Unexpectedly, Jonathan stopped.
Carlos was taken aback. He wondered whether his words had been so effective.
Right then, Jonathan looked down at his bloody hands. He remembered that she once said his hands were beautiful and
clean.
It was just that she didn’t know his hands had been stained with blood and tainted by the darkness of this world.
“Indeed, it will dirty my hands,” Jonathan murmured in a low voice.
“Mr. Youngblood, your hands…” Carlos hurriedly handed over a clean handkerchief.
Jonathan took the handkerchief, wiped off the blood stained on his hands, and then walked past the man into the building as if he was no longer interested in the man lying on the ground.
Carlos hurriedly said a few words to those people and followed into the building quickly.
Those who had just witnessed the scene couldn’t help but feel chilly at the moment.
No one could have imagined that Jonathan, who typically appeared cold and noble, would seem so terrifying when engaged in a brawl. It was as if… he had transformed into a ruthless killer.
It was as if millions of people had died in his hands.

“You don’t have to follow me.” At the door of the CEO’s Office, Jonathan ordered Carlos nonchalantly.
“Okay!” Carlos answered.
Jonathan walked into the office alone, and then there was a sound in the CEO’s Office.
Carlos stood outside and understood that Jonathan’s anger today was all due to Rosalie.
Although they had broken up, it seemed that Rosalie still had an influence on Jonathan.
Carlos couldn’t help but ponder the nature of the relationship between the man standing beside Rosalie on the street today and her. Additionally, he couldn’t help but wonder if Jonathan minded it.
However, Carlos didn’t know the answer.
At this moment, Jonathan in the CEO’s Office gazed at the mess within and slammed his hand forcefully against the floor-to-ceiling tempered glass window beside him.
“I have never truly loved another person?” A slightly quivered voice squeezed out of his mouth, and his handsome face took on an exquisite fragility.
If he hadn’t really loved her, then he wouldn’t feel so bad now.
His heart seemed to be stung by countless sharp needles over and over again, and the pain radiated throughout his body with each heartbeat.
“Why… Why does it hurt so much?” he thought.
They had broken up, and he had decided not to love her! But right at this moment, it was her face that appeared in his mind.
He couldn’t shake the image of her smiling at another man today from his thoughts.

Rosalie arrived at the law firm for her scheduled interview promptly at the agreed-upon time.
With her verdict overturned, she could rejoin the field of legal work. Yet, she was fully aware of the challenges that lay ahead as she tried to reestablish herself as a lawyer.
Even if the law proved her innocence, this experience of imprisonment would still be an impediment to her.
After all, how many clients would have faith in the capabilities of a lawyer who had spent three years in prison, despite being innocent?
Furthermore, many individuals in the legal community were aware of her case. However, most of them viewed her case as a topic to gossip about. They were curious about her experience but were not necessarily inclined to trust her capabilities.
Just like this time, she had posted a lot of resumes online, but in the end, it was only this law firm that called her to interview that day.
“Anyway, I have to try hard!” Rosalie said to herself in her heart. After all, being a lawyer had been her dream since long ago, and she had been working hard for it all the time.
Rosalie walked to the front desk and said to the receptionist, “Hello, I’m Rosalie. I’m here for the legal assistant interview today.”
Despite once being hailed as one of the most promising young lawyers, a few years had passed, and she could only start over as a legal assistant as she ventured into the field again.
“Okay, please wait a moment.” The receptionist said, “Mr. Lawrence Guzman is interviewing others now. You can sit and rest for a while.”
Rosalie waited in a chair nearby.
At this moment, a voice suddenly sounded. “R-Rosalie, why are you here?”
Rosalie looked up and was surprised to see the person in front of her. It was Elodia, her former colleague at the law firm.
Elodia had deliberately undermined her on numerous occasions. She even took her case as a case example to guide their new colleagues at the firm in order to embarrass her publicly, well before her verdict was overturned.
But after that, she didn’t see Elodia again. She heard that she was fired by the firm.
She didn’t expect to see Elodia again here.
Elodia glared at Rosalie with hatred in her heart. If it weren’t for Rosalie, she wouldn’t have been fired.
After being dismissed, there was a period during which no law firm was willing to hire her. Eventually, she had to rely on connections and spend a substantial amount of money to secure a position there.
The thought of Rosalie still being in the limelight and with Jonathan made Elodia feel jealous.
Rosalie was a prisoner. Even if it had been an unjust situation, Elodia questioned how Rosalie could ever be worthy of someone like Jonathan Moreover, Elodia had lost her job because of Rosalie and had come close to breaking up with her boyfriend.
Even if she found a new job as a lawyer, her salary was far lower than that of the previous firm. And even her future mother-in-law didn’t like her these days.
But… Elodia scrutinized Rosalie, feeling perplexed. She had assumed that since Rosalie was with Jonathan, it would be natural for her to dress in designer brands.
Yet, the person before her was clad in aged attire, worn-out shoes on her feet, with evident scuffs on the toe cap. As for the bag Rosalie carried, it appeared to be of low-priced goods.
“What is going on?” Elodia wondered.
Just as she was thinking, the receptionist came over and said to Rosalie, “Ms. Leighton, it’s your turn.”
“Okay,” Rosalie answered and walked toward the conference room.
Elodia hurriedly pulled the receptionist to ask about Rosalie, and when she learned that Rosalie was here for an interview today, she was a little surprised.
“An interview? Rosalie is actually here to interview for the position of legal assistant?” she thought.
If Rosalie really wanted to reenter the legal profession, she just needed to tell Jonathan instead of going through all these troubles. Elodia’s mind began to wander with speculation.
