Elodia felt a burning pain on her face and one of her cheeks almost couldn’t feel anything at all. She covered her face with one hand and looked at the man who hit her. Then she found that the person who just slapped her was Rosalie’s boyfriend, whom she had seen before.
Elodia stammered, “Did you just slap me?”
Jonathan laughed angrily, “Why? Am I not allowed to do that?” There was terrifying hostility glistening in his deep eyes.
Elodia said, enduring the pain, “I was helping you. Rosalie and Calvin… they are having an affair…” But before she could finish her words, she was slapped again.

Elodia’s mind was blank. The places where her cheeks were swollen after being slapped were still burning in pain at first but now she only felt coldness out of fear.
Rosalie and Jonathan walked into the meeting room. Rosalie knew all the people who attended this meeting, including the boss of the firm and the mentor she had worked with.
But at this moment, these people looked at her with curiosity and caution.
Rosalie thought it was because of Jonathan.
However, she didn’t say anything about that or talk about the old days with them. What she needed to do was to read all the materials that had been sorted out by the firm, including descriptions of various new evidence.
