Riley murmured coldly, “A family? Hah!” The laughter at the end was more like a wordless expression or irony.
“Okay. Let’s take Riley back to the ward to rest.” Rosalie stepped forwa to steer the situation, and Amelia hurried over to help.
A group of bodyguards kept the reporters at bay. Amelia was going to accompany Riley to the ward, but when she was about to leave, Zephyr stood in front of Riley’s wheelchair.
As soon as the wheelchair stopped, Riley looked up at the man in front of her.

Riley mused that the one she hated most was, in fact, herself. She questioned her foolishness in falling in love with such a man.
“Is what you just said true?” Zephyr mumbled his question.
Riley’s chapped lips slowly opened. “Mr. Scott, don’t you think your words are ridiculous?” Her voice sounded as scratchy as sandpaper.
But her voice stung his heart like the fiercest whip.
Zephyr felt as though his heart was about to plunge off a cliff at the thought of Riley being locked up in a psychiatric hospital for years despite being healthy.
Riley’s wheelchair passed by him, and the figure sitting on it finally disappeared from his sight. Zephyr’s gaze gently dropped. The reporters swarmed around him and wanted to interview him, but they were stopped by the police and his men.
Zephyr turned around to leave. Harriet grabbed him and asked nervously, “Zephyr, where are you going?”
“Do you want to stay here again and be everyone’s laughingstock?”
Zephyr promptly left. Harriet bit her lip, slightly embarrassed, and quickly followed him.
When they got in the car, Harriet hurriedly said to Zephyr, “Zephyr, don’t believe her words. She is mentally ill. Who knows if someone taught h to say all that? Now, her so-called ‘friends’ are just trying to use her to demand more benefits from the Summer family. I’m sure they even bribed the psychiatrist.”
Zephyr just lowered his eyes as if thinking about something, completely ignoring Harriet.
“Zephyr, did you hear what I said? How about we figure out a plan? If the diagnosis confirms that Riley has recovered from her mental illness, then we…
“Then what?” Zephyr interrupted Harriet’s words and looked at her coldly, continuing, “Are you going to find more doctors to prove that she’s mentally ill? Or are you trying to prove that she is normal now because she received treatment in the hospital?”
Harriet suddenly felt cold sweat beading on her back. The man in front of her seemed to have seen through something.
“Zephyr, it’s not what you think. Didn’t you see the medical certificate that diagnosed Riley with mental illness in the past? Even then, you also said it would be better for her to stay in the hospital and receive long-term treatment,” Harriet hurriedly replied.
“Yes, I did say that at that time,” Zephyr murmured, staring at his wife expressionlessly with dark eyes. “Tell me. Was Riley really mentally ill back then?”
Harriet’s heart skipped a beat and almost jumped out of her throat. The next moment, she tried hard to answer in a calm voice, “Of course. How could it be fake?”
“Really?” His eyelashes trembled slightly. A moment later, he closed his eyes and leaned his head against the backrest of the car seat. “Get out!”
“What?” Harriet was stunned.
“I said, get out of the car now. I want some time to be alone.” The car pulled to a stop as the words left his mouth.
Harriet’s eyes widened in disbelief. She sputtered, “You… You want me to get out of the car? But there are so many reporters following us. If I get out of the car now, the paparazzi will write a bunch of baseless rumors about me again.”
“I said, get out of the car!” Zephyr slowly opened his eyes. But this time, he shot Harriet an endlessly chilling gaze.
Harriet trembled, and her blood seemed to freeze under his gaze. The she numbly opened the door and got out of the car.
The car sped away quickly, leaving her alone in the cold wind.
Harriet had no choice but to hurry up and get into the car driven by one of the Summer family members. She knew that many tabloid reporters must have captured the scene of her alighting from Zephyr’s car earlier.
Harriet knew her name would be in the headlines of all the tabloids the next day. She would become the joke of Lommore.
Harriet didn’t go back to the Scott residence but went to the Summer residence instead.
Zephyr’s gaze as he ordered her out of the car just now struck fear within her. She dared not face the man she loved deeply.
At the Summer residence, Harriet’s parents, Peter and Larissa, had already dismissed the help. Upon hearing their daughter’s account of what had happened that day, Larissa couldn’t help scolding, “That little bitch! I didn’t expect her to turn her life around and even find someone to help her!”

And that pregnant woman who claimed that she was a friend of Riley’s? The man standing beside her is probably someone powerful too,” said Harriet.
