The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 1267

Chapter 1267

But she could only watch through the glass wall, unable to do anything.

All she could do was hope for the baby’s own vitality to be strong enough to get through this.

“By the way, Amelia, have you chosen a name for the child?” Sitting by the hospital bed, Rosalie asked.

“Yes, I have,” Amelia said. When she mentioned her daughter’s name, a faint smile appeared on her lips. “Her name is Zinnia York.”·

“Her last name is York?” Rosalie was a bit surprised.

“Yes, York,” Amelia answered confidently. She wanted this child to bear the York surname.

“What does ‘Zinnia’ mean?” Rosalie asked again.

“It means ‘I miss you,” Amelia replied.

Hearing this, Rosalie understood. Perhaps this ‘Zinnia’ represented longing. Even though Amelia hadn’t expressed her emotions regarding Warren’s departure, deep down… she was probably still yearning for him,

She used to say her love for Warren was shallow.

But the depth of emotions could change.

Presently, Amelia’s love for Warren might be much deeper! What Amelia didn’t know was that the liver inside her body was donated by Warren.

The two of them were already intricately connected.

Leaving Amelia’s ward, Rosalie asked Jonathan, “How is Warren now?”

“He’s still in the hospital, and it seems he will stay there for a while. Moreover, he will need extensive recovery time in the future,” Jonathan said. “This liver donation almost cost him his life. I found out later that the surgery was extremely risky at one point. He was lucky to pull through; fate played a role. Otherwise, he might not have made it off the operating table.”

“I hope in the future, when Amelia recovers and Zinnia leaves the ICU, Amelia can let go of her worries and reunite with Warren,” Rosalie said. Warren had sacrificed so much for Amelia.

Even though Warren had made mistakes before, he had paid the price over the years.

“If Amelia is willing, they will be together,” Jonathan said.

“But will Warren still be willing? After all, his feelings for Amelia might not be as strong as before,” Rosalie expressed her concern.

“He risked his life to save Amelia. How could he not be willing? Hypnosis might help forget feelings, but those deeply engraved memories, how can they be easily forgotten?” Jonathan clarified. “In the end, it depends on whether Amelia is willing to take that step.”

“I hope Amelia and Warren have a good ending, and I hope Riley can find new evidence soon, so Harriet can’t escape legal consequences,” Rosalie said.

“How come Riley’s case is facing complications again?” Jonathan asked.

“The doctors involved in the case changed their testimonies collectively. Their statements only implicated Riley’s father and stepmother, while Harriet was left out. It’s probably the work of the Scott family, trying to clear Harriet’s name quickly.” Rosalie analyzed.

“This complicates things. If they can’t find solid evidence, it might be difficult to convict her in the future,” Jonathan said. The Scott family was not a simple force; their influence in Lommore was significant.

“Riley is currently gathering other evidence, and the Griffin family has agreed to help her.”

“The Griffin family is willing to help her?” Jonathan was quite surprised considering how much Bruce had despised Riley before.

“Because Harriet might have orchestrated the car accident that led to Nicholas’s death! Moreover, Harriet was indeed the biggest beneficiary o that accident,” Rosalie said.

Jonathan raised an eyebrow. “It seems the Scott family might be unaware that Harriet was the mastermind behind that accident. If they knew, Zephyr probably wouldn’t have married her.”

“They probably don’t know yet. But for now, Riley doesn’t want too many people to know, especially the Scott family. She’s afraid of alerting them, which might hinder the evidence collection later.”

Jonathan sighed softly. “When the truth comes out, Zephyr might be severely shaken.”

“He brought it upon himself. He claimed to love Riley, yet he didn’t trust her. When Riley was sent to the psychiatric hospital, he turned a blind eye and then married Harriet. Maybe, in his eyes, it’s all about

self-interest. Whoever has shares in Summer Group and helps his career, he would marry them.”

Rosalie had no sympathy for Zephyr at all.

Jonathan lowered his eyes. In his view, Zephyr might not lack love for Riley; that love might have been clouded by jealousy. Back at the hospital, when Amelia played Riley’s video in front of the media, Zephyr’s shock and pain were genuine.

When everything came to light, and Zephyr realized Riley had never betrayed him, that would be the moment he fell into the abyss!

The Griffin family acted swiftly. Before long, they had already located Jocelyn’s brother, Shawn.

And now Shawn was in Lommore, owning a few houses and running a bakery. He had a loving wife and children, living a fairly good life.

However, when Riley investigated the timeline of Shawn’s rise, she discovered that the several houses he owned, including his current shop, were purchased many years ago.

Given the financial status of the Howland family back then, it was impossible for them to afford two houses and a storefront. These properties, totaling over one million, somewhat matched the 1.2 million missing from Harriet’s account.

Riley went to the hospital, armed with the information provided by the Griffin family. Shawn was in the hospital for about a week due to sudden hearing loss and required treatment.

Riley wanted to talk to Shawn first and gauge his reactions.

But as she arrived at the inpatient department, she overheard a nurse rushing past her, murmuring, “Is the blood type B in the hospital’s blood bank really running out? What about the child?”

“Who would’ve thought? We just received two accident patients who need major surgery, and both of them are B-type. The B-type blood from the hospital has already been used for them.”

“If we get blood from the blood bank, it’ll take over an hour.”

“Dr. Hoffman already said to check the hospital staff first to see if anyone is B-type and can donate blood to the child. The child needs a full blood transfusion, and that requires a substantial amount of blood!”

Riley hurried forward and approached the two nurses who were about to enter the elevator. “Is there a child in urgent need of B-type blood? I have B-type blood, and I’m willing to donate.”
