The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 210

Chapter 210

“Now, another man wants me to tie his necktie for him, but how long will we last?” Rosalie wondered.

She didn’t know. Rosalie never dared think about a future with Jonathan, even though they both had feelings for each other now, and he had accepted her infertility.

After all, the gap between them was massive to begin with. Although they were dating now, she wasn’t confident there would really be a future for them.

“What’s wrong?” His voice interrupted her wandering thoughts.

“Nothing. Can you… bend down?” Rosalie asked.

Because of their height differences, it was a little difficult for her to tie his necktie for him if he didn’t bend over.

Jonathan bent down compliantly, which also closed the distance between their faces.

She raised her hands and gently lifted his collar before placing the tie around his neck, beginning to help him tie it.

“You know that I’m putting my life in your hands now, right?” Jonathan’s voice suddenly sounded in a low tone.

Rosalie’s fingers abruptly stilled, and she gazed at the face that was mere inches from hers.

“You just need to tighten the tie if you want to end my life now.” He smiled lightly, looking alluring and refined. “So, in this life, you’re the only woman who can tie my necktie. There will be no other women besides you, Rosie.”

When Rosalie arrived at the diner, Jonathan’s smile and the things he said still lingered in her mind. “He said… There will be no other women who can tie his necktie for him in this life…” she mused.

No matter whether his words would really come true in the future, he was extremely serious about her now, at the least. Contrary to her, who feared picturing a future with him, he had already envisioned theirs.

At half past one in the afternoon, the diner received an order of 20 fast food meals in total. As the location was a little far from the diner, it would take 40 minutes to go back and forth.

Rosalie only learned that a shooting was ongoing at the location upon sending the food over, and the 20 fast food meals were ordered by the staff there.

At present, it was the film crew’s break time, so many people were either eating while standing, squatting, or sitting on a small stool.

Of course, most of these people were either extras or regular film crew staff since the main casts would have better benefits, such as a private lounge.

Rosalie put down the food and was about to leave when someone stopped her. “Hey, why is there an insect in your boxed meal?”

Rosalie took a closer look and, indeed, found an unknown insect lying in the boxed meal. She immediately frowned. This boxed meal didn’t look like someone had started eating it yet, and only the lid of it was opened.

Earlier, when she entered the kitchen, she had seen the chef packing the food into the lunchboxes with her own eyes, and this insect wasn’t on the surface of the food then.

Not only that, but each lunchbox was packed in its individual plastic bag, so it was unlikely for insects to fly into the lunchbox during delivery.

“Then, this is probably…” pondered Rosalie.

Sure enough, what the other party said next also indirectly confirmed her speculation.

“How about this? We don’t wanna make a fuss either. Just refund us the money for these 20 fast food meals and pay us another 1,000 dollars as compensation. After all, some of us here have already started to eat the food you guys sent. Who knows if there are any insects in the rest of the lunchboxes as well?”

After this person finished speaking, several others also stood up and surrounded Rosalie, obviously wanting to put some pressure on her.

Rosalie scanned the surroundings and noticed this was a semi-outdoor establishment-a coffee shop that the film crew rented for the shooting. There was a surveillance camera on the left front of where they were currently situated, but she didn’t know if it had been turned on today due to the shoot.

Further away, some fans were squatting outside, blocked by a circle of fence. Some of them were resting while others were still holding their phones up, seemingly for the sake of taking photos of their idols as they waited for a chance to see the

celebrities.

“Well, it’s not up to me. I’m just a delivery person. I’ll let my boss know about it.” As Rosalie spoke, she took out her phone and called Amelia to tell the latter about the situation.

After hearing Rosalie’s words, Amelia instructed, “Just come back first. Tell them I’ll talk to them after the diner closes today

if they have any conditions.”

Rosalie didn’t put the call on speaker, so the people surrounding her didn’t know what Amelia had just said.

“Okay,” Rosalie answered before ending the call and putting away her phone.

However, she secretly switched on the recording function of her phone as she put it away.

“How is it? When will we get the money?” asked someone who appeared to be the leader.

Rosalie chuckled lightly. “Did you know that 1,000 dollars is already considered a large amount in the crime of fraud? If one is sentenced, the imprisonment can be up to three years.”

The expressions of the people around Rosalie suddenly changed. “What do you mean by that? Are you saying that I’m committing fraud?”

“The evidence will prove whether you are or not. Look, there are still many fans holding their phones around here. Maybe some of them accidentally captured something on their cameras. In addition, this order cannot be refunded. As for this boxed meal in question, we can leave it to the police to handle just to be fair for everyone.”

Those people exchanged glances before the leader glared daggers at Rosalie. “I’m warning you; you’d better tell your boss to compensate us accordingly. Otherwise, don’t even think about operating that diner anymore.”

“Is this a threat?” Rosalie countered.

“Yeah, it is. So what?” That person was blunt.

Right then, Rosalie could say with certainty that these people had already plotted to extort money from the diner from the beginning.

“I’m just an employee, so it’s unnecessary for you to threaten me. As for this lunchbox, you can keep the evidence and let the police handle it. Also…” Rosalie trailed off, looking at those people coldly. “If you guys really want to do something irrational to our diner, I can tell you that I will definitely file a lawsuit and sue you. By then, it will no longer be solely a matter of 1,000 dollars.”

Rosalie knew Amelia wasn’t well off, especially since Aiden’s hearing required a lot of money to treat. Even if he installed cochlear implants in the future, money still needed to be spent on training courses to teach him how to listen and speak.

Therefore, the moment Rosalie warned those people, she had already thought of asking Jonathan for help if necessary.
