Chapter 376
Rosalie stood at the door of the hospital, but she was still hesitant. She didn’t know whether her choice was right or not.
Rosalie thought, “Am I really gonna find the truth? If it’s a lost memory, should I restore it? What will happen then? Will I be entangled with Calvin, or make Jon more restless? Should I restore this memory or let it be buried forever? Should I pretend to know it all and treat my headache in other ways? Or maybe my headache won’t happen again if I stay away from Clavin and don’t let him stimulate my memory.”
“Ms. Leighton!” A female voice suddenly sounded in Rosalie’s ear.
Only then did Rosalie realize that she had unconsciously walked to Robin’s office, and the one who called her just now was the nurse who was with Robin yesterday.
“Ms. Leighton, Dr. Erickson met an emergency this morning and needs to ask for a leave for a few days. Sorry for letting you come here in vain,” the nurse apologized to Rosalie. “Because Dr. Erickson suddenly asked for leave in a hurry, we didn’t have enough time to contact you.”
At this moment, Rosalie somehow felt relieved.
Rosalie thought, “Dr. Erickson is not here today. At least, I don’t need to be hypnotized today and don’t have to worry that my memory will be restored.”
Rosalie suddenly paused. She thought, “Worry? Am I worried about… that my memory will be restored? Is it because… I’m worried that after restoring my memory, everything will become more complicated and chaotic? So actually, maybe I know that… the best choice is not to restore the memory, right?”
Rosalie lowered her head and walked to the elevator at the end of the corridor while thinking.
But before Rosalie could press the button of the elevator, a hand suddenly grabbed her wrist. The next moment, she was pulled into the exit passageway beside the elevator.
There was a door between the exit passageway and the corridor, but unlike the corridor where there were a few people walking by from time to time, the passageway was… very quiet, like another world.
“Calvin!” Rosalie looked at the man in front of her in surprise.
At the staircase of the exit passageway, it was quite dim. Calvin turned his back to the light and most of his face was in darkness, which made Rosalie unable to see his expression clearly.
“Tell me, why are you here to see the psychologist? You even need hypnosis. What’s that for?” Calvin asked.
Calvin’s tone used to be cold, but at this moment, it rarely sounded anxious.
Rosalie was stunned for a second and her eyes widened. She didn’t expect Calvin to know why she came here today.
So it meant… “You asked someone to follow me? And investigate me?” said Rosalie.
Calvin pursed his thin lips and didn’t deny it. “Tell me, why do you want to hypnotize?” Calvin’s lips suddenly trembled, and then he continued, “Is there anything that you need hypnosis… to help you remember it?”
Rosalie’s body suddenly stiffened. Judging from what Calvin said just now, he should only know that Rosalie came to the hospital for hypnosis today, but he didn’t know the content.
Therefore, Calvin had this guess, and it was almost right.
Rosalie’s silence seemed to make Calvin more sure of his guess. “So you really have forgotten something? Is it related to me?”
Rosalie bit her lip and said, “Mr. Gunner, you’re overthinking. I am here for a hypnotic treatment today, but it’s not the type you said. I have other diseases to be treated. As you know, I used to be in prison for three years before, so it’s normal for me to have diseases like anxiety and so on.”
Calvin stared at Rosalie as if he wanted to tell if it was true. “Really? Anxiety? Do you have that?”
Rosalie looked into Calvin’s eyes and said, “How do you know I don’t?”
Calvin suddenly approached Rosalie, and his elegant and handsome face came so close to her. “Then do you know that the day at the exhibition, you grabbed my hand and said exactly the same things as the little girl who saved me when I was a
child said!”
“I told you. I was just talking nonsense,” Rosalie said calmly.
“Nonsense?” Calvin sneered. “You grabbed my hand at that time, but
you said
you wouldn’t let go of me and you would take me up, and you also asked me to hold your hand tight! Tell me what kind of nonsense can be so opposite? And you said you would take me up. To where?”
Calvin’s questioning was like a heavy hammer hitting Rosalie’s heart. Inexplicably, she felt so suffocated that she was almost out of breath.
Since Calvin was approaching her, Rosalie kept stepping backward until her back reached the wall.
Rosalie subconsciously raised her hand to block Calvin, but then his hands pressed her hands against the wall.
“Calvin, what are you doing? Let go of me!” Rosalie struggled.
But her strength was not strong enough to let her break free from Calvin.
“Rosalie, is it that hard for you to admit that you’ve saved me?” Calvin roared at Rosalie. As the prince of the entertainment industry, Calvin was usually flattered by many people. He had never roared in such an aggrieved voice in front of a
woman.
Rosalie looked at the person in front of her in a daze. Since they were close, she finally saw his face clearly. Calvin’s eyes were scarlet, staring at her as if she had done something vicious.
But Calvin’s eyes also looked so aggrieved as if he was an abandoned child.
In an instant, Rosalie felt more suffocated. The scene of Calvin crying in front of her before appeared in her mind again.
People all said that the prince of the entertainment industry had girlfriends all the time, but they were all substitutes.
Calvin always stared at a little silver bracelet, and had been looking for someone for years.
And then… it became an obsession.
Rosalie’s wrists slightly ached since they were grabbed by Calvin, pulling her back to herself.
If it happened before, Rosalie would try to find out the truth. She would want to know whether she had lost a part of her memory or not and whether she was the one who saved Calvin when he was a child.
But… But now Rosalie didn’t want to find out the truth. If after finding out the truth, she would be entangled with Calvin and make Jon restless, she would rather bury this truth and not know about it forever. No matter… whether she was really that
person or not.
