The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 764

Chapter 764

The little boy was the exception.

Guillermo was probably the only person Jonathan cared about, and his relationship with Jonathan was rather cold.

Carlos had to sigh again at the thought.

If Rosalie were still alive, and Jonathan had not forgotten how much he loved her, he would probably spoil his son, probably even love the boy as much as any other father would, instead of being as cold as he was.

Though it was a shame that Jonathan had forgotten his love for Rosalie, at least he was still alive to see his son become a man.

“You did love your wife, Mr. Youngblood,” Carlos replied.

“Love?” Jonathan scoffed. People around him had told him about his relationship with Rosalie, but it felt unfamiliar like he was listening to someone else’s story. Even though he was the subject, he felt like an outsider.

It was like it had nothing to do with him, no matter how the story was told.

“If I had loved her, I wouldn’t have forgotten something like that so easily. Since I couldn’t remember anything about it, I guess I didn’t love her very much after all,” Jonathan said indifferently.

Carlos choked. He could not bring himself to tell Jonathan that it was Kurt’s fault.

However, he was relieved that Jonathan did not care about his romance with. Rosalie. That man would probably break down again if he remembered.

When they pulled up at the Youngblood residence, the butler stepped forward to greet Jonathan as he got out of the car, “Ms. Sabatini and Ms. Youngblood are waiting for you.”

Wrenna Sabatini was a girl Jonathan adopted. Since Wrenna’s biological mother was still alive, Jonathan did not manage to go through with the adoption procedures, but the Youngblood family announced it to the public. Therefore, to them, Wrenna was the adopted daughter of the Youngblood family, even though the adoption procedures were not followed, and the butler acknowledged Wrenna as such.

On the other hand, Wrenna’s mother, Agyness Sabatini, was a young, unmarried mother. So, the butler could only call Agyness by her maiden name since it was inappropriate to address her as Mrs. Sabatini.

Jonathan entered the house with a slightly furrowed brow.

Agyness’s eyes lit up when Jonathan entered the living room.

Agyness had never expected such a stroke of luck in getting to know the almost omnipotent man in Strico. Since Jonathan took such a liking to Wrenna and adopted her, it allowed Agyness to get close to Jonathan effortlessly.

Agyness had gone from being an unmarried pregnant woman, abandoned by her husband and ostracized by her family, to being the object of envy. Those relatives and families who had once looked down on Agyness were now trying to gain her favor.

She understood that it was all because of her relationship with Jonathan.

However, Wrenna being an adopted daughter, was not quite what Agyness had hoped for. After all, Jonathan was bound to get married, and by then, Agyness feared Wrenna’s status as an adopted daughter would only become increasingly awkward. Once Jonathan had a biological daughter, he would no longer care about Wrenna.

Therefore, Agyness felt the need to seize the opportunity.

Agyness secretly made up her mind at that thought and put on a charming smile. She was beautiful and had a good figure, which allowed her to attract rich young men back then, and later to marry a wealthy man by getting pregnant and taking advantage of the child in her belly to make her way into a wealthy family.

Unexpectedly, however, that wealthy man refused to give Agyness a chance, even though she had become pregnant with his child. Even after she went into labor and gave birth to Wrenna, that wealthy man bluntly told Agyness that the child was none of his concern.

“You’re back, Mr. Youngblood,” Agyness said joyfully. “Wrennie missed you today and insisted on seeing you, so I brought her here.”

Wrenna walked up to Jonathan as if she wanted to hug him, but she was frightened by Jonathan’s eyes and remained several steps away. “I miss you, Daddy,” Wrenna said timidly.

Jonathan glanced at Agyness and Wrenna. He said, “It’s getting late. Time to go

home.”

“But… I want to sleep with you here, Daddy. Please?” Wrenna widened her eyes to implore as Agyness had taught her.

Wrenna was told that she must try her best to please Jonathan and make him her real father so that she could have a good life. Everyone would continue treating her like a princess if she wore beautiful clothes and ate delicious food.

But Wrenna did not understand what a real father was. After all, she wanted to be a princess instead of being looked down as before.

However, Jonathan only said coldly, “I don’t like to sleep with others. I will have someone send you back. Besides, you should call me Papa Jon, not Daddy.” Guillermo was the only one who could address Jonathan that way.

Wrenna dared not say another word in the face of such a cold side of Jonathan. Agyness bit her lip. “Wrennie has never had a father, Mr. Youngblood,” she said reluctantly. “Wrenna likes you very much, which is why she…”

Agyness’s voice was getting lower and lower. Under Jonathan’s glare, she was

barely whispering.

Suddenly, Agyness felt as if Jonathan had read all her thoughts. Yet thère was no warmth in his eyes.

It was as if Jonathan was incapable of loving anyone.

“Send them back, Gary,” Jonathan ordered the butler beside him.

“Yes, sir,” Gary replied. Then he turned to the mother and daughter and said pointedly, “Ms. Sabatini, you should take Ms. Youngblood home. Mr. Youngblood wants to rest.”

Gary’s experience with different types of people made him well aware of what Agyness wanted, and he knew that achieving what was once impossible would often only make one greedier for more.

In Gary’s opinion, Agyness was too greedy. But it was her good fortune that Wrenna caught the eye of Jonathan.

“No,” Gary corrected himself, ” In fact, she has inadvertently become Guillermo’s surrogate younger sister.”

When Agyness heard Gary’s words, she was too embarrassed to say another word. All she could do was take Wrenna’s hand and leave awkwardly.

Meanwhile, Jonathan went upstairs and entered Guillermo’s bedroom. He pushed open the door and saw that Guillermo was sitting on a small chair, concentrating on a puzzle. The family teacher beside Guillermo stood up respectfully as he saw Jonathan. “Mr. Youngblood.”
