The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 258

Chapter 258

“Well… I can’t possibly tell everyone in the company about me having a boyfriend, can I?” If she really did that, her colleagues might think she was crazy.

“I see. All right, I got it,” he said.

She blinked her eyes. “What did he get? Why did I feel he didn’t understand?” she questioned inwardly.

The next day, in the design institute where Lillian worked, rumors about yesterday’s incident were everywhere. The colleagues’ gazes at Lillian gradually changed.

In fact, some colleagues mocked and ridiculed Lillian in front of her face, “You’re really something. Jade is Bradley’s girlfriend! Why are you meddling in their relationship?”

“Yeah, that’s right. Even if you want to be a mistress, at the very least, don’t do it in our institute!”

Lillian sneered and did not go easy on them. “What mistress? If you don’t really know what is going on, please find out by yourself. If I ever liked a man like Bradley, I would poke my eyes out myself!”

“Aren’t you thinking a bit highly of yourself? What’s so bad about Bradley? After all, he graduated from a top-tier university. It won’t be long before he is recruited by Petra Design Institute No. 1. Then, he’ll be successful,” said a colleague.

Their design institute was Petra Design Institute No. 2, a subsidiary of the company. However, their treatment in all aspects was worse than that of their counterpart, Petra Design Institute No. 1. Therefore, the people in the institute were expecting to enter Petra Design Institute No. 1 in the future.

At this moment, Jade and Bradley came over. After seeing Lillian, Jade suddenly sneered, “Lillian, I think you can pack up your things and find a new job now. Oh, but the economy is not good this year. Why don’t I ask my contacts in other design institutes to consider and hire you?”

Lillian frowned. She had heard that Jade’s father seemed to be a professor at the design institute, so he knew many people at multiple design institutes.

Hearing Jade’s words, Lillian immediately understood that the woman wanted to blacklist her from working in this industry. “She’s so shameless!” Lillian thought in anger.

Nevertheless, Lillian rolled her eyes and was not afraid of the threat. After all, she was positive she wouldn’t starve to death if she couldn’t work in this industry.

“Some people really thought they could control everything!” she added in her head.

“Forget it. If you have time to do this, I think it’s better for you to keep an eye on your boyfriend. But hey, what do I know? You two… Ha! You two are a perfect match. Unfortunately, your man is not up to my standards. My boyfriend is a whole lot better than Bradley here,” Lillian said.

“Your boyfriend? Do you really have a boyfriend?” Jade repeated incredulously. She thought Lillian was being stubborn. “If your so-called boyfriend really exists, you wouldn’t come on to Bradley. Am I right, Bradley?”

Bradley hurriedly acknowledged that meekly.

Lillian really didn’t like that part of Bradley. He was shameless when he harassed her initially, but now he cowered like this. “He’s such a coward,” commented Lillian inwardly.

At this moment, Lillian suddenly felt that Callum’s image in her heart became nobler. Compared with Bradley, Callum was an angel!

When Lillian was about to say something more, her gaze moved from Jade and the rest toward the company entrance. She saw the director of Petra Design Institute No. 2 walking in at this moment. “The problem is… the man next to the director… is Callum?” Lillian wondered.

Lillian blinked and stared again. She was right. It was Callum.

At the same time, Callum also saw her but didn’t say hello. He just smiled at her and then talked with the director of Petra Design Institute No. 2.

Based on Lillian’s observation, the director was talking to Callum with a respectful attitude. As they walked and talked, the director even asked his secretary to make coffee and take it into the office.

After thinking about it, Lillian understood they were not a well-known design institute in Strico. This was different from Petra Design Institute No. 1 since it was famous. As for Petra Design Institute No. 2, it was often regarded as a springboard to get into the more famous company.

Callum was the current head of White Maple Group. Therefore, it was understandable that the director treated him so respectfully like that. After all, if their company could establish a good relationship with the White Marple Group, it would be like striking gold.

“But… why is Callum here? After all, our design institute should be nothing to him,” she thought.

Soon, Callum and the director walked into the office. Jade looked at Lillian contemptuously and said, “What are you looking at? Do you know who that man is? That’s the chairman of White Maple Group. People like you are unworthy to stand in front of them.”

Lillian looked at Jade in surprise. The former didn’t expect that the latter knew Callum.

Actually, Jade was eager to try her chances. Since her father had a good relationship with the director, she was always helped when she worked in the institute.

Just now, the director bumped into her just before he went out. He told her that the chairman of White Maple Group. suddenly said he would visit the institute. Although he didn’t know the chairman’s intention, the director told her he would find an opportunity to let her display her abilities in front of the big shot of the White Maple Group.

Such an opportunity was rare. So when she knew about that, she hurriedly searched on the Internet to find out who the chairman of White Maple Group was, but she didn’t expect that the man himself looked younger than the photos she found online.

Looking at Callum, who had just entered the director’s office, Jade glanced at her boyfriend beside her. Suddenly, she felt that Bradley had become a little unattractive to her.

Soon, the secretary informed all the staff in the office to go to the conference room for a meeting and said there was something important to inform.

Instantly, 40 to 50 people gathered in the conference room. Because of the limited conference table seats, some lower-level employees moved their stools into the meeting room and sat against the wall.

Lillian was also a member of those stool takers.

When Lillian found a corner and put down the stool, she saw many others coming in one after another. To her surprise, even the cleaning lady came in with the stool for the meeting.

“What is this important matter they’ll tell us at the meeting? They wanted every single one of us to attend,” Lillian wondered. When the conference room was filled with people, the director and Callum entered. Normally, the director’s seat would be the front part of a room. However, Callum’s seat was next to the director’s this time.

It could be seen how much the director held Callum in high regard.
