The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike Chapter 1259

Chapter 1259

Rosalie bit her lips lightly. She lowered her head and gently stroked her abdomen with both hands. Although Jonathan didn’t say the word ” itself, she understood the meaning of his words.

If she were not pregnant, she would avoid getting pregnant and choose not to have any more children.

But right then, the accident had already transpired, and she was pregnant. As a mother, she could not possibly give her child up easily.

Taking a deep breath, she looked up at Jonathan and said, “The baby’s condition and my health are still uncertain. We need to have another prenatal examination. Let’s make a decision after the results are out, okay?”

At her cautious gaze, Jonathan ultimately concurred softly.

Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief. She lifted her hands and hugged Jonathan. “Don’t worry, Jon. It has been six years since I last gave birth to the baby. For a normal C-section, a woman can give birth again after two years. Besides, I have always taken care of myself. Things won’t be that bad.”

“Promise me that if a choice must be made between you and your child, you must choose yourself, okay? I don’t want to be in Warren’s shoes one day!” Jonathan murmured in a low voice.

Stunned, Rosalie knew that he was thinking of Amelia’s current situation. Right then, Amelia remained in the hospital on bed rest. Although Warren didn’t say anything, he visited her daily in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep.

However, Amelia didn’t know that.

She only knew because Jonathan previously told her on the phone, informed by the bodyguards he sent to the hospital to protect Amelia.

They even discussed Warren’s feelings toward Amelia at present.

“He must still love Amelia. Otherwise, considering his character, he would never visit her ward and stay there for such a long time every night.”

“Then, if something were to happen to Amelia, do you think Warren would be willing to… save Amelia?”

“Yes,” Jonathan said with absolute certainty.

Rosalie, on the other hand, wasn’t that certain. After all, Warren had been hypnotized and had forgotten his love for Amelia. Even though Warren had then developed some feelings for Amelia, she doubted that it was deep enough that he would be willing to risk his life to save her.

“Rosie, Warren can at least use his blood and liver to save Amelia when she is in danger. But if it were you, what would I have to trade?” Jonathan remarked.

Inwardly, he lamented, “Back when she was pregnant with triplets, I lived in fear each day, watching as she suffered for the children yet was powerless to do anything. Am I now to experience the same fear and powerlessness again?”

A sense of sorrow swamped Rosalie. His voice was soft, and he neither shouted nor wailed, but it made her feel like crying.

“It’s still too early now. I’m only six weeks pregnant. When we’ve gone to the hospital for a detailed examination, we will consider whether to keep the baby or give it up, okay?” Rosalie suggested. She initially thought that her unexpected pregnancy would be a joyful occasion.

But she never expected him to have so many fears.

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry…” Jonathan apologized incessantly.

“There is nothing for you to apologize for. Maybe God thinks it’s not lively enough with three children, so he wants to give us another one.” While saying that, she kissed him on the lips. “Trust me. I will treasure my life because I still need to keep you and the children company. I won’t be impulsive.”

Jonathan passively accepted her kiss of comfort, musing, “Really? Back then, she risked her own life to keep the three children. What about now? What would she sacrifice for the baby she’s carrying?”

Late at night, Warren went to Amelia’s ward again. For some inexplicable reason, it seemed that his heart could only gradually settle when he gazed at her sleeping countenance every night when everything was still, and he could then finally go to sleep.

But to his surprise, she was still awake when he stepped into her ward this time.

On instinct, he turned around to leave

“Don’t go!” Amelia shouted. If it weren’t for her bulging belly and the fact that it was inconvenient for her to get out of bed, she would have rushed over and grabbed hold of him.

Warren halted in his tracks and ultimately stayed in the ward.

“Did you come to visit me?” Amelia asked.

“What does it matter?” Warren countered, his gaze alighting on her waxen face. Recently, her complexion had grown increasingly worse. He knew that it was a sign of her liver function deteriorating.

Her condition was already dire. Even if the baby were taken out of her, her existing liver wouldn’t be able to last long.

“If so, I will be very happy. If not, I’ll feel lucky to see you,” Amelia replied.

His eyes narrowed unconsciously. “Are women all so fickle? When I appeared in front of you in the past, you told me to stop showing up in front of you and not to intrude on your peaceful life. Yet, you now feel. happy and lucky? Don’t you think it’s too ironic of you to say such a thing, Amelia?”

“It doesn’t matter if you think I’m fickle.” Amelia smiled slightly. Although the doctor didn’t say anything to her, she could still more or less feel the changes in her physical condition.

Her liver was probably gradually growing necrotic, and her body was drawing ever closer to the end of her life.

“Could you come closer so I could see you better?” she requested, for she might not be able to gaze at him in such a manner anymore in the years to come.

In fact, she didn’t even know whether she could complete the so-called contract with him. But if something really happened to her, and she died before the end of the contract, their marriage would naturally be invalid.

Then, he would be free again.

“Is it necessary? Don’t you think you’ve seen enough of me?” Warren said coldly.

“Yes,” Amelia asserted. “I really want to see you up close.”

Warren pursed his thin lips and walked over to the side of her hospital bed. Then, he sat in the chair at the side. “Well, you can look your fill now.”

She carefully scrutinized his face, her eyes traveling over his eyebrows, eyes, nose, and lips. “Who do you think our second child will resemble? The doctor hinted that the baby is a girl. I’m sure she’ll be an adorable child.”

After a brief pause, she continued “After I’m discharged from the hospital, Warren, I would like to take a family photo together, okay? Then, even if we really go our separate ways in the future, we used to be a family at least.”
