Chapter 646
Her words pained him. “What about me? Am I also in the past?”
Rosalie turned and fixed her gaze on Calvin. “It’s all in the past for me, so you don’t have to immerse yourself there.”
“I don’t need to…” Calvin suddenly chuckled, thinking, “Is my pain, regret, and guilt all unnecessary to
her?”
At that moment, the car had stopped at the door of the main mansion. Calvin said, “Let’s get off. I want to show you something.”
Rosalie followed Calvin into the main mansion and arrived at an art studio.
The room consisted of his paintings. He had painted Rosalie as a child and their meeting in the woods when they were young. She had grabbed his hand when they were in danger so that he would not fall off the cliff. There were also paintings of her carrying him on her back as they made their way out.
The scenes in her memory were converted into paintings by him, displayed in that room.
Countless paintings were in there.
“I drew these for the past few years,” Calvin said bitterly. “Over the years, I would draw these every time I miss you. It’s like drawing them would make me feel better.”
He paused, and his eyes fell on her. “Rosalie, I’ve looked for you for so many years and finally found you, but the heavens seem to like playing pranks on me constantly, always letting me miss you repeatedly. Tell me. If I had asked your name, where you lived, age, school, class, and student ID number, would I not have wasted so many years?”
Rosalie was silent.
“Also, you don’t actually feel anything for me at all, do you? You visited me every day when I was in the hospital for some time and cared about my injury, didn’t you?” Calvin wondered. “If I had seen you the night you came to visit me, or if I had helped Lillian find the best doctor and given her the best. treatment, would you have not married Jonathan? Is there… Is there a possibility between us?”
He stared at her passionately as if yearning to hear an answer from her.
Rosalie sighed. “There are no ‘ifs’ in this world, Calvin. If I really have any feelings for you, it would only be that of seeing you as a partner whom I share my joys and woes with. I am grateful to you for saving me, and, naturally, I would worry about your injuries, but…”
Rosalie gently uttered the words Calvin wanted to hear the least. “I have never fallen in love with you.”
Even though Rosalie knew that her words were heartless toward Calvin, she insisted on getting them out. She did not want Calvin to continue placing his feelings on her, nor did she want him to fall into endless
regret.
Calvin’s visage was ghastly pale as if all the blood had drained from his face. His whole body trembled slightly like he was standing on the edge of a cliff. Rosalie’s words were like sharp razors that could easily push Calvin off the precipice.
“So, what you want to tell me is… Whether I missed my chances with you or not, you will never fall in love with me. Is that it?” Calvin murmured.
Rosalie immediately felt tears well up in her eyes. She was moved by what Calvin had done for her. Perhaps, she could only say that she did not know what love was when she met Calvin. She only felt nothing but friendship for him.
When Rosalie remembered everything, her heart was completely filled by Jonathan. She had no space left
in her heart for Calvin.
“Yes.” Rosalie gave Calvin a firm answer.
As if struck by lightning, Calvin’s eyes were filled with pain. “Why are you so sure that you won’t? You
only said that to make me give up, right? You’re only saying that because you’re already married to

Jonathan, and you’re carrying his children, right?”
“No. Even if I didn’t marry Jon and get pregnant, I would still say that to you,” Rosalie clarified.
“So, do you love Jonathan?” Calvin’s eyes were trained intensely on Rosalie as if he were exhausting the last of his power in hopes that she would deny it.
Yet, before Rosalie could speak, Jonathan’s voice sounded, “What does it have to do with Rosalie loves me or not?”

Rosalie flinched and quickly turned around to look at the sound. She watched Jonathan walk into the studio with anger on his handsome face. “Calvin, since when can you take my wife away as you like? If this happens again, I’ll wipe out Gunner Group.”
Calvin did not seem surprised that Jonathan could directly break into the mansion and get there. Calvin continued staring at Rosalie and said, “What’s wrong? Can’t you give me an answer? Is it yes or no?”
Jonathan grabbed Rosalie’s hand and urged, “Let’s go back.”
However, after Jonathan had taken a step forward, he realized that Rosalie had planted herself on the spot. Her eyes stared directly at Calvin as if he was the only one in her eyes.
At that moment, Jonathan’s heart suddenly tightened. He subconsciously tightened his grip on Rosalie’s hand, a sense of panic surging in him at that moment. Then, Jonathan saw Rosalie’s pink lips parted slightly, and Rosalie said, word by word, “Yes, the person I love is Jon.”
Jonathan’s body stiffened, and he looked at Rosalie.
Calvin suddenly burst into laughter. “You’re lying. If you truly love Jonathan, why would you kneel on the ground and beg him to let you go?”
Compared to Calvin and Jonathan, Rosalie was the calmest one. “Because I thought I could forget Jonathan and let go of my feelings for him then, but I couldn’t. He was always in my heart. Also, I swore in front of his father’s grave that I would stay with him for the rest of my life and become a good wife for him.”
Jonathan pursed his thin lips. The shock on his face slowly turned into a deep expression.
However, Calvin still refused to believe Rosalie, saying, “Jonathan forced you to swear, didn’t he?” “No. I did it willingly. No one forced me,” Rosalie answered earnestly. “Calvin, everything I’m saying to you now is true. I will also live a good life with Jon in the future. We will be happy, so you don’t have to put your feelings on me.”
