The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 800

Chapter 800

Rosalie had a delicate demeanor. That day, she had lighter makeup on, with the focus drawn to her eyes. Her long hair was tied up, and a few strands fell neatly around her face, further accentuating her elegant temperament.

It did not make people think she was unfit to stand beside Jonathan. On the contrary, her serene conduct seemed to meld seamlessly with Jonathan’s natural charm. Others only felt pleased as they looked at them side-by-side.

Among those people, some men looked at Rosalie with amazement. Jonathan frowned slightly at that.

She was stunning that day. Her beauty was based not only on her clothes and jewelry but also on her disposition and calmness.

She may not immediately catch someone’s eye, but the longer they looked at her, the more at ease they would feel. Eventually, standing next to her, they would feel completely at peace.

Perhaps this was her magic, which made it harder and harder for him to extricate himself from her.

The gazes of those men made him feel as if his carefully guarded treasure was being coveted.

“Later, I’ll take you to meet some people. Of course, you might know these people from five years ago,” Jonathan said.

Rosalie smiled slightly, knowing that Jonathan had brought her to the banquet to officially declare her existence in the upper-class coterie.

Jonathan led her to meet some people. Some were people Rosalie had met before, and some she had not. Rosalie greeted them all with grace and composure.

After walking around once, Rosalie said, “I’ll step to the side for a

moment to rest.”

“What’s wrong? Are you tired?” Jonathan asked.

“I’m not tired. It’s just that my high heels are a little higher today. If I walk around too long, my soles will hurt,” Rosalie whispered. As she finished speaking, she licked her lips as if slightly embarrassed.

She was already a mother, yet when she performed such girlish gestures, she exuded a particular charm that drew Jonathan’s attention.

His Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily. Every single movement she made piqued his desire. If it were not for the inappropriate time, he was afraid he would want her again.

When they arrived at the rest area, Jonathan was stopped by another man. Rosalie recognized him. He was a chip tycoon who had recently been featured frequently in newspapers. Jonathan had introduced him to her before.

The man appeared to have something to say to Jonathan. “I’ll go over there and discuss things first,” he told Rosalie. “You can rest here.”

“Okay,” Rosalie answered.

She took a glass of champagne from the waiter after Jonathan had left and sipped it while looking around at the banquet-goers dressed to the nines.

Looking around, she noticed many people in the hall staring at her. The majority of them were female. These women’s expressions ranged from curiosity to envy to unkindness.

Rosalie turned to the side, unconcerned. Of course, she understood that if she were going to be by Jonathan’s side, she would be subjected to more scrutiny like this in the future.

She could bear these eyes on her.

Just then, Rosalie caught sight of a figure. She was taken aback.

It was Callum.

Callum had actually come to this banquet, and the person standing beside him was Madeline. She was wearing the exact gown Rosalie had wanted to try on before.

Just then, Callum saw Rosalie as well. His expression faltered slightly.

Madeline looked at Callum from the side and could not help smiling. “Right. Speaking of which, haven’t you known Mrs. Youngblood of the Youngblood family for a long time? Let’s go say hello.”

With that, Madeline took Callum’s arm and walked toward Rosalie first.

Callum approached Rosalie almost passively.

She smiled as she greeted Rosalie, “Hello, Mrs. Youngblood. I’m Madeline Tall.”

“Hello,” Rosalie responded, looking at them with a complicated gaze.

After all, if it had not been for this woman, Callum and Lillian might not

have broken up.

However, perhaps without Madeline, there would be other women.

After all, what Callum wanted more than love was absolute control over the White family.

“Speaking of which, I believe I must share some fate with Callum and you, Mrs. Youngblood. Your best friend appears to be Callum’s ex-girlfriend, who I believe is still single. Aren’t you going to introduce your friend to more accomplished men, Mrs. Youngblood?” Madeline delivered everything with a smile, but her words were direct.

As Rosalie looked at Madeline, she also caught sight of Callum’s face, which seemed to pale further under the light.

“Ms. Tall, you need not worry about this matter. Lillian is my friend, and I’ll help her if needed. If anyone intends to harm her, I will not let it go unnoticed.” Rosalie’s smile faded, revealing her firm stance to Madeline. If Madeline truly wanted to hurt Lillian, Rosalie would protect her. She would never let Madeline escape.

“I suppose Lillian will be okay with your protection, Mrs. Youngblood.” Madeline chuckled. “By the way, when Callum and I leave in a few days, we’ll start planning our wedding. We’d love to see you there, Mrs. Youngblood.”

“An invitation?” Rosalie’s scarlet lips twitched as she thought of it, and she gave Callum a mocking glance. “Why had this man reappeared before Lillian when he had decided to wed Madeline? The tranquil waters had been stirred up once more.”

At this moment, a woman in a red gown with beautiful makeup and expensive jewelry spoke up. She exuded a high-profile presence.

She boomed, “Who are you planning to defend upon your return? By the way, Mrs. Youngblood, you were declared dead, then came back to life five years later. You’ve been away from Strico for half a decade and suddenly return now. Why don’t you share with everyone what you’ve experienced during the past five years?”

Rosalie recognized this woman as Lucille Marsden, the daughter of the CEO of a real estate company working with Youngblood Group.

Due to the real estate boom in recent years, the Marsden family had become part of the nouveau riche, and their assets had increased tenfold in value. They had jumped from a second-class real estate company to one of the top real estate companies in Strico City.

Lucille was also one of the women who was eyeing Jonathan.

Before Rosalie came to the banquet, she had done her homework. Carlos had provided her with thorough information. She was familiar with

everyone in attendance, including the women who had shown interest in Jonathan over the previous five years.
