gets worse?”

“If it gets worse, you may need to get an injection or take some medicine if you want to keep the baby,”

the doctor said.

For a moment, Lillian didn’t know whether she should hope for the data to get better or worse.

Two days later, when Lillian got the blood test report again, she simply watched as the doctor said to her with a smile, “The data looks good. The baby seems to be doing quite well at this point…”

Hearing the doctor’s words, Lillian suddenly felt relieved.

It was not until then that she realized that in her subconscious mind, she hoped the child would be fine. After leaving the hospital, Lillian drove to the White Maple Group’s office building in Strico without realizing it.

When she came back to her senses, she realized that there was another car in front of her. The other car was trying to get out, but because her car had stopped right at the exit of the underground garage, the other car was stuck there.

Lillian hurriedly tried to back the car up, but when she inadvertently caught a glimpse of the figure sitting in the rear seat of the other car, her hand trembled. Instead of reversing, her car had scratched the other

car.

Fortunately, she had hurriedly stepped on the brakes. If not, she might have rammed right into the other

car.

Lillian felt her body breaking out in a cold sweat. Her hand almost subconsciously touched her abdomen, as if to protect the baby in her stomach.

She looked at her hand in a daze. She thought, “Am I… hoping that nothing bad happens to the baby? Could it be that I want this baby to live?”

Just then, the driver of the other car had already gotten out of the car. He walked up to Lillian’s car and knocked on the door.

Lillian hurriedly opened the door and realized that she recognized the driver as well. Back when she was surrounded by reporters, Callum had pulled her into his car. The driver back then seemed to be the same one standing in front of her right now.

“Ms. Quinn, your car scratched Mr. White’s car,” the driver said respectfully to Lillian.

“Oh, yes… I think it did. Um… Do we call the traffic police? I’ll take full responsibility for the accident,” Lillian hurriedly said.

“If you want to take full responsibility, Ms. Quinn, then you’ll have to compensate for the car damage. I wonder if your insurance will be enough to cover that,” the driver said.

“What? Is the compensation… very high?” Lillian asked. Although Callum’s cars were all very expensive luxury cars, her car insurance covered up to 100 thousand dollars. That should be enough to compensate for a scratch.

However, the driver’s next words almost caused Lillian to faint.

The driver said, “Ms. Quinn, although the car damage has not been specifically assessed yet, I think it will exceed 200 thousand dollars. Is your insurance claim enough to cover that, Ms. Quinn?”

“200 thousand dollars?” Lillian felt like she was about to faint. “Is Callum’s car made of diamonds or something? It’s just a scratch, but I have to pay 200 thousand dollars for that?” It was a very light scratch,
