The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 420

Chapter 420

Callum shook his hand lazily. “It seems that you don’t want to apologize anymore. My girlfriend had suffered, so as her boyfriend, I had to defend her. Otherwise, she’ll be laughed at.”

The man lay on the ground after being punched. The only sensation he felt was pain in the area where the punch landed. Of course, he could not talk back.

Callum turned to Yvette again. “How about you, the second daughter of the Hamilton family? Will you apologize?”

He seemed to ask politely, but his tone was laced with hostility. Yvette even felt like she would end up like the man on the ground if her answer were “No.”

The man before her would not show compassion for women.

At that moment, Yvette recognized the man in front of her. He was Callum, the newly appointed head of the White family.

He managed to gain control over the White family as an illegitimate child. He was definitely a vicious man in terms of schemes.

The White family was gaining momentum and actively establishing a market in Strico. On the contrary, the Hamilton family had not developed well in recent years, making losses in several major projects. Some time ago, Yvette’s father also mentioned cooperating with the White family on some projects.

“I can’t believe Callum’s girlfriend is Rosalie’s friend!” Yvette thought.\

Yvette pursed her lips with a pale face, thinking the world was smaller than she had imagined.

“Won’t you apologize?” Callum’s voice sounded again.

Yvette almost forced the words out of her mouth as she said, “It was my fault just now. I hope that this…”

“Quinn. My girlfriend is Ms. Quinn,” Callum informed.

“I hope Ms. Quinn can forgive me.” After saying that, Yvette directly walked away in high heels without looking back.

At this moment, Lillian still had yet to regain her senses. Everything happened too quickly from when Callum arrived until Yvette apologized and left.

It was not until Callum led her into the auction site’s VIP room and gave her a glass of juice to calm down that Lillian finally snapped back to her senses.

She blinked and drank her juice while examining the VIP room. This was the place that not even the director and the others could get in.

“Are you here for the auction too?” she asked.

“Yes,” he replied. “The real estate industry is the most profitable now. For the White family to expand their market into Strico now, real estate is the safest choice for us.”

Lillian remembered the White family indeed owned a real estate company.

“Why didn’t you call me when you got into trouble? Did you plan to let those guys drag you out if I hadn’t come by?” Callum questioned.

Lillian’s breathing hitched, and she slowly said, “I forgot.”

“Oh, you… Will you never take me seriously?” Callum said with some helplessness. It was not the first time he had told her to call him if she ever got into trouble.

Yet, she never seemed to remember it.

“That’s not it…” Lillian thought to herself, “When he said he wanted to become my blade, I did take that into heart.”

It was because she minded it too much that her mind was filled with those words.

“By the way, which plot of land are you bidding on?” Lillian changed the subject and asked.

“What about you? Which one do you think is good?” Callum answered with a question.

Lillian immediately pointed at the most popular plot of land and said, “Of course, it’s that one. I think a complex will be built in the future, but I don’t know which design institute will undertake this project. Wow, just the thought of it makes my hands itch.”

Callum glanced at her meaningfully. “What? Do you want to design a complex?”

“I’m just thinking about it.” She shrugged. “An architect should have some sort of dream.”

“You’re right.” He smiled lightly.

When the auction began, Callum directly participated in the auction of the hottest plot of land that Lillian mentioned.

“Mr. White,” the assistant at the side exclaimed.

This plot of land was not included in the ones they were bidding for. Because it was too popular, the competition would be particularly fierce. The final bid price might not be that nice.)

Even if they successfully bid on the land, they would only receive some fame. In terms of profit, they would not make much

money.

However, Callum said, “Bid it. I’ll use this land to earn White Maple Group a reputation.”

The assistant stopped talking, but could not help but look at the girl at the side, drinking juice while scrolling through her phone.

‘Did Mr. White decide to participate in the bid because of what she said?

Is that possible? Tens of billions of dollars just because of one sentence?

This is insane no matter how I see it, the assistant thought.

Inside a private room, Yvette watched the screen with numbers constantly changing. She pondered, “White Maple Group… They’re also bidding for that plot of land like me.”

The information she learned told her that White Maple Group was not interested in this plot of land, and other companies could not afford to bid for it either. That was why she was confident.

Yet, White Maple Group suddenly came out of nowhere.

Yvette gritted her teeth as her beautiful face twisted.

‘Is it because of that woman called Ms. Quinn? Has Callum decided to compete for that land with the Hamilton family, all to continue seeking revenge for that woman?

It seems that not only Rosalie but even her friend, who was originally nothing but an insignificant ant, has now become my obstacle!

Sooner or later, I’ll make them pay! I’ll make these people understand I’m not a pushover!’ Yvette thought.

After the auction, Lillian felt refreshed..

She burst into laughter, especially after seeing the Hamilton family lost the bid.

When she was leaving, Lillian ran into Yvette, who was also about to go. Lillian did not hold back and showed Yvette an exaggerated, mocking look.

The director and Lillian’s colleagues had left, but Lillian still received many messages from them.

Everyone expressed they were so stunned by the sudden turn of events that they did not defend her and hoped she could forgive him.

Reading those text messages, Lillian pouted and refused to reply to them.

“If you feel uncomfortable staying in this design institute, just change to another place,” Callum suddenly said.

Lillian knew Callum had sensed her disgust toward the director and her colleagues’ choice of prudence to protect themselves.

“It’s not that easy to find another job,” she said.

“How difficult is it? Let me find one that suits you,” Callum suggested.

Lillian was stunned and thought, “Right, I seem to have forgotten something. This is quite an easy matter for him.”
