The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 653

Chapter 653

It was Rosalie’s voice. Jonathan suddenly came back to his senses. His eyes which were full of hostility gradually cleared up.

“Jon, let go. No matter what he said, it won’t bother me. Don’t let it bother you either! There’s no need to dirty your hands over such a man!” Rosalie said to Jonathan worriedly.

“It… It won’t bother you?” Jonathan asked in a murmur.

“Yes, it won’t!” Rosalie answered firmly.

His fingers finally loosened slowly.

Gordon had a narrow escape and was so scared that he could not speak a word. Meanwhile, Caitlin nearby trembled violently.

Rosalie glanced at Gordon and Caitlin and said coldly, “Loretta must bear the consequences of her action. I won’t help her or even bother to retaliate against her. We’re no longer a family. Jon is the only family I have now!”

Rosalie said and took Jonathan’s hand before striding toward the manor.

Gordon and Caitlin were still in a state of fear. They could not utter a word.

Jonathan followed Rosalie step by step. Her last sentence echoed in his mind. She had said that he was the only family she had now.

The sentence seemed to be the most wonderful thing he had ever heard.

After walking into the central area of the manor, Rosalie stopped and turned to look at Jonathan. “You don’t have to be mad at people like them. It’s not worth it.”

Jonathan fixed his eyes on Rosalie. She would not understand how panic rose in his heart when he heard what Gordon said.

When they were in the hospital, she had said that she would not forgive Warren who had put prison because of a testimony if she were Amelia.

Gordon was right. Jonathan was indeed the same as them. When she was unjustly sent to prison, he chose to stand by coldly like them.

He was probably even worse. Knowing who the real mastermind was, he did not care that an innocent person was going to take responsibility for a crime they never committed and encounter so much pain in prison because he looked on coldly and did nothing.

“Does it really not bother you?” Jonathan murmured.

“Yes, it doesn’t bother me, so you shouldn’t let his remarks bother you too,” she replied with a smile.

“But you… were unjustly sent to prison, and I… didn’t do anything about it,” Jonathan replied almost with difficulty.

Rosalie answered, “You didn’t know that I was wronged! All the evidence and witnesses pointed to me. Someone deliberately framed me as the killer. It’s only natural that you would think I was the killer. It’s not your fault. You don’t have to blame yourself.”

However, the pain in his eyes seemed to deepen. He could not help blaming himself. If he had felt more sympathy and pity for her, who was a stranger, she would not have encountered all these.

“Speaking of which, Melanie was the most innocent one. I’m still alive at least, but Melanie died. Jon, do you still think about Melanie?” Rosalie exclaimed.

“Sometimes, but it’s not because I have feelings for her. I never had any feelings for Melanie. I only chose her because Grandpa thought that she was suitable to be the daughter-in-law of the Youngblood family. And I thought I would never fall in love with anyone, so it doesn’t matter who I marry.” Jonathan said as he turned his palm and held Rosalie’s hand. He pressed her palm against his cheek and murmured, “It’s a good thing that you’re alive… If I had known that I would meet you, I would never let

myself get involved with any woman. I’ll stay single and wait for you.”

If the car had crashed a little more into the side or if she had escaped from the car a little later, she might have died.

Jonathan was frightened at that thought.

Even if Rosalie stood alive and well in front of him, he still could not stop his fears.

Rosalie muttered, “Yeah, I survived. It’s just a pity that Melanie… But we’ve found out the real cause of the car accident. Everything’s over.”

Jonathan was silent. She knew nothing about the real cause.

However, he did not dare to explain everything to her.

She was a person with a strong sense of justice. There was no way she would tolerate someone who knew the truth but chose to ignore it.

Rosalie said in confusion, “What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like this? It’s like you made a mistake and don’t know what to do.”

Jonathan’s eyelashes trembled slightly. “What if… I made a mistake?”

Rosalie smiled and said, “If you confess, I’ll go easy on you. If you resist, you’ll suffer a severe punishment.”

“Will you really go easy on me if I confess?” Jonathan asked.

“Try and confess,” she joked, thinking there was no way he would make any mistakes. Even if he did, he could solve it. However…

“Jon, if something’s really bothering you, tell me about it. We’re married. Isn’t there a saying that says a married couple is a team?”

Jonathan replied, “Rosalie, what I regret the most regrettable thing is not knowing you earlier. If I could meet you earlier, I-I’m sure I’ll fall in love with you and never let anyone hurt you.”

“It’s not too late,” Rosalie answered as the hand pressing against Jonathan’s cheeks touched his head and rubbed his hair. “Hmm… It feels good,” Rosalie thought.

“It’s not too late?” Jonathan asked.

“Yes, it’s not too late,” Rosalie responded.

Jonathan thought, ‘It’s not too late… I also hope it’s not too late! I’m willing to do anything to protect Rosalie from suffering any harm.

I hope I can one day make up to her!

“Sorry…” Jonathan murmured.

Rosalie looked confused, unable to understand why Jonathan had suddenly said that. “You…”

Rosalie had just spoken when Jonathan bent down and kissed her.

“Um… Jon…” said Rosalie, but Jonathan shut her up.

His kiss was domineering yet anxious. It contained extreme thirst, just like a wounded beast eager for

comfort.

She could not help but respond to his kiss, trying to comfort him and calm all his anxiety.
