Riley thought that she would use legal means to take back the shares of Summer’s family, sell them off, and put the money into an archaeological undertaking. That was a career in which both she and Nicholas were interested.
At that time, Nicholas planned to go abroad for archaeological studies. After returning home in the future, he intended to make some contributions to archaeology.
In that case, she could fulfill Nicholas’s unrealized wish.
However, there was another important thing before he could realize his wish. She had to exchange blood for Hendrick.
That was her child! She had given birth to him, and now she was going to save the child!
Just then, the phone rang. Riley picked up her phone and found it was from the hospital.
“Is it Ms. Riley Summer? Here’s the hospital. Regarding the blood exchange of Hendrick, could you come to the hospital for a comprehensive physical examination tomorrow?” The phone call said.
Although Riley had done some examinations before donating blood to Hendrick last time, now he needed a more detailed examination for the specific change of blood.
Therefore, the blood demand would be much larger than that of the last time.
“Okay, no problem,” Riley answered. After making an appointment with him, the call ended.
The next day, Riley came to the hospital. The nurse gave her a series of confirmations and asked her to sign them before drawing blood and taking films for her. It was almost like having a full-body physical examination.
Riley cooperated with the whole process without a complaint.
After the physical examination, Hendrick’s attending physician called Riley to the office for an interview. When Riley walked into the office, she found that Zephyr was also there.
But now Zephyr looked much more haggard and thinner than she saw him a few days ago.
Riley just took a faint glance, then withdrew her gaze and looked at the attending physician.
The attending physician began to explain Hendrick’s current condition and said, “I hope we can change the blood for Hendrick as soon as possible. If there is no abnormality in your physical examination, Ms. Summer, we can do it the day after tomorrow, okay?”
“Yes,” Riley said without hesitation.
“But you need to donate a lot of blood at once, which is a heavy load on your body. After all, this is different from ordinary blood in peacetime,” The doctor said.
“It doesn’t matter. I am mentally prepared,” Riley answered.
During the conversation, Riley could feel that Zephyr’s eyes were always looking at her.

When the doctor finished speaking, Riley said, “Okay. I’ll be here on time the day after tomorrow. Anything else?”
The doctor shook his head. “Nope.”
Riley got up and left the doctor’s office. But when she walked to the corridor, there was a rapid footstep behind her.
Zephyr ran over and stopped Riley. “Are you going back now?”
“What else?” She asked.
“You… Aren’t you going to visit Hendrick?” He asked.
“Hendrick?”
Riley’s eyes flashed slightly, and there was hesitation on her face.
That was her child… Although she hadn’t brought her child for a day or cultivated any feelings over the years, she was lucky to know that her children were still alive. She even cried several days late at night.
She wanted to see the child, talk to him, touch and hug him!
She had never hugged him since he was born.
Seeing Riley’s hesitation, Zephyr continued, “Hendrick was awake yesterday. Although he is still weak now, you can go and see him. But…”
He pursed his thin lips and added, “Because he is still weak now, I blocked the news outside. I didn’t tell him that you are his biological mother. When you see him later, don’t tell him that you are his mother.”
“I see,” Riley said indifferently, and the expression on her face didn’t show her emotions at all.
On the contrary, Zephyr explained uneasily, “I just want to tell him that you are her mother after he gets better. I don’t intend to hide it.”
“To say or not, it doesn’t matter to me, Riley said. She only hoped that this child could live well and be free from diseases for life.

It was undoubtedly the best for Hendrick to stay in the Scott family. Obviously, they could afford to provide Hendrick with a rich life and meticulous care which she couldn’t afford.
And Hendrick had been used to living with the Scott family for so many years and he got accustomed to being accompanied by the relatives of the Scott family. She was just a stranger to him.
But her words made Zephyr sad.
He hoped that everything could be changed and Hendrick would become an opportunity for her to accept him again.
Even though it might take a long time and energy to make it, he was willing to do so.
But now, she told him that nothing would change.
Was she telling him that she would never accept him?
Zephyr almost staggered with Riley to the ward of Hendrick.
Unlike Riley saw him last time, he didn’t wear an oxygen mask on his face and looked fine. He was sitting on the hospital bed and playing with the assembly toys of the car model.
