Chapter 695
“Is that so? Then she’s lucky,” Callum remarked casually.
“Yeah, she’s indeed lucky. She was discovered immediately and taken to the hospital. But maybe her luck has run out. She received several critical condition notices from the doctors, and just recently regained consciousness. However, yesterday, the doctor issued another critical condition notice. It’s likely that even if she doesn’t die, she might be in a vegetative state for the rest of her life,” Jonathan said nonchalantly as if he were discussing mundane news.
Callum’s expression changed as he stood up abruptly. “How could this happen?”
“Why wouldn’t it happen?” Jonathan smiled faintly. “After all, the news about the White family and the Tall family’s upcoming marriage of convenience has spread all over the internet. Everyone could have seen it, including Lillian. Mr. White, it seems that you’re quite concerned about Lillian’s safety, huh?”
Callum seemed to realize that he had reacted too strongly earlier, and he remained silent for a moment.. stared at Jonathan and didn’t speak for a
moment.
At this moment, Madeline furrowed her brow slightly, showing signs of displeasure. Parting her lips, she said, “Callum, what’s wrong with you?” Callum pursed his lips and sat back down. “Nothing.”
Jonathan continued, “Of course, if you’re interested, Mr. White, you can also go to the hospital to visit Lillian. Maybe you can even see her one last time.”
This remark darkened Callum’s expression even further!
Rosalie knew that Jonathan was trying to provoke Callum into revealing his true feelings toward Lillian.
It seemed that Callum still cared about Lillian. At least, he was concerned about her health.
“But why had Callum initially acted so indifferent?” Rosalie couldn’t help but wonder.
“I don’t think that’s necessary,” Madeline interjected. “I know about Lillian. She used to be Callum’s girlfriend, but now he’s with me. So, I think it’s better to avoid meeting her.”

Madeline turned to Callum and asked, “Am I right, Callum?”
Callum tightly pursed his thin lips, and his deep gaze seemed to be covered by a layer of darkness, making it impossible for anyone to see what he was really thinking.
Just then, Rosalie’s phone suddenly rang. She answered the call, and from the other end of the line, she heard Abigail sobbing, “Rosalie, Lillian… Lillian found out about the White family and the Tall family’s marriage of convenience. She’s been very agitated. What should we do? I’m afraid her condition will worsen if this goes on!”
Rosalie was taken aback, and she too felt a sudden panic. Jonathan was originally intended as a way to make Callum reveal his true feelings unexpectedly leading to Lillian finding out about the news. How could this happen?
“Mrs. Quinn, please don’t worry. How is Lillian doing right now?” Rosalie asked, her own worry evident.
But when she said this, Callum’s expression suddenly changed, and he gazed at Rosalie intently. Everyone could see how nervous he was.
“Lillian…”
“Mom, let me talk to Rosalie…” Lillian’s voice came weakly from the phone.
In these days, as her condition gradually improved, Lillian had been transferred from the ICU to a regular ward. Unfortunately, her body hadn’t fully recovered when this situation arose.
Perhaps due to Lillian’s persistence, Abigail reluctantly held the phone to her ear.
Rosalie could only hear her friend’s voice, each word painstakingly spoken. “Rosalie, I want to see Callum. Can you help me find him and contact him? Tell him I want to see him. No matter what, I trust him…”
Tears welled up in Rosalie’s eyes.
She didn’t know how to respond to Lillian’s words. Lillian believed in Callum, but he was now with another woman, and the final outcome might not be what Lillian hoped for.
Rosalie’s tears prompted an urgent reaction from Callum. “How is Lillian? Is something wrong with her?” he asked anxiously.
Rosalie cleared her throat but hadn’t had a chance to speak when Callum snatched the phone from her hand. Anxiously, he shouted into the

phone at the other end, “What’s happening to Lillian?”
“Callum…” A word came from the other end of the phone. Callum stiffened.
It was Lillian’s voice!
His lips trembled slightly and moved as if he wanted to say something, but it seemed his voice was stuck in his throat, and he couldn’t speak a word.
Lillian’s sound appeared. “C-Callum, I… want to see you. No matter… what’s going on, I… just want to hear you… say it to me in person… If you don’t come… to see me, I’ll stop eating and drinking. I’ll… wait until you
come…”
Callum’s heart sank.
He knew her temperament. She sometimes liked to be coquettish and play tricks, and could get quite crazy when she was being a groupie. She had also lied more than once in front of him; he even used to playfully call her a liar.
However, once she made up her mind, she would definitely do it.
Callum held the phone tightly as he thought, “How could she do this? How could she threaten me with her life? Are my words that important?”
After a long time, he finally said, “Okay.”
The call ended abruptly.
Rosalie looked at Callum anxiously and asked, “What did Lillian/say to you?”
“She wants to see me, and I agreed,” Callum replied, his expression now composed. He handed the phone back to Rosalie. “Which hospital is she in? I’ll go now.
“What are you going to say to her?” Rosalie asked.
“Whatever needs to be said,” Callum said.
“What exactly needs to be said?” Rosalie pressed.
Callum stared at Rosalie with a chilling look. “This is between me and
her. It’s not your business. If you don’t want to tell me the address, I’ll find it myself.”
With that, he turned to leave.
“Wait!” Rosalie reached out to stop Callum.
Callum suddenly jerked his hand away, catching Rosalie off guard. She stumbled, and it seemed like she was about to fall, but Jonathan was quick to support her.
