The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 698

Chapter 698

Moreover, in all these years, Warren had never expressed any interest in her. The only time was just three months ago when he got heavily drunk, and she deliberately seduced him. However, even in his inebriation, he kept calling out Amelia’s name.

Though she had ended up spending the night in his bed, he hadn’t actually touched her.

Even if she were to scheme to get Warren into bed now, the timing of the child’s birth would reveal the truth.

What she cared about more than her own flesh and blood was the

position of one part of the York family.

“How about getting an abortion secretly before the marriage of convenience with the York family? You can use the excuse of taking a few days of rest, and then everything will be fine,” Thomas suggested.

Irene pondered this. The child had to be terminated, but she also needed to devise a plan. She intended to use the child in her womb to completely sever Warren’s feelings for Amelia.

“Mom, Dad, I have an idea,” Irene said with a sly smile, whispering her newly hatched plan to her parents.

Rosalie watched her friend on the hospital bed, eating with determination. When Callum left Lillian’s ward that day, they had expected Lillian to be heartbroken, possibly even to the point of worsening her condition. Rosalie had even arranged for Jonathan to contact the doctor in case of an emergency surgery.

To their surprise, when they entered Lillian’s ward, she just smiled faintly and said, “I’m a bit tired. I want to sleep.”

Lillian then actually fell asleep.

The next day, when Lillian woke up, she displayed a positive attitude toward her condition. Nevertheless, the more optimistic she seemed, the more uneasy Rosalie felt.

“What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?” Lillian asked. Although her speech was still somewhat disjointed these days, it was much better than before.

Rosalie hesitated for a moment before asking, “Are you really okay?” They were alone in the ward now.

Lillian swallowed a mouthful of food and replied Rosalie, “How could I… not be okay? My feelings for him are genuine. If it weren’t for this…

incident, maybe we would have been married.”

“Then why didn’t you…”

“I didn’t cry, right?” Lillian interjected. “Actually… that night when he came, I… did cry alone while my dad was asleep.”

Rosalie was surprised; she didn’t know about this.

Lillian made a gesture for Rosalie to keep it a secret. “Don’t tell… my dad. He sleeps deeply at night and didn’t notice.”

Rosalie nodded.

Lillian sighed, “Rosalie, I don’t want to think about anything else right now… I just want to focus on getting better and being worthy of… the people who truly love and care about me.”

As for Callum, maybe they just weren’t meant to be. He had always aimed for the pinnacle of power and wealth, wanting to become someone exceptional, while she just wanted a peaceful and loving life.

His ambitions were something she couldn’t support.

In that case, a clean break was better.

Still, ending a relationship after loving someone so deeply would hurt, and it would be difficult.

However, more important than her own pain was her friends and family. She didn’t want them to worry. She needed to stay strong and repay their love and care.

“Rosalie, I’ll gradually bury Callum deep in my heart… and try to forget about this relationship. There’s no hatred or resentment… between us. In the end, we just had different values,” Lillian said.

Rosalie felt a lump in her throat. Lillian was even stronger than she had imagined.

Someone like Lillian deserved a better man in the future.

In the afternoon, Amelia also came to visit Lillian. Learning about Lillian’s breakup with Callum, she was surprised at first. However, after seeing Lillian’s calm and accepting attitude toward the breakup, Amelia felt relieved.

Lillian’s ability to stay composed despite the emotional turmoil

impressed her.

After chatting for a while, Lillian fell asleep again. Amelia sighed and said, “Lillian is truly strong. She must be hurting inside, but she’s

rebounding so quickly.”

“Yes, even though Lillian is usually cheerful and carefree, she is actually a strong-willed and independent person,” Rosalie said. “However, she mentioned that after shedding her tears and letting out her feelings, she could finally let go of Callum. But is it really that easy to let go of someone you deeply loved?”

Only those who had experienced such emotions would understand how difficult it was.

“Even if it’s not easy, she’ll manage it eventually. Only by letting go can she start a new life,” Amelia murmured.

Rosalie turned to look at Amelia and asked, “Amelia, have you let go?”

Amelia raised her eyes, smiled faintly, and said, “Me? Yes, I’ve let go completely.”

“When it comes to the evidence of your bone marrow donation to Warren, I’ll have it collected soon. When Warren realizes that you were the one who truly saved him back then, he might not refuse to donate his liver to you,” Rosalie suggested.

Amelia shook her head. “He’s more likely to refuse. I remember him. telling me that even if he were to die, he wouldn’t want to die in front of me. He won’t save me, and I don’t want to be naive again.”

During their time at the amusement park, she had become acutely aware of how much he despised and hated her. She knew that letting him go was the right choice.

It was easy to say you don’t love someone anymore.

However, she hadn’t achieved it until now.

“But, Amelia…” Rosalie wanted to continue persuading her.

Amelia/interrupted, “Rosalie, I’m more clear-headed now than ever _before. I don’t have any expectations from Warren. I just hope that you

and Jonathan won’t end up like Warren and me.”

Rosalie fell silent, still wanting to fight for justice on Amelia’s behalf.

“By the way, I might not be able to see your three babies being born, but I’ll prepare gifts for their birth. Please don’t reject them,” Amelia said with. a smile.

Rosalie’s eyes welled up with tears. “Amelia, don’t you want to live? You

still have your mother Matilda and Aiden!”

“In this world, many things aren’t as simple as wanting or not wanting them.” Amelia sighed softly. “If I could choose, I wouldn’t want to have encountered Warren and get into all this entanglement with him. But when I think about it, without him, there wouldn’t be Aiden either.”
