Chapter 1261
“Everything comes down to luck. It depends on this child’s luck and mine.” Her voice quivered slightly, and she lowered her head. She spoke to the little fetus inside her belly, which had only just begun to have a heartbeat. “My child, please be strong and let me bring you into this world, okay? I really want to see you,”
In response to her, Jonathan hugged her.
It would be another week before they could roughly determine if it was suitable for her to continue the pregnancy. However, the situation was not as bad as expected based on the current examination.
Rosalie told herself to try to keep a jovial mood, and now she started to supplement more nutrition to help her child absorb more nutrients.
The two of them walked toward the inpatient department and planned to visit Amelia. However, Amelia’s ward in the inpatient department was empty when they arrived, and even the bodyguards Jonathan had sent to protect Amelia were nowhere to be seen.
Rosalie hurriedly asked the nurse at the nurses’ station, and it was only from the nurse that they learned that Amelia’s condition had just suddenly taken a turn for the worse. After the doctor checked her condition, they directly took her to the operating room for a C-section.
“What? She’s having a C-section now?” Rosalie was shocked.
“Yes. The patient originally wanted to hold on for a few more days before giving birth to the baby. However, the doctor said that it’s very likely that both the mother and the child will be in danger if they don’t perform a cesarean section now,” the nurse explained.
Rosalie’s heart sank instantly. The baby was merely seven months old even though they were proceeding with a C-section. Nevertheless, the chances of survival for a seven-month-old fetus were relatively low.
She knew that Amelia originally wanted to hold on until the baby was eight months old before giving birth to it.
The doctor’s urgent decision to rush Amelia to have a C-section indicated the situation should be critical.
After asking the nurse about the location of the C-section operating room, Rosalie and Jonathan hurriedly made their way to the waiting area.
Rosalie spotted Matilda and the bodyguards there.
The two bodyguards hurriedly came forward to report the situation, while Matilda was on the verge of tears. “What do we do? Weren’t we just talking about waiting another week or two for the C-section? Why did this suddenly… The doctor was saying it was quite serious. Will Amelia be okay?”
At that moment, the elderly woman was in a panic.
Rosalie hurriedly comforted Matilda, saying, “I asked the nurse earlier. The doctors who are operated on Amelia all top-notch, and they had been studying Amelia’s condition all along. Everything will be fine. Amelia will surely pull through.”
However, there was one thing Rosalie did not say. The doctor had previously mentioned that Amelia’s liver was under an immense burden. Amelia was likely to have a life expectancy of less than a year if she did not get a liver transplant following the C-section.
However, they had not yet found a suitable liver donor at present. The only person who could donate a liver to Amelia was Warren, but Warren was currently now…
After comforting Matilda for a while, Rosalie called Warren.
The phone rang several times before the call was finally picked up. “What’s the matter?” Warren’s cold voice came from the other end of the line.
“Amelia has a sudden emergency today. Her condition is critical, and the doctor is currently performing an emergency C-section on Amelia in the operating room. I think, at the very least, as Amelia’s current husband and the father of the child, you should come and see her,” she said.
There was silence on the other end of the phone.
Rosalie’s heartbeat also raced, and she nervously awaited his response.
She mused, “Will Warren come? If he does, it will mean that Amelia still holds a place in his heart. If he doesn’t it suggests he has chosen to completely move on from Amelia.”
In the end, all Rosalie heard was the tone signaling the end of the call.
Warren had simply hung up the call without saying anything.
Rosalie couldn’t help but feel her heart sink and thought, “Is Warren not coming?”
“What’s wrong?” Jonathan, who was next to Rosalie, asked, “Isn’t Warren coming?”
She answered, “He hung up the call directly. I know it isn’t right to guilt-trip him, so I just asked him to come over and see without saying anything else. I was thinking that maybe when Warren sees his child, he might feel a touch of compassion for Amelia. Then, he might be willing to save Amélia.”

“He will come.” Jonathan replied, “He will definitely come if he doesn’t plan to live the rest of his life in regret”
Rosalie listened with doubts.
Time ticked away, but Warren still hadn’t arrived even when the child was brought out by the nurse.
At that moment, the baby needed to be urgently taken to the neonatal intensive care unit. Rosalie’s eyes turned red again when she looked at the tiny infant with reddened skin, wrapped in a warming incubator.
That delicate little life was currently reliant on tubes, and its chance for survival depended ultimately on its vitality.
Nonetheless, Amelia had put her life on the line for the child.
“It’s a girl. She’s 2.98 pounds,” the nurse said, revealing the baby’s gender and weight.
However, Rosalie felt a chilling sense of shock from the weight. Even Jennifer weighed more than that when the triplets were born.
The lighter the weight, the lower the survival rate.
Matilda, as a family member, followed the nurse to complete various procedures for the baby’s critical care.
Meanwhile, Rosalie and Jonathan continued to wait outside the operating room.
Rosalie knew that the mother needed another half hour of observation after a C-section to ensure she was stable before being moved from the operating room.
However, Amelia was still not pushed out of the operating room after half an hour had passed. Rosalie was immediately puzzled. “What’s going on? Could it be that Amelia had some adverse reaction after the surgery, and the doctors are now in the process of rescuing her?” Rosalie
speculated. After all, it was likely to happen considering Amelia’s current physical condition
Hearing that, Jonathan pondered for a while and then directly made a phone call. Moments later, when he finished the call, he explained to Rosalie, saying, “Warren is here.”
“What?” Rosalie was surprised. “Warren is here? Where is he? Why haven’t I seen him?”
“He’s inside the operating room right now,” Jonathan replied.
However, it left Rosalie even more confused. Non-medical personnel were not allowed inside the operating room under normal
circumstances. Moreover, she and Jonathan had been guarding here the whole time, and they had not seen Warren enter the operating room.
Jonathan explained, “He entered the operating room through a different entrance. He’s not going to Amelia’s operating room. Instead, he’s preparing for a liver resection in the operating room next to Amelia.”
Rosalie widened her eyes in astonishment. “Is Warren planning to donate his liver to Amelia again?”
