The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 1366

Chapter 1366

Amelia felt her hand was so empty. No matter how hard she wanted someone to stay, she would still fail to do so.

Amelia smiled bitterly. Then she got up and walked out of the room as well.

As soon as Amelia walked out of the room, she saw Warren answering a call.

“Okay, I got it. I’ll be right back.” After finishing the call, Warren put away his phone and turned around, only to see Amelia standing behind him.

Warren’s eyes flicked slightly, and then he said, “Today’s appointment has to be suspended. I have to go home now.”

“What happened?” Amelia hurriedly asked.

“I have something to deal with. I didn’t want to go, but… My mom asked me to,” said Warren. “I might go back quite late tonight.”

After saying that, Warren was about to leave.

Amelia suddenly grabbed his arm. “Do you really have to do that today?”

Warren glanced at Amelia and said, “Yes. If you think the time we spent together so far today is still not enough, I can compensate you next time.”

Amelia felt a pain in her heart. She thought, “Compensate? It sounds like a deal. No, today is a deal between us indeed. I trade Warren’s company for one day with our divorce.”

“I’ll go home with you,” said Amelia. “As for the rest of the time… You don’t have to compensate me. I will sign the divorce agreement after 12 o’clock tonight.”

Warren looked at Amelia in surprise. After a while, he said casually, “As you wish.”

They left the cinema and got in the car. When they returned to the villa, they saw Lydia and Melissa were both there.

Melissa was wearing a high-end dress and delicate makeup. She looked like she was going to attend a banquet.

As soon as Lydia saw Warren, she said, “I asked Melissa to go to the banquet with you. She can take care of you if you feel unwell.”

Warren frowned slightly, and then Lydia added, “You know that today’s banquet is to dispel those rumors about your condition. I’ll feel more relieved if Melissa goes with you.”

Warren pondered for a moment and then acquiesced to Lydia’s arrangement. “I’ll go get changed.” Then he went upstairs.

Only Lydia, Melissa and Amelia were left in the living room.

Lydia looked at Amelia and said, “I heard that you asked Warren to go out with you today. I thought you would at least care about his condition. He’s too weak to go out for too long now. You really don’t care about Warren at all. If you take him out for nothing important again next time,

I’ll…”

“There’s no next time,” said Amelia.

“What do you mean?” Lydia asked.

“I will sign the divorce agreement and go back to Strico tomorrow.” Amelia gently smiled. “I don’t think I will come here again in the future. So you can rest assured, Mrs. York.”

Lydia was stunned and didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Hearing this, Melissa immediately chuckled secretly. She thought, “Amelia wants to divorce Mr. York? And she’s gonna go back to Strico ap never come to Lofbury again?! That’ll be wonderful!”

After a long while, Lydia said, “You mean it this time, right? You won’t g back on your word as you did before, will you?”

Amelia knew that Lydia was talking about last time, she had promised to completely break up with Warren in the hospital, but in the end, she took the initiative to come to Lofbury to see Warren. In fact, she did that for Riley last time. She hoped Warren could drop the lawsuit.

“I won’t,” said Amelia.

Lydia stared at Amelia and said, “I’ll believe you for the last time, then. I hope you won’t let me down.”

Amelia didn’t say anything more. She just looked up at the stairs and waited for that figure to appear. For her, she would be glad to look at Warren for even one more minute.

Amelia wanted to see Warren more. She wanted to imprint his face in her mind.

Finally, Warren appeared.

In a black suit, Warren was much thinner than before. He walked down the stairs step by step elegantly with his back straightened.

With neat hair and a handsome but serious face, Warren looked delicate.

When Warren walked to the living room, Melissa took the initiative to step forward and held his arm. She said to Lydia, “Don’t worry, Mrs. York. I will take care of Mr. York at the banquet tonight.”

“Sure. Pay attention to the time when Warren has to take medicine. Don’t let him be too tired. Call me if you need anything,” said Lydia.

Warren greeted Lydia and then left the villa with Melissa.

Amelia watched them pass her. Her eyes were full of reluctance, and she wanted to reach out to grab Warren and ask him to stay with her for a while. Because this kind of company wouldn’t happen again.

But in the end, Amelia didn’t do anything but just watch…

She watched Warren gradually disappear from her sight.

After a while, Lydia also left. Before leaving, she just stared at Amelia again and said, “I only hope that my son can spend the rest of his life peacefully, but he can’t do that as long as he’s with you. I hope you can let him go since he has donated liver to you twice!”

Amelia could only say, “I will. I also hope Warren can be safe and guard.”

When Amelia was the only one left in the living room, she searched the Internet on her phone and learned that Warren had gone to a famous charity gala in Lofbury tonight.

There were also some comments saying that Warren’s participation in the charity gala broke the previous rumors about the serious illness of the head of the York Group.

There were some live videos taken by others on the Internet, and Amelia specially found the videos about Warren to watch.

In the video, although Warren was thinner now, he looked quite lively. He was chatting with others in the video. Melissa was with him, looking shy and charming.

The comments of the video were all guessing the relationship between Melissa and Warren.

Looking at the video, Amelia’s eyes were sour as if tears would surge at any time.

Amelia thought, “In the end, I’m still not the one who can be with Warren. He might have Melissa or other women around him, but… there’s no place for me. Maybe ending this marriage and going back to Strico is the best choice for me.”

After turning off her phone, Amelia just sat in the living room and waited silently. Time passed by. She didn’t know how long she had been waiting. She finally stood up and turned to look at the door when she heard some noise.
