The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 275

Chapter 275

“Don’t… No need to be this exaggerating.” Rosalie was merely a delivery rider. If Jonathan of Strico helped her find someone to substitute for her simply because she applied for leave, others would likely be flabbergasted.

She could only blame him for being so provocative and incredibly tempting in bed, causing her to be addicted to him.

“Ugh, good looks can truly be lethal. I’ve finally experienced it myself,” Rosalie thought.

“Rosalie? Rosalie!” Amelia’s voice rang out in Rosalie’s ears. The latter abruptly came back to her senses and answered, “Ah, Ms. Haab, what’s the matter?”

“I should be the one asking you that. You keep zoning out today. What’s wrong?” asked Amelia.

“Oh, nothing,” Rosalie said, but her face turned red again. “By the way, how is your mom’s leg?”

Yesterday, Matilda fell and broke her leg, so Amelia had to close the store early and send her mother to the hospital in a hurry.

Amelia said, “It’s not too serious. The doctor said that she’ll need to have a minor surgery tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow? But isn’t Aiden supposed to be attending the workshop tomorrow?” Rosalie inquired. It was a workshop for those children with cochlear implants to learn how to better adapt to the implant and understand what different pronunciations meant.

In other words, the class could help Aiden learn to “listen” and “speak” sooner.

“I’m afraid I can’t take Aiden to class tomorrow anymore. After all, my mom’s surgery requires a family member to be present,” replied Amelia.

Rosalie said, “If so, I’ll take Aiden to class tomorrow.”

“You’ll take Aiden Haab?” Amelia was taken aback.

“Yeah. Anyway, it happens to be my day off tomorrow afternoon. I’ll just take Aiden to his class,” Rosalie offered. “He’s making rapid progress now, and he also seems to be looking forward to every class.”

The next day after each class, Aiden would always excitedly pronounce some simple words in front of her intermittently with a childish voice.

Now, “listening” and “speaking” seemed to have opened new doors for Aiden, allowing him to start an unprecedented experience.

“Are you sure? It’s your day off tomorrow afternoon. You should be relaxing,” Amelia said embarrassedly.

“Accompanying Aiden to class is also relaxing for me.” Rosalie smiled. “It’s settled, then. I’ll take Aiden to class tomorrow afternoon.”

Hearing this, Amelia didn’t refuse anymore. “Thank you so much, Rosalie!”

On Saturday afternoon, Jonathan and Rosalie stood in front of the car, staring at each other as Aiden, the kid with a cochlear implant, stood beside her.

“Why are you here?” Rosalie was surprised to see that Jonathan’s car was already waiting outside the diner/right after she came out with Aiden.

“I’m here to pick you up from work. Didn’t you say you wanted to watch a movie before? Well, it’s your day off today,” Jonathan responded.

Only then did Rosalie suddenly remember that the celebrity she liked, Dominic, was about to have a new movie hit the theaters. Previously, she had seen the trailer on the Internet and mentioned she wanted to watch it.

Unexpectedly, he actually remembered and planned to take her to watch the movie this afternoon.

All of a sudden, Rosalie seemed to recall something and widened her eyes. “This movie… It’s premiering today.”

“Mhm. Why? Don’t you like watching premieres?” queried Jonathan.

“No, no.” She shook her head quickly. The problem was that not any Tom, Dick, or Harry could watch premieres. Moreover, there would surely be celebrities on-site, too.

“This is too…” she pondered.

Nonetheless, Rosalie tried hard to suppress the various imaginations in her mind, for she still had a task today.

Rosalie said, “I need to send Aiden to class, so I can’t go.”

With that, Jonathan’s gaze landed on the little kid next to Rosalie again.

“Why do you have to send him to class?” he asked, actually sounding a little jealous.

“Ms. Haab’s mother got injured and needs a minor leg surgery this afternoon. Ms. Haab has to go to the hospital accompany her mother, so I volunteered to take Aiden to his class today.”

Upon hearing this, Jonathan frowned a little in silence, whereas Aiden, standing beside Rosalie, seemed to be a bit uncomfortable with Jonathan’s gaze, so he unconsciously leaned closer to Rosalie and grabbed her arm with both hands nervously.

Rosalie naturally felt the emotional fluctuation of Aiden. She hurriedly crouched down to comfort him. “Don’t be afraid, Aiden. This man is a friend of mine. He’ll like you too.”

In order to make the boy understand her better, Rosalie tried to speak slower and also did a few sign language gestures.

After saying this, Rosalie turned her head again and said to Jonathan, “Don’t look so stern with Aiden. Smile more, or else the child will be scared.”

Jonathan raised an eyebrow slightly, thinking, “She’s already expressing her opinions for him.”

Perhaps even Rosalie herself hadn’t noticed that the tone she used to speak to Jonathan at this moment was unprecedented. If it were someone else, he would likely be displeased, but her words didn’t make him feel annoyed at all.

In fact, he actually liked her current casual attitude toward him. She was less cautious than before, as if the invisible gap between them was being filled up little by little.

“Since it’s your request, all right, then,” Jonathan answered, and the expression on his face became gentle. He smiled and tried to suppress the invisible sense of oppression within him.

Aiden blinked and gazed at Jonathan a little puzzledly as if sensing that this man was no longer scaring him like earlier.

Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and patted Aiden’s head. “Let’s send Aiden to class first.”

Jonathan nodded, and the trio got in the car. After Rosalie told the driver the address, the car headed for its destination.

In the vehicle, Aiden studied Jonathan curiously with his clear eyes. Jonathan took an indifferent glimpse of the boy. He thought, ‘Does Rosalie like kids like that? Human kids have no strength and depend on adults for everything, but it seems that they tend to capture the hearts of some women.

Just like now, this kid has evidently captured Rosalie’s heart.’

Seeing Rosalie lower her head to ask Aiden whether he was thirsty or not, Jonathan somehow felt like he was being neglected.

He didn’t see anything cute about a child like this, but for the sake of Rosalie, he could behave harmlessly in front of the child as well.

“What time does his class end?” Jonathan asked.

“It lasts two hours. Until four o’clock,” Rosalie answered.
