The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 1323

Chapter 1323

There were also free drinks in the bar. It only charged 2 dollars an hour. Hanna often came here to read some new comic books.

Although the network was well-developed now and many comic books could be seen online, Hanna still preferred to read paper books.

Hanna led Calvin to an unoccupied sofa and said, “If you want to read a comic book, you can look for one on the bookshelf. What kind of drink do you want? I’ll get it for you.”

“Just some water,” Calvin said.

Hanna brought Calvin a glass of water and a cup of orange juice for herself. When she came back to her seat, she found that Calvin was reading a comic book in his hand.

But when Hanna caught a glimpse of the cover of the book, she was shocked. It was… It was a comic book she wrote.

But the problem was that Hanna had never told Calvin that her pseudonym was “Liana Zimmerman” at all!

But on second thought, Hanna thought it made sense since Calvin could find out her name, occupation, and home address.

Hanna felt a little embarrassed watching a man read a comic book she wrote in front of her. The comic book had a neurotic male lead who was very domineering towards his lover. Besides, it contained many intimate scenes.

Seeing that Calvin was about to see those episodes, Hanna quickly said, “Mr. Gunner… Your water!”

Calvin looked up at Hanna and reached out his hand to take the water. “Thank you, and I think we need to make a change about how we address each other. We don’t look like a couple at all if you always call me ‘Mr. Gunner. What do you think, Hanna?”

Hearing Calvin call her “Hanna”, Hanna only felt her heartbeat quicken.

This was the first time he had called her name since they started their fake relationship. As for colleagues at work, they were more likely to call her pseudonym “Liana”.

“Then I’ll call you… ‘Cal’?” Hanna addressed Calvin that way in the context of their conversation.

Calvin’s eyes, however, suddenly changed, but his long eyelashes covered his eyes, making it hard for Hanna to notice the change in his look. “Call me ‘Calvin’. Don’t call him ‘Cal’ in the future.”

Rosalie called Calvin that way when they were children, so it would remind him of Rosalie whenever he heard the word ‘Cal’ as if it had been carved into his bones and could not be erased.

“Okay,” Hanna replied quickly. Meanwhile, she couldn’t help blaming herself for being stupid just now. She thought, “It’s improper for me to call him that way, isn’t it?”

“Then you can call me by my name now,” Calvin said.

“Now?” Hanna blinked.

“Then when?” Calvin said casually.

“C-Calvin…” Hanna moved her lips and called Calvin awkwardly.

“You will get used to it soon,” Calvin said, lowering his head and continuing to read the comic book in his hand.

Just as Calvin was about to turn pages, Hanna suddenly shouted in a hurry, “Um… How about I find another comic book for you?”

“No, I haven’t finished this book yet,” Calvin said.

“But… But…” Hanna blushed slightly.

Calvin looked at Hanna and said, “What? You don’t like me reading the comic book you write?”

“The comic books I wrote and drew were all about love stories that girls usually like. You guys probably don’t like to read them, do you?” Hanna explained. “Actually, you don’t have to force yourself to read it.”

“Nothing of the sort. I watch some love dramas, so I don’t reject such comics. Besides, we need to know each other better,” Calvin said.

But what worried Hanna were those intimate scenes in the book, and there were quite a lot in the later sections!

Hanna grabbed Calvin’s finger in a hurry when she saw that Calvin was about to turn the page again.

“Hmm?” Calvin raised his eyebrows and looked at Hanna. “You don’t want me to read it, do you?”

Hanna smiled and said awkwardly, “Well… Pictures on the next page contain some content for adults only.”

“Since it has been published, I guess it must be in line with the current domestic publishing standards,” Calvin said calmly.

“Well, yes, and I just said… Um, some,” Hanna explained quickly.

“Okay, it doesn’t matter. But you don’t take me as a man under eighteen who is not suitable to see those pictures, do you? If you really don’t want me to read it, I can stop right now.”

Hanna’s hand froze in the air. She hesitated for a moment and then withdrew her hand.

Hanna wrote and drew comics because she wanted to share those beautiful stories with others. She wanted more people to see them.

Calvin continued to read the comic book.

Hanna couldn’t help but get nervous because she knew that there were many scenes of kissing. Moreover, she gave a description of the wedding night of the male and female leads. Although she focused on aesthetics and the pictures about the sex were a bit blurred, she was sure that people could basically tell from the pictures what was going on between the male and female leads that night.

Calvin looked at the book quietly, turning pages with his slender fingers occasionally. The sunlight mixed with the indoor light shone on him, forming a warm picture.

Calvin had short hair, tanned skin, a straight nose, and thin lips. His eyelashes looked more conspicuous when he lowered his head slightly to read the book in his hand.

Even in showbiz where there were many beautiful men, it was rare to find a man whose eyelashes were as beautiful and long as Calvin’s. Besides, Calvin didn’t wear any makeup.

Suddenly, Hanna had an impulse to draw the scene in front of her. She took out a pen and a notebook that she usually used to record her inspiration and began to draw on a piece of blank paper.

When Calvin looked up after reading the book in his hand, he found Hanna was painting.

And what Hanna painted… was him!

It was not a cartoon image, but a sketch.

“Please sit still. It will be okay soon!” Hanna suddenly said. At the same time, she paced up her painting.

Calvin’s eyes flashed slightly, but he did not move as Hanna required. He continued to maintain the posture just now.

But Calvin’s eyes seemed to be riveted on Hanna who was sitting opposite him.

At this moment, the embarrassment and fluster that showed in Hanna’s eyes were gone and replaced by concentration. Her round eyes were full of indescribable seriousness.

It was the first time that Calvin had been looked at by a woman with such pure eyes. There was no ambition, desire, or obsession in Hanna’s eyes as if she just wanted to look at him quietly.
