The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 890

Chapter 890

“Forgotten memories would be remembered one day. Jon might’ve forgotten about me, but he is gradually recalling our past. Calvin, I can’t hold on. Hurry…”

Rosalie’s voice became increasingly strained. Seeing that Calvin didn’t seem to be reaching for her wrist, she glanced at Zekiah, who was lying unconscious nearby. Gritting her teeth, she extended her other hand, grabbing onto Calvin’s hand with both hands.

However, this caused her body to lean further over the collapsing edge. If another explosion occurred here, she might fall too.

Calvin was shocked by Rosalie’s actions. “Do you know what you’re doing?”

“I do,” she said, her forehead covered in a layer of sweat. “Calvin, you saved me. I have no reason not to save you. If I let go now, I’ll never forgive myself.”

Sweat trickled down her cheek and fell onto his face.

It was the same thing years ago when she had pulled him up like this, enduring the hardship to save him.

After all these years, she hadn’t changed.

When Jonathan and his men rushed up the mountain, they saw Rosalie desperately holding onto Calvin’s hand. Half of her body was dangerously close to the edge, and she could fall at any

moment.

In an instant, Jonathan felt a sharp pain in his chest.

There was no time to dwell on it. He rushed forward, wrapping his arm around Rosalie’s waist and gripping Calvin’s wrist with his other hand.

“Jon!” Rosalie exclaimed, her voice filled with joy and relief.

He had arrived, and that brought her a sense of security.

Jonathan’s men quickly pulled Calvin up.

Among them, there was also a small figure.

Guillermo hurried to where the unconscious Zekiah lay and struggled to pick him up. “Mommy, why is Zeki still asleep? Is he unconscious from an injury?”

He noticed the injuries on Zekiah’s face.

Rosalie was surprised to see Guillermo here. “Guille, why are you here?”

“I came to find you and Zeki!” Guillermo said solemnly.

“But it’s too dangerous here!” Rosalie was worried about her son’s safety in such a place, even though she was unafraid of danger herself. She turned to Jonathan and asked, “How could you let him come up with us?”

“If I don’t let him come up, I’m afraid he will try his best to come up,” Jonathan said. He would rather keep Guillermo in his sight. That would be safer.

Guillermo added, “I’m not scared. Daddy could come up, so I can too! And I want to save Zeki and bring him back!”

He was aware that Zekiah had endured hardship and never experienced the privileges he had.

A malevolent individual had delivered him into his father’s care, but Zekiah hadn’t been sent to his father.

At this moment, the only five-year-old Guillermo had silently resolved to protect Zekiah so the latter would enjoy all the privileges he had.

“Are you okay? Do you need any help?” Jonathan asked Rosalie with concern. At this moment, he was most worried about her.

“I’m fine, but Zeki… I don’t know what Yvette and the others gave him, and he’s still in a deep sleep. Oh, and where is Yvette? We need to get the antidote from her!” Rosalie said anxiously.

Jonathan picked Rosalie up in his arms and said, “Let’s head down the mountain first. Yvette has been subdued, and we’ll make her hand over the antidote for Zeki.”

Rosalie finally relaxed, resting her head on Jonathan’s chest. She felt safe now.

Jonathan carried Rosalie and quickly descended the mountain, while his men protected Zekiah and Guillermo.

“Mr. Gunner, do you need us to carry you?” asked a few bodyguards who had been around Calvin. “No need, I can walk on my own,” Calvin replied, following behind them. The bodyguards didn’t press further.

As Calvin walked, his gaze remained fixed on the backs of Rosalie and Jonathan.

He was too late for everything.

He knew that, no matter how hard he tried, the man Rosalie loved would always be Jonathan.

If only he had found Rosalie sooner, recognized her, and trusted her back then, maybe she wouldn’t have married Jonathan.

He understood these “what-ifs” were just self-comforting thoughts.

Even so, Rosalie was willing to save him. Thus, it was all worth it. He didn’t love the wrong person. His love might never be reciprocated, but he was content.

Calvin tightly gripped his left wrist, where she had held him moments ago as if her warmth still lingered there.

As they descended, the explosives proved to be as sparse as Calvin had claimed, and there were no further explosions on the way down.

Down at the foot of the mountain, vehicles were waiting, and the police had arrived.

Jonathan was about to help Rosalie into the car when he suddenly noticed her ashen face and her hands trembling uncontrollably.

“What’s wrong, Rosalie? What happened to your hands?” Jonathan asked anxiously.

“…” Rosalie tried to endure the pain, not wanting to worry him too much, but the agony in her hands sent waves of pain.

Just then, Calvin, who had been following them, rushed over upon hearing Jonathan’s concern. He looked at Rosalie’s trembling hands and exclaimed in haste, “Is your hand hurting badly? Mr. Sabatini said your hands couldn’t bear any weight. They’re on the verge of being crippled. I don’t know if he can treat you now.”

Calvin’s words were left hanging as Jonathan’s face turned pale with shock. He demanded, “What are you saying? Rosalie’s hands are about to become crippled?”

“You didn’t know?” Calvin was surprised. He had thought Jonathan was already aware of this matter.

“Explain clearly. What happened?” Jonathan’s voice was stern.

“I… I’m fine,” Rosalie forced out, gritting her teeth, “Jonathan, don’t worry. My hands have some old issues.”

“I’m sorry, Rosalie,” Calvin interjected with remorse. “If it weren’t for saving me, your hands wouldn’t be in this condition. I’m so sorry.”
