The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 488

Chapter 488

Rosalie’s face would still appear in front of Calvin from time to time. Even in his dreams at night, he would dream of the scene when he met her on the mountain, and he carried her on his back as he moved forward.

At that moment, he seemed to be carrying the little girl back then.

“Do you not love Jonathan anymore?” he murmured.

She smiled gently, but she was in a trance. “Does it matter to you guys whether I still love him or not?”

Jonathan had asked her not to fall in love with Calvin.

Calvin asked her if she really did not love Jonathan anymore.

What they wanted was always the result, but they did not care what she wanted. All she wanted was peace.

Calvin looked at Rosalie in a daze. Her smile and voice were like invisible blades piercing his heart.

When Rosalie went back, she was exhausted. After all, too many things had happened today. But when she walked to the gate of the residential area, she saw a familiar black car parked there, which had attracted some people’s attention.

Jarvis, chauffeur of the Youngblood family, ran to Rosalie and said, “Ms. Leighton, Mr. Youngblood is waiting for you in the

car.”

Rosalie was stunned and looked at the black car. She thought, “Jonathan, eh? Is he… in the car now?”

Usually, when he came here, he would directly enter her rental home. But now… she hesitated for a moment and followed the driver to the car.

The driver respectfully opened the door of the back seat, and Jonathan’s figure immediately came into her eyes. Rosalie got in the car,

and the driver drove the car away slowly from the residential area.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

“To the Youngblood residence. I suddenly want to eat dishes cooked by you today, but it’s not convenient in your rental home,” Jonathan said.

“The dishes I cook are not as good as those of the chef in the Youngblood residence.”

“So what? For me, your dishes are the best.” He chuckled. When he lived with her in the rental home, she often cooked.

Even if it was just a simple meal and far less tasty than the food he usually ate, he still liked it very much. Perhaps what he was more attached to was the feeling of eating her cooking together.

The car arrived at the Youngblood residence. Rosalie followed Jonathan out of the car and to the kitchen of the Youngblood residence. All the ingredients had been placed, washed, and cut with a complete variety.

“Do I need to cook all these?” Rosalie was a little surprised.

“Of course not.” Jonathan smiled and said, “You just choose some. Since there are two of us, let’s make three dishes and one soup.”

Rosalie pursed her lips. She then picked some ingredients and started cooking.

The kitchen in the Youngblood residence was not unfamiliar to her, and she did not need to get familiar with it.

She cooked scrambled eggs with tomatoes, shrimp, and chicken with green peppers. When she was cooking, he just stood aside and watched quietly.

For the soup, Rosalie decided to make vegetable soup. After she put all the ingredients into the pot, she closed the lid and let the soup simmer for a while.

At this moment, Jonathan’s voice suddenly sounded. “Calvin went to your office today. What did he say to you?”

Rosalie’s body suddenly stiffened, and she felt a chill spreading through her body. She stiffly turned to look at him, who was a few steps away, “You know?”

“Of course, I care about your matters,” he said.

“He came to me but didn’t say anything,” she said, biting her lip. She felt as if he knew everything about her. “Am I actually under his surveillance?” she wondered.

“Really?” Jonathan murmured, approaching Rosalie. “But I’m curious why you didn’t tell him that you were the one who

saved him?”

Her body suddenly became stiffer.

He raised his hand and gently stroked her lips with his fingertip. His elegant voice, which was like a sweet violin, sounded again. “Tell me why?”

Rosalie suddenly felt her nose sting.

“Why… He’s asking me why! Does he know that it was all because I loved him?” she muttered inwardly. Even though she recalled that memory, she still wanted to hide it.

Even when Fiona took her identity, she did not say a word.

At that time, she did not want to make him uneasy, so she cut off all ties with Calvin.

She still ridiculously thought that she had given him enough sense of security, but she never thought that she was not as important as she imagined. To him, she was just a game piece that could be discarded at any time when he got bored with it.

“How do you know that I didn’t tell him?” she said.

His eyes darkened. “If you had told him, I wouldn’t have seen you coming back alone at the gate of the residential area today.”

If so, Calvin would not let Rosalie come back alone!

Rosalie looked away. “There’s nothing to tell. It’s all in the past.”

“You don’t care that your cousin Fiona treats you like that while taking your identity?” Jonathan continued. “If you’re unhappy with Fiona, I can help you to make her revert to her original identity. It’s useless even if Calvin wants to protect her.”

Rosalie said, “No need.”

“You are so soft-hearted.”

“It’s not that,” said Rosalie. She despised Fiona’s behavior, but they were both granddaughters of Wilma, after all. Plus, Fiona also took care of Wilma before.

Rosahe didn’t confront Fiona for the sake of her grandmother Wilma.

It was Fiona’s own responsibility to make such a move. Whether the outcome was good or bad, it was all up to Fiona to bear it. She did not want to interfere.

“I just don’t think it is necessary!” said Rosalie. She suddenly remembered that the soup was still boiling, so she hurriedly wanted to open the lid and see how the soup was doing..

Her finger accidentally touched the stainless steel part at the edge of the pot lid and was scalded. She suddenly let out a low

cry.

He immediately grabbed her hand, pulled it under the faucet, and let her hand stay under the running cold water.

“No big deal. It’s just a burn,” she said.

He just frowned and continued to let the water wash over her fingers.

“Soup!” she shouted urgently. If it continued to cook, the soup would probably dry up.

“Do you

still care about the soup at this time?” He glared at her. When he saw that she had a burn, he felt pain as if he was the one who had been burned.

“Didn’t you ask me to cook three dishes and one soup? If the soup dries up, I will have to cook again later,” she said.
