The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 716

Chapter 716

As Brayden’s voice got farther and further away, Warren couldn’t help trembling. “But… Is she just an ordinary woman? No! Amelia was never an ordinary woman. That was the woman I loved!” he thought.

The pain in his chest was getting stronger and stronger.

The pain almost overwhelmed him.

Perhaps it was not until now that Warren finally admitted that he still loved Amelia.

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that he thought that he could not love her and that he could take her out of his heart after sending her to prison for

revenge.

But it turned out that he had been deceiving himself.

If he really didn’t love her, he wouldn’t care so much about her. He wouldn’t be jealous when seeing her with another man or even get angry after mistakenly thinking that he was fooled by her!

He defended Irene and treated Amelia harshly in all aspects, but he was evading his feelings and daring not to admit that he loved her, the daughter of his enemy. Warren clenched his fists tightly until his fingernails pierced his palms. A wisp of blood dripped down his fingers, but he still seemed not to feel pain.

Step by step, he walked towards Amelia’s ward.

He knew which ward she was in.

Warren wanted to see her and tell her that he was wrong. He shouldn’t have believed what that woman said and humiliated Amelia like that!

He shouldn’t have projected his hatred for her father on her and even took revenge on her in such a despicable way!

He also wanted to tell her that from now on, he would treat her and Aiden well and make up for the hardships she had suffered.

But as he approached her ward, he became more and more timid.

He was afraid that she would look at him with hatred and wouldn’t forgive him.

He was so scared that he didn’t know how to face her.

It was to the point that every step he took was so difficult.

When Warren finally came to Amelia’s ward, two men sitting on the bench in front of the ward immediately got up and stopped him.

“Mr. York, please stop here,” one of them said.

“You are…” Warren looked at the two and said.

“Mr. Youngblood asked us to guard Ms. Amelia Haab. He said that Ms. Haab

should not be disturbed by irrelevant people,” the man replied.

Warren was stunned.

“Irrelevant people? So, am I an irrelevant person?” he thought.

He instantly felt a pang in his heart.

Why was he an irrelevant person? He was the one Amelia once loved! He was also Aiden’s father!

“What gives Jonathan the right to prevent me from seeing Amelia?” Warren said, “Even if he runs this hospital, he doesn’t have the right to do that!”

He tried to break in as he spoke.

But the two men didn’t give in at all. “Mr. York, please go back. This is a hospital, and it’s late at night.”

“What if I insist on going in?” Warren said in a deep voice.

At this moment, the bodyguards who were following Warren stepped forward. Although Warren had more people on his side, the two men who guarded Amelia’s ward didn’t give in at all.

After all, they had been ordered not to let certain people disturb Amelia. Warren was one of them.

“In that case, we apologize in advance,” the two of them said.

Both sides were ready to start a fight.

Suddenly, the door of the ward opened, and Amelia came out.

Seeing that Amelia had come out, the two men guarding the ward said quickly, “Ms. Haab, please rest assured. If you don’t want to see Mr. York, he won’t be able to enter your ward no matter what.”

Since they were guarding her ward, they were naturally able to stop anyone from entering.

Amelia raised her eyes and looked at Warren.

Warren looked different from the last time she saw him. Even though he was still wearing a suit and leather shoes, his jaw was covered with stubble, and his hair looked messy. His face looked haggard, and even his eyes seemed to be red. He looked very different from the meticulous and solemn appearance he usually had.

At this moment, Warren looked at the woman not far away greedily. She was dressed in a hospital gown with her long hair scattering down her back, which made her face look thinner.

There was a scab on her forehead, which looked somewhat dark red and so obvious under the light of the corridor.

Warren suddenly felt a pang in his heart, and his eyes felt prickly.

“The wound on her forehead… is from the time she was forced to bow down and had her head forcefully pinned to the ground,” he thought.

At that time, her head was forcefully slammed against the ground as she was forced to bow over and over. And he was the one who gave the order to do that to her! In an instant, he only wanted that humiliation and pain to fall on him instead.

“Why did I just watch her suffer from humiliation? Why did I ignore her pain and despair at that time?” he thought.

A cold female voice sounded in his ear. “What is it, Warren? Are you here this late to take me to bow down to Irene and make amends?”

Warren’s body suddenly trembled and staggered as if he couldn’t even stand firmly.

A touch of pain flashed in his eyes. Now, she could easily send him into hell with

one sentence.

“N-No.” He said in a dry and humble tone, “Amelia, I’m here to apologize to you. I know that I was wrong and ridiculous. I shouldn’t have believed what Irene said or treated you like that-”

Amelia interrupted him, “Warren, I don’t want to hear you apologize. There is no need for that! It’s late now. My mom and Aiden have fallen asleep. I don’t want to wake them up or see you again.”

She looked at him with disgust.

But when she was about to head back into the ward, Warren suddenly rushed up and tried to grab her.

However, the two men who were guarding the ward stopped Warren.

So, what Warren caught in the end was just Amelia’s clothes.

But even though it was just the hem of her clothes, he still held on tightly as if he was grabbing onto his last hope. “Amelia, I’m begging you. Please listen to me.”

His voice was hoarse and he seemed to be begging.

Amelia was stunned. Confusion flashed in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by coldness and disgust. “No need. There’s nothing to talk about between us.”
