Rosalie went to bed early because Jonathan had scheduled a physical examination for her the following day. “I really wish I’d get to know you earlier,” Jonathan suddenly murmured.
If he had known her earlier, there might be a better start between him and her. She wouldn’t have to suffer from three years in prison, and he would not be uneasy because of something he feared she would know.
Rosalie suddenly felt that, at that moment, Jonathan’s eyes seemed to contain too many emotions she couldn’t understand.
“All right, let’s go,” he said while taking her hand and going downstairs. It was her physical examination day, so she had to go to the hospital on an empty stomach. Therefore, they had to skip breakfast.
Jonathan got in the car with Rosalie and watched her tie up her hair with one of the hair ties he bought yesterday. It was just a simple black hair band, but it didn’t reveal the white rubber band inside like the hair band she used yesterday.
That made him feel much more comfortable.
She was so important to him, but he wondered why he didn’t notice those things before. Thinking of the moment he saw the hair ties she wore the day before, he only felt a pang of hurt and discomfort.
He had never experienced this feeling before. Only she could highlight the stark contrast that despite his immense wealth, he allowed her to wear damaged hair ties.
If she hadn’t been in jail from the beginning, all that wouldn’t have happened.
It could be said that her destitution was not because of him, but it was indirectly related to him.
“Is this hair tie working well?” Jonathan asked nonchalantly.
“Not bad,” said Rosalie. Although the price was indeed expensive, the quality was much better than that cheap one.
“That’s good. I will ask someone to buy the other brand for you later. You can compare which one is better,” he said.
