Chapter 1224
At that moment, she couldn’t see his expression, but his tone and his current body movements seemed to indicate his keen interest in her answer.
Rosalie thought for a while and said, “Maybe.”
“I thought you would say you wouldn’t,” Jonathan murmured softly.
“I don’t want to lie to you. We made a promise to always be honest with each other,” she replied.
His arm tightened around her a little more. “It would be wonderful if I were your childhood friend. If only I could have encountered you a lo sooner…”
“Even if I had someone else as my childhood friend, I would still fall in love with you,” Rosalie said.”
“Really? You’re not just saying that to make me happy, right?” He lifted h head, his gaze intensely fixed on her.
She smiled and cupped his face with her hand. “I have made it clear that I, will not lie to you. To be honest, though, I, too, wish I had met you sooner. If I had met you as a child, I could have seen how cute you were back then.”
Jonathan’s ears were slightly flushed. Only she would use the word “cute” to describe him.
Just then, Rosalie’s phone rang.
Rosalie looked at the caller ID, and it was an unknown number. When she answered, she heard Calvin’s voice.
“Rosalie, I’ve got a lead on Riley.”
“What?” Rosalie was shocked. “While Jonathan and Wyatt are still searching for Riley’s whereabouts, Calvin has already found a clue?” she wondered.
“Riley was transferred from the hospital to another location. I have already tracked down where she was transferred,” Calvin explained.
“Where is she? Where has Riley been transferred to?” Rosalie asked anxiously.
Calvin provided an address and continued, “I’m currently about 1640 feet away from there. Be cautious not to be seen when you arrive. I’ll send you my location shortly.”
After the call, Rosalie received the location from Calvin.
“Has Riley been located?” Jonathan’s voice rang in Rosalie’s ears.
“Yeah, Calvin says he found her. He’s currently near the location where Riley is being held,” Rosalie responded.
Jonathan’s eyes flickered after hearing the words. They had just finished discussing Calvin, and he had already found the person they were looking for.
“Even though everything has fallen into place, Calvin appears to be unable to let go of his feelings for Rosalie. He found Riley before Wy and me, which means he has been following Riley’s situation for quit some time,” Jonathan pondered.
“What are your plans now? Are you going there?” he asked.
“Yeah, the situation is quite urgent, and I would like to go check it out. You can keep having fun with the kids here,” Rosalie suggested.
“I’ll go with you. If there’s really something serious, I can help you deal with it,” Jonathan said.
“But the kids…”
“It should be fine with these bodyguards here. Or I can call Wyatt and ask him to take care of the kids,” he uttered, pulling out his phone and dialing Wyatt’s number.
Rosalie was rendered speechless when she saw that.
On the phone call with Wyatt, Jonathan was straightforward, saying, “We have some leads on Riley’s whereabouts, and Rosalie and I are going to check it out. You should come over and play with the kids. It is a chance for you to bond with your son and serve as a guide for them.”
After a while, the call ended. Jonathan said to Rosalie, “Wyatt will be here soon. By the time this ship reaches the shore, he should have arrived.
The three little ones were all looking in their direction at the time. Jennifer was the first to inquire, “Daddy and Mommy, where are you going?”
“We have something very important to do. Mr. Serton will arrive shortly and continue to play with you. Jen, Guille, be good and listen to him,” Rosalie piped up.
“Are you going to look for Riley?” Guillermo suddenly asked.
Before Rosalie could respond, Guillermo added, “I want to go with you too.”
“Someone has hidden Riley, and we are going to find her. But this is a matter for adults. You are still a child. Isn’t it better to have fun and play with Jen and Felix?” Rosalie asked.
“But I think it would be more interesting to locate someone,” Guillermo said.
“Is it like playing hide and seek?” Jennifer, who was by his side, brightened, indicating her interest as well.
Rosalie was taken aback and could only explain to the children th were not going to play a game but rather to help someone in nee
When the ship reached the shore, Wyatt had already arrived. Jenni and Felix were clearly more inclined to continue playing. After all, Jennifer had made a list of things she wanted to do that day, including trying new and delicious food, and she had not tried any yet.
Guillermo, on the other hand, clearly wanted to join his parents in the search. In the end, Jonathan said, “Mr. Serton, you take Jennifer and Felix. Guillermo will stay with us. We appreciate your help.”
“Not a problem,” Wyatt said with a faint smile. After all, guiding his son and his future daughter-in-law to explore Lommore was hardly a chore.
Afterward, Guillermo followed his parents into the car and opened his mini laptop.
Jonathan customized that mini laptop specially for him. It had a screen size of around 8 inches, but it had much more functionality than a regular laptop.
It was also lightweight and compact enough to fit into his backpack.
At that moment, Rosalie sat in the back seat with Guillermo. She watched as he continuously tapped the keyboard of the mini laptop. The next moment, various partial maps of different sizes appeared on the screen.
“What are you doing?” Rosalie asked.
“Mommy, are we going to the Summer family’s mansion at Lusterg?” Guillermo asked.
When Rosalie heard that, she was surprised. “How do you know?” She had only given Jonathan the location shared by Calvin when she got in the car. Guillermo should have only known the general direction they were going, but he now seemed to know they were on their way to a mansion in Lusterg. Guillermo should not be aware of what Calvin told her over the phone.
“Simply look up anything related to the Summer family that is nearby where we are going, and the rest is easy,” Guillermo said matter-of-factly.
Rosalie was bereft of speech. “How did he make it sound like it wa simple as pie?” she wondered.
“What does the mansion look like?” Rosalie asked curiously.
