Chapter 594
When she and Melanie had been in the car accident, she had been shaking all over. She could still remember the horror.

“I just saved the person I love. Why the need for thanks?” Calvin smiled with a rare expression of tenderness.
Fiona looked at the smile on his face jealously. “Calvin’s smile is for Rosalie!” she thought.
“Calvin, what are you talking about saving her? Didn’t you have a car accident yesterday?” Fiona was confused.
Calvin didn’t answer but said, “Fiona, I want to drink some coffee. Please help me go downstairs and buy one.”
Fiona could feel that Calvin was deliberately sending her away, but she had no good excuse to turn him down at that moment. So, she had no choice but to say, “Okay, I’ll go downstairs and buy it.”
Just as she was about to leave the ward, she looked at them out of the corner of her eye with even more envy.
Fiona mused, ‘Rosalie is always in my way. Like Loretta said, as long as she is around, Calvin will never have eyes for me!

“You saved me. Of course, I care about you,” she said.
“What if I didn’t save you?” he asked back. Before Rosalie could answer, he laughed at himself and said, “I’ve asked a stupid question. But I’m still glad I’ve saved you!”
There was a serious look in his dark eyes.
Even though he was severely injured and almost died, he was still very happy.
Rosalie was touched. In the past, it had always been said that although the scion of the entertainment industry had many girlfriends, he always treated them coldly.
In fact, his attitude toward them bordered upon being heartless.

“By the way… why did you appear out of nowhere yesterday?” Rosalie changed the topic.
“I was going to your rental home yesterday and saw you in your friend’s car. However, your car’s direction was a bit strange, and it didn’t stop. So I trailed behind your car. When I noticed that your car was about to collide with the sand truck, I deliberately rammed into your car.” said Calvin.
At that moment, Calvin rammed into them without any hesitation.
“Didn’t you think it would be dangerous? What if the momentum caused you to accidentally hit the sand truck? It would collapse and bury you alive!” Rosalie said.
“I didn’t think about it.” Calvin stared at Rosalie and said, “I didn’t have time to think about anything back then. Even if you let me do it again, I would still make the same choice.”
Rosalie didn’t know what to say for a moment.
“Still, it was my decision to save you. You shouldn’t let it affect you emotionally,” Calvin said as if he could see through everything.
When Rosalie heard the words, she was moved.
After more than an hour, Lillian arrived at the hospital to visit Calvin. She took the opportunity to inform them of the results of the police inspection of the car. Someone had indeed tampered with it.
The brakes would not fail immediately, but they would suddenly fail after some time. If Calvin hadn’t hit them that day, something terrible would have happened to them.
“Remember when the alarm of my car rang for no reason previously? It should have something to do with it,” Lillian said.
“It’s possible.” Rosalie asked, “Did the police say anything else?”
“They said they would continue the investigation. They would still need to take your statement and will call you in time,”
Lillian said.
Rosalie nodded, hoping that the police could catch the culprit as soon as possible.
“I will have someone investigate this matter as well. No matter what, the culprit must be found!” Calvin’s gaze flashed with
anger.
He would never let go of those who wanted to hurt Rosalie.
When Lillian came out of the hospital, she sighed and said, “Calvin is very kind to you.”
“Uh-huh,” Rosalie grunted softly.
“However, when it comes to feelings, treating someone well doesn’t guarantee that they’ll fall in love with you, but still…” Lillian said seriously, “I don’t want you to miss out on happiness just because you refuse to fall in love again. You deserve the best relationships!”
Rosalie smiled and hugged her friend. “Lillian, don’t worry about me. You have worried too much about me. I promise I will live a better life in the future.”
Lillian sighed and hugged her back. “You must live well so that I will be happy.”
“I definitely will,” Rosalie assured her.
Then they went their separate ways at the hospital gate. One took the bus, while the other took the subway back.
Inside the subway train, Lillian looked at her reflection in the window. The feeling that she had escaped from the jaws of death still resonated within her.
That time, Lillian finally understood how Rosalie felt when the latter encountered her previous car accident.
Back then, the two cars went up in flames right after Rosalie got out. If she had been a moment too late, she would have been burned to death inside.
Lillian thought to herself, “Life is so fragile that one could leave the world at any time and leave the people they love the
most.”
The faces of Lillian’s parents flashed through her mind, and then… Callum’s face
appeared.
Last night, she couldn’t help but call Callum. At first, she wanted to keep the matter from him, as she didn’t want him to worry. However, her body could not stop trembling late at night. As soon as she closed her eyes, she could see herself crashing into the sand truck.
At that moment, she was filled with despair, an emotion she had never felt before in her life.
She cried a lot on the phone and told him everything between her sobs. She could remember everything. Finally, she cried, and fell asleep on the phone.
