Chapter 1217
In business, it went without saying that a man naturally would not want to turn their back on a major conglomerate.
“If there are any potential business losses for the Serton family in the future, then the Youngblood family should be able to step in and fill that gap. After all, our families can engage in some business dealings. We are currently involved in a real estate project, and if you are interested, please feel free to join,” Jonathan said.
With a thoughtful look, Wyatt gazed at Jonathan for a second before he smiled. “Very well. I will get started on the hospital matter. In a few days, we will probably be able to provide you with the answer you’re looking for.”
Upon hearing that, Rosalie felt a sense of relief. As she was about to signal Jennifer to get ready to leave, she noticed Jennifer was leaning against Felix and had fallen asleep.
Children, indeed, had a knack for falling asleep at the drop of a hat.
Rosalie approached them and bent down to pick Jennifer up.
However, Jennifer’s two little hands firmly clutched Felix’s arm and hugged him tightly, making it impossible to separate them.
Rosalie was about to wake Jennifer, but Felix stopped her. “Ms. Leighto please don’t wake Jen.” His pleading eyes made it hard for Rosalie to stand the sight.
Suddenly, it felt as though her act of trying to wake Jennifer was hurtin him.
“How about letting Jen sleep over tonight? The two kids haven’t seen each other for a long time. I heard that they often slept together in the past, so it should be okay,” Wyatt suggested.
Upon hearing that, Jonathan raised his eyebrow slightly. He suddenly felt his beloved daughter was getting snatched by some fools.
“The two kids are not young anymore. It’s not appropriate for them to sleep together.”
“They are only six years old; they’re not too old,” Wyatt said.
The two fathers then looked at each other.
Just then, Jennifer, who was already asleep, suddenly muttered, “I want to be with Felix… Together…”
Rosalie felt a surge of emotion and looked at Wyatt as she said, “Well… I’ll leave Jen in your care tonight.”
Wyatt put on a smile and said, “No problem. I’m sure Felix is more than willing to spend more time with Jen.”
Jonathan did not retort but followed Rosalie’s decision. Then, he held Guillermo’s hand and said, “All right, let’s head back to the hotel now. We will pick up your sister tomorrow.”
“Okay,” Guillermo replied. Before they left, he glanced at Jennifer, who held onto Felix’s small arm and grinning in sleep.
On the way to the hotel, Guillermo asked, “Will you like the same person for a long time?”
Rosalie was puzzled to hear that. “Why do you ask that?”
“I’m wondering when Jen will stop liking Felix. That way, she won’t keep asking to come to Lommore,” Guillermo said.
Rosalie patted Guillermo’s head and said, “If you like someone sincerely, you won’t dislike them and will always love them.”
“Just like Zeki and his sister?” Guillermo remembered his brother had said more than once that he would always like her.
Rosalie smiled. “Maybe.”
“Maybe?” Guillermo was confused.
Rosalie explained patiently, “You guys are still too young to know what it’s like to like someone. Also, you don’t know how long this feeling will last, but I hope that no matter what happens, you should learn to cherish this feeling. It’s not easy to like someone. It’s even harder to keep loving the same person.”
Guillermo seemed to understand something. “So, Mommy, what about the kind of love you have for Daddy?”
Rosalie gazed at Jonathan, who stood beside her, and answered gently, “I will keep loving him intensely.”
Her gaze moved Jonathan. If Guillermo had not been there with them, Jonathan would have held this woman before him and kissed her hard to express his joy.
As Jonathan looked at Guillermo, who was in a daze, he said, “Well, you will also meet someone you will like for a long time in the future.”
“But I think I’ve already met her. I will always like Mommy,” Guillermo said.
Jonathan was rendered speechless by his son’s statement.
Rosalie hurriedly explained, “That’s a different kind of love from your love for me.”
Upon hearing that, Guillermo displayed a troubled look. He wondered why love was so complicated and decided to only think about it later on.
Back at the hotel, Rosalie put Guillermo to sleep after he finished washing up.
Technically speaking, she did not have to put him to sleep. He was already in bed, lying obediently in a perfect sleeping posture, and had fallen asleep. It was easy work.
Meanwhile, putting Jennifer to bed was more challenging. She always liked to chat with others before going to bed. In the past, when Felix was in the Youngblood residence, she would talk to Felix. Now that Felix was no longer around, her chatting partner naturally changed accordingly.
“Were you the one who put Jen to bed when I was away?” Rosalie ask Jonathan.
“Who else can it be? I can’t let Guille put Jen to bed, can I?” Jonathan
“Did she ask you for a bedtime story?” she asked.
“No, but she asked me to sing nursery rhymes for her.” At the thought o this, Jonathan felt a headache.
He had not sung nursery rhymes in ages, and now, he had to relearn these seemingly childish and silly songs for Jennifer’s sake.
Unfortunately, he only knew a few nursery rhymes, so he had to have Carlos collect some for him to learn.
Upon hearing this, Rosalie was taken aback. It seemed that Jennifer’s bedtime routine had escalated.
“So, did you sing for her?” Rosalie curiously inquired.
“I did,” he replied with a hint of helplessness. It was all because Jennifer looked so much like Rosalie. Whenever she looked at him with those sweet, chubby cheeks and called him “Daddy,” he could not help but give in to her every wish.
“Come to think of it, I’ve never heard you sing a nursery rhyme. How about singing one for me?” Rosalie said with enthusiasm.
Jonathan found himself in an awkward spot, his handsome face showing a hint of embarrassment. “Is there anything worth listening to?”
“Pretty please. I want to hear you sing,” she said gently, trying to coax him.
Jonathan could not resist her charm. It seemed like her power of persuasion was even more effective than Jennifer’s.
In her presence, he always seemed to be the one surrendering.
“Okay… If you want to hear it, I’ll sing,” he said, his deep voice softly uttering a bright and light nursery rhyme.
Rosalie rested her cheek on her hand and listened to Jonathan singing nursery rhymes, his calm voice blending with these simple songs, creating an indescribably pleasant experience.
