The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 226

Chapter 226

What caught Fraya off guard was that the woman she expected to create a scene remained silent, merely observing her with composure. On the other hand, the man she was interested in retorted icily, “Get lost.”

Fraya’s eyes widened in surprise. It was the first time someone had said these two words to her.

“You…” Fraya blushed while Jonathan pulled Rosalie into the elevator.

Fraya subconsciously wanted to enter the elevator, but when she saw Jonathan’s cold eyes, her body suddenly trembled, and her feet seemed glued to the floor.

After the elevator door closed, Scarlett Brooks, who was next to Fraya, couldn’t help saying, “This man is so rude. Does he not know any manners?”

Fraya gritted her teeth with hatred. She had never been insulted like this before, and she was always flattered by others. The bitterness of this rejection was hard for her to swallow.

She noticed the elevator descending and eventually coming to a halt on the first floor. Fraya quickly pulled Scarlett into the elevator, descended to the first floor, and rushed out. Once outside, she spotted the man and woman she had encountered earlier heading toward the nearby parking lot.

Fraya said, “I’ll drive the car over. Keep an eye on them.”

“Sure,” Scarlett replied. Their friendship was complicated since the Yoder family held significant power, and Fraya was essentially the little princess of that family. As a result, Scarlett often found herself in the role of Fraya’s sidekick.

Fraya rushed to her parked car and drove out immediately. She planned to tail the man and woman, hoping to discover their address. This would make it much easier to find out who they were.

Fraya swore to win this man’s heart. She wanted him to regret what he had said to her just now.

As Fraya’s car exited the parking lot, she received a call from Scarlett. Then, she drove the car and stopped in front of Scarlett. She got in the car quickly and said to Fraya, “They just got into the Bentley in front of you.”

Fraya was dumbfounded and stared at the Bentley stopped at the traffic light ahead. She asked, ‘Is it really that car? Are you absolutely certain?” Fraya recited the license plate number of the Bentley she had observed.

“It’s definitely the

one,” Scarlett affirmed, almost raising her hand as if to swear by it. “They definitely got into this car.”

Fraya’s expression darkened. She was no stranger to luxury cars, but this one was a limited edition worth at least millions of dollars. It wasn’t the type of car that could be casually bought with money alone.

She wondered, “How can the man and the woman afford such a car? The car must have belonged to the man. That woman doesn’t seem like someone who could own a car like this.”

Fraya continued to tail behind Jonathan and Rosalie. She was determined to find out who the man was.

On the other side, Jonathan, driving in the car ahead, glanced at the rearview mirror before stopping at a traffic light and dialing a number. He spoke directly to the person on the other end, saying, “There’s a white BMW tailing my car. The license plate number is…”

Rosalie, sitting in the passenger seat, was stunned. “Is there a car following us?”

“I think so. It’s been following us for a while,” Jonathan said.

“Then who did you just call?”

“The director of the Department of Transportation,” he said.

“Ahem!” Rosalie nearly choked on her saliva as she thought, “Did he just call the director of the Department of Transportation difectly? Only a handful of people in Strico have that kind of influence.”

The traffic light at the intersection turned green. Jonathan continued driving ahead, and Rosalie started to pay attention to the car trailing them through the rearview mirror.

As expected, despite several cars between them, the white BMW continued to follow closely behind them.

Suddenly, Rosalie saw a police car approaching and signaling for the white BMW to pull over to the side of the road. Two policemen emerged from the police car, and after that, she couldn’t see anything in the rearview mirror.

“Is this police car sent by the Department of Transportation?” Rosalie wondered. She was astonished and began to grasp the extent of Jonathan’s influence on Strico.

Fraya showed her ID card and driver’s license under the glare of two policemen, sighing in her heart for her bad luck.

She wondered why the police had pulled them over. As far as she knew, they hadn’t violated any rules. Initially, they had already caught up with the car, but now it had disappeared completely from their view.

Fortunately, she asked Scarlett to take a picture of the license plate number of that car. She could find out whose car it was

after some investigation.

After the police left, Fraya made a phone call and asked her cousin to check the license plate number and see who the owner

was.

Her cousin had a vast network, so it was easy for him to do the investigation.

However, in less than ten minutes, her cousin urgently called and asked, “Fraya, who is the person you are looking into?”

“What’s happening? What’s the matter?” Fraya said in a puzzled tone. She had only intended to identify the car’s owner through its license plate.

“There’s a problem,” her cousin replied hastily. “The owner of the license plate you’re checking doesn’t disclose their name in the system; it’s marked as ‘confidential. This indicates that only specific authorized individuals can access their information. What kind of person are you dealing with?”

Fraya was both surprised and incredulous, She raised her head to gaze at the intersection where she had lost sight of the car, her emotions in turmoil.

“Who the hell is that man?” she wondered.

When Rosalie and Jonathan returned to the Youngblood Residence, Jonathan received a call. After this call was over, Jonathan took the initiative to say to Rosalie, “The people who were following us just now are those two women we met in front of the elevator of the mall.”

“So it was them. But why were they following…” She paused midway through her sentence, realizing that the reason those two women were tailing them must be related to Jonathan.

Back in school, a girl in her class used to take the same bus driven by that particular driver every day. The girl even followed him home after work to get his address, all because she had a crush on the bus driver.

This kind of behavior was actually a little terrifying to think about carefully.

“If they try it again, it won’t be as simple as it was this time,” Jonathan remarked as he glanced at Rosalie. He asked, “What’s your take on today’s events?”

Rosalie blinked her eyes and thought for a while. “Isn’t it normal that someone has a crush on you?” After all, Jonathan’s looks were undoubtedly attractive to women.
