The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 837

Chapter 837

Callum approached the bedside and suddenly leaned down. His hands propped up on both sides of Lillian’s body, and he stared at the woman with a burning gaze. “Lillian, I have never seen you as a person at my beck and call.”

For him, Lillian had always been his life.

Lillian’s

eyes were fixed on the suddenly approaching face with astonishment, locking onto those deep and beautiful eyes. In an instant, Lillian felt a bit dazed, and then she immediately came to a realization, attempting to retreat backward with an embarrassed expression.

At this moment, behind her back was the headboard, and there was no room for her to step back. Callum’s face, on the other hand, approached even closer to her. “Lillian, do you know how much I miss you?”

The man’s hoarse voice touched Lillian’s heart with an enticing enchantment.

Lillian looked away to avoid Callum’s eyes because she was afraid that she would not be able to control herself and would fall in love with him again by staring at him at this close distance.

Callum seemed not to be bothered by Lillian’s reaction and continued to say in a hoarse voice, “In the past five years, I missed you every day, and I regretted what I had done every day. If I had not been so confident and had been more careful and cautious back then, a lot of things would not happened later on. Maybe we would have been married now and have had children…”

Lillian’s body trembled slightly. “That’s enough, Callum. What’s the point in saying these now?”

“It’s not enough. How would it be enough? I want you to know that I have never loved Madeline. The only person I love is you!” It was not until now that he said what had been hidden in his heart for five years.

For five

words silently in his heart. , he had only dared to keep the because he had to set up a plan and counter the Tall family. This time, he could not afford to make the same mistakes again.

Lillian suddenly caught her breath. She turned her head and stared at Callum in disbelief with widened eyes.

Callum said, “I love you. The only person I love is always you. I’m

together with Madeline just to regain the White family back so that the Tall family…”

However, before the man could finish his words, Lillian interrupted him, “You said that the person you love is only me all along?”

“Yes,” Callum replied with absolute certainty.

“The person you love now is still me?” she continued to ask.

“Yes.” The definite answer was once again blurted out from his mouth. Lillian stared at the man in a daze and suddenly laughed. “You love me. You love me the entire time, but… You can give up love for the sake of taking back the White family, wealth, and power, right? Now, you’re here to search for love again because you are already sure of having the wealth and the power?”

Her laugh made Callum panic inexplicably as if Lillian was getting further and further away from him.

Clearly, Lillian was right in front of him right now. All he had to do was raise his hand, and he could easily touch her.

“It’s not like that, Lillian… Listen to me…” Callum tried to explain.

“What else can you even say? Callum, we are never the same kind of person. Back then, I could not assist you as Madeline did, so you chose to break up with me. If your career encounters a crisis in the future and needs a second ‘Madeline,’ you will abandon me again when that happens, right?”

“No, I won’t abandon you again. As long as you still love me, I’m confident that no matter how difficult the situation will be, I will definitely be able to find a solution.” Callum believed that as long as Lillian was willing to be together with him, he would try his best to clear the obstacles between them.

However, the answer the man heard was the other way around as Lillian answered, “I’m sorry. I don’t love you anymore.”

The crisp voice, which was his favorite once, used to captivate his soul and occupy his dreams. But now, that voice was saying the cruelest words he had ever heard.

Callum’s expression instantly turned pale.

“You… Don’t you really love me anymore?” Even the man’s voice became a little laborious, and every word was spoken with great difficulty.

“If I really still love you, I won’t go on blind dates or have another

relationship,” Lillian responded. “I can love you wholeheartedly when we love each other. But after we break up, I hope we part ways completely without hesitation!”

“Completely?” Callum laughed bitterly, thinking Lillian did not know anything at all but came to tell him that she wanted a complete breakup. He also thought about how Lillian had no idea what Madeline had done after she was seriously injured, not even knowing what he had done for her.

“Is there anything wrong?” Lillian asked.

“You don’t love me, but is Jerick the one you love?” Callum asked. Without waiting for Lillian’s answer, he had already said with confidence, “You don’t love him. If you really love him, then you wouldn’t have reacted like that the last time I kissed you.”

Lillian’s expression changed. She bit her lips tightly, looking like a cornered and disheveled tiny beast and appearing pitiful and sympathetic.

Yet, it was Callum who really felt disheveled.

“Lillian, you don’t love Jerick at all, do you?” The man’s breath sprayed gently on Lillian’s face.

Lillian took a deep breath and replied, “What about it if I don’t love him? It doesn’t mean I love you if I don’t love him!”

As she said that, she wrapped her arms around Callum’s neck.

In an instant, Callum felt his body stiffened, and his face turned pale.

Looking at Lillian’s suddenly approaching face, the man instantly understood what she was going to do, but he was reluctant to push her

away.

Even if such touch was not her sincere intention, and even though it was a kind of harm to him, Callum was still willing to accept everything from her.

Lillian’s lips pressed firmly on his, just as he had kissed her before.

Lillian was merely replicating the kiss, even doing it mechanically, to the extent that the kiss carried a coldness in it.

Yet, Callum could not help but close his eyes. He recalled and fantasized, thinking they were still doing fine together now and that Lillian still had him in her heart.

When the kiss ended, Lillian looked at Callum quietly. “What does such a

kiss even mean? Even those who don’t love each other could kiss like this. In fact, I can kiss Jerick in front of you to prove it, but… I don’t want to kiss him like that just to prove it to you because it will be an insult to Jerick.”

Therefore, this was the only way she could prove to Callum.

“Callum, I can’t agree with your attitude towards love, and I also can’t keep up with your pace. I can’t even give you any assistance in your career, so why do you have to pester me? I hurt you once, and you also hurt me once, so we’re even.”

Callum’s expression turned paler, and his body trembled slightly. A layer of sweat broke out on his forehead. “That won’t happen! Lillian, there’s nothing we can get even between us!”
