The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 387

Chapter 387

“You can arrange a car. I’ll be there now,” Jonathan said in a deep voice.

“Yes!” Carlos replied and glanced at Jonathan’s face. He felt that Jonathan was suppressing his emotions now.

It seemed that at this moment, no one could touch Jonathan’s taboo. Once his taboo was mentioned, there would be a disaster.

It must be because of Rosalie.

Carlos thought to himself, “Mr. Youngblood cares more about Rosalie than others think. Maybe Mr. Youngblood doesn’t even know how much he cares about her.”

However, Carlos still didn’t understand why Jonathan paid so much attention to Calvin.

It was as if Jonathan was afraid that there would be something between Rosalie and Calvin.

What was Jonathan afraid of?

Then, Carlos suddenly laughed at himself in his heart. How could Jonathan be afraid of anything? “I’m overthinking!” Carlos thought.

Rosalie sat on a small mound in front of her grandmother’s grave, talking about her current life, the little things between Jonathan and her, and her expectations for future life.

There were not as many people in the Lopez residence here. Because it was not a festival, there were no other people around who came to the cemetery, so Rosalie could tell her grandmother everything.

She hoped that her grandmother could hear her words and would be happy for her.

Rosalie looked at the time and thought, “If Jon is coming here, he must be on his way.” So Rosalie arranged the flowers in front of the grave again. Then she packed up the garbage and was ready to walk down the mountain.

Just as Rosalie walked halfway, she suddenly came to a forked path and stopped.

In her impression, the other path should lead to the mountain next to this one. In the past, she often liked to go there for fun. When she came over from the other path once and saw that this mountain was full of graves, she was scared at that time!

After returning home, her grandmother made tea for Rosalie to calm her down and hugged her to sleep for two nights.

At this moment, Rosalie hesitated for a while and checked the time on her phone. It was still early. If Jonathan drove to the town, it would take more than an hour.

So Rosalie turned around and walked towards the other path.

She couldn’t tell why she would do this. Maybe it was because she hadn’t been to the hillside where she used to play for a long time, or maybe she wanted to match this real scenery with that in her dreams.

Maybe she was going to give up.

It was just like a ceremony. After that, Rosalie would put everything in her dreams down and ignore the so-called truths and memories. She and Calvin would just be strangers.

What mattered more to Rosalie was Jonathan.

Rosalie took a deep breath and walked along the path to the hillside.

The closer she went to the hillside, the more familiar she felt.

When Rosalie was a child, she often regarded the mountain as a place for treasure hunting and liked to come here to play adventure games. Now when she came here again, this familiar feeling seemed to be back again. Rosalie felt as if time had not passed on this hillside. Everything was just as it used to be.

She even found a big tree that she liked to mark on it back then, and there were still those marks on the tree.

Rosalie had too many memories in this place.

Suddenly, Rosalie was stunned and stopped. Not far ahead was the cliff in her dreams.

In the dreams, the little boy slipped on the edge of the cliff, while the girl instinctively pulled the little boy. As a result, they slid down together.

But the little girl kept holding the boy’s hand and didn’t let go of it. In the end, she came up with the boy.

Rosalie walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down carefully.

The cliff here was steep. Rosalie felt it quite dangerous when she looked down. If she fell with carelessness, she would probably break several bones even if she could survive.

Thinking of this, Rosalie stepped back and stood away from the cliff.

At that time, Calvin didn’t mistake Rosalie for someone else. He recognized her but she couldn’t remember him.

Now Rosalie began to remember him and their childhood, but Calvin had mistaken someone else for her.

So what happened on the cliff would be a secret, a secret buried in Rosalie’s heart.

Suddenly, Rosalie heard a cracking sound as if the foot was stepping on a small branch on the ground. She turned around and didn’t expect to see Calvin in this place.

He was still dressed in that black suit and white shirt, but he was different from when he came out of the Lopez residence. At this moment, his hand was holding a doughnut.

However, there was still a layer of plastic wrap on the doughnut.

Calvin’s originally indifferent look was tinged with surprise when he saw her. “Why are you here?” he asked.

It seemed that Rosalie should be the one who asked such a question.

Rosalie looked behind Calvin and didn’t see Fiona.

“So, Fiona go up the mountain with Calvin, huh?” Rosalie thought.

“Why are you here?” Calvin frowned slightly and approached a step closer.

“I went to my grandma’s grave on the next mountain, and then I walked down the path to this place,” Rosalie replied. Calvin stared at Rosalie with his dark eyes. His voice was even colder, “That’s not what I’m asking! Just why here?”

This was a place of special significance to Calvin. Why did Rosalie appear here?

He had made sure that Rosalie was not the person after he questioned her at the emergency exit of the hospital that day! It was just his mistake. Calvin had the wrong feeling and thought she was the person who saved him.

But in fact, it was Fiona who saved him.

But when Calvin finally calmed down and could forget her, Rosalie suddenly appeared. It felt like a big stone was smashed hard into a peaceful heart lake, which stirred Calvin’s heart.

Looking at Calvin’s eyes, Rosalie suddenly shuddered and understood what he meant.

He was asking her why she was so “coincidentally” appearing on the edge of the cliff where the accident happened.

But at this time, Rosalie couldn’t admit that.

If she did, things would only be more complicated.

“Calvin, I don’t know what you are talking about. I just accidentally came here. Can’t I come here?” Rosalie pretended to be confused.

Calvin’s eyes darkened. He couldn’t help mocking himself in his heart. What kind of answer was he expecting?

“This place doesn’t mean anything to you, but it does to me.” Calvin also walked to the edge of the cliff and looked at it from a distance.
