Chapter 1211
“Yes. I also hope I can talk to you more when there is a chance.” Rosalie smiled at Peach.
“Okay. We’ll set a time another day then. After saying that, Peach said goodbye to the two. Then, she got in the car while holding her husband’s hand.
Rosalie watched the car drive away and turned to Calvin. “Thank you. You did me another favor.”
“Rosalie, I will help you wherever 1 can,” Calvin said.
“You… Why would you?” Rosalie sighed. She only felt an indescribable sense of heaviness facing Calvin like that.
“Maybe… It’s destined.” Calvin smiled bitterly.
Rosalie stared at the man in front of her and said, “Calvin, if there really is such thing as destiny, then the person you are destined to be with must still be waiting for you.”
“Someone waiting for me?” thought Calvin.
Then, Calvin saw Rosalie enter the car and watched it slowly disappear from his sight. He could not help but feel Rosalie had been moving forward, yet he was still stuck at the same place.
Calvin felt he was still stuck in that same barren mountain when they first met in his childhood. In fact, he hadn’t walked out of the mountain for so many years, but Rosalie had already gone out and met her destined love.
Thus, Calvin was the only one who remained in the same spot alone.
“How could someone like me have someone destined for me?” thought Calvin.
Meanwhile, Rosalie had returned to the hotel, and Amelia had already fallen asleep.
Rosalie looked at Amelia, who was sound asleep, and asked Warren, “How is Amelia doing these days?”
“She’s not sleeping very well. She wakes up sometimes in the middle of the night from having nightmares,” replied Warren.
“Because of Riley?”
“She’s worried that Riley will continue to suffer,” Warren said.
“There were indeed many doubts about when Riley was admitted into the psychiatric hospital back then. What exactly happened between Riley, Nicholas, and Zephyr back then? She went to the psychiatric hospital after Nicholas died in a car accident. We need to check whether there is any relationship between them,” Rosalie said.
“But it will take too long to look into those things. We might not even find anything in the end,” said Warren. After all, the matter was so long
ago.
“That’s right. It will take too long. Amelia would deliver anytime once she’s 28 weeks pregnant, so it’s unsuitable for her to stay in Lommore for long. Why don’t you bring her back to Strico, and I’ll stay here in Lommore?” Rosalie said worriedly.
“She won’t agree. She won’t leave Lommore unless it’s the last resort.
Even if I take her back to Strico, she will do whatever it takes to return to Lommore,” replied Warren.
Rosalie was silent for a moment. At that point, she could only take things one step at a time.
Just as Rosalie was about to go back to her room, she saw Warren suddenly bend over and tidy the quilt on Amelia. He smoothed out the corners like he was worried she might catch a cold.
“Warren, have you really let go of your feelings for Amelia?” Rosa asked abruptly.
Warren’s body froze. Then, he looked up at Rosalie with a half-sn replied, “You should ask Jonathan then. After all, he was also hypn before, right?”
“Amelia does have some feelings for you. I don’t know what you’re thinking. However, no matter what, I hope you won’t hurt her. She has suffered enough in her life,” Rosalie murmured.
Warren suddenly smiled sarcastically. “Rosalie, I think you’re probably mistaken. She hurt me. She was the one who refused to give me even the tiniest chance. She wanted to part ways with me completely. Yet, you’re asking me not to hurt her now?”
“She didn’t mean to hurt you. She only wants to protect you!” Rosalie blurted out.
Still, the irony on Warren’s face intensified. “Protect me?” Do I need her protection? Why did she think she could protect me? Rosalie, aren’t you a lawyer? When did you start spouting nonsense?”
Hearing that, Rosalie shut her mouth helplessly. She knew Warren’s misunderstanding was too strong, not to mention his feelings for Amelia had faded.
However, Rosalie felt Warren still had feelings for Amelia even though he was hypnotized when Rosalie saw him tucking Amelia in earlier.
After Rosalie left, Warren turned his head and looked at the fast-asleep Amelia.
Amelia was frowning again as if she was having a bad dream.
“She’s probably dreaming about Riley again. In her heart, there’s Riley, the children, her mother, her friends… There are so many people more important than me to her. I’m only an insignificant presence to her,” Warren secretly thought.
Warren felt Amelia would only go to beg him when she needed him and kick him away without mercy when she had no use for him.
“Tell me. Who’s the one hurting the other between the two of us?” Warren
asked in a low voice.
Yet, the empty air was the only reply Warren received.
Two days later, Rosalie received a call from Peach saying that she had some legal questions to ask the former.
Although Rosalie gave her business card to Peach when they talked at the banquet that day, she didn’t expect the latter would really contact her, not to mention so soon.
When Rosalie arrived at the private room of the restaurant Peach had booked, she found that Calvin was also in there beside Peach and her assistant.
“Ms. Leighton is a friend of Mr. Gunner, so I trust her. After all, I don’t want to let the world know about my comeback yet for now. That’s why I have some contract terms and legal matters I would like to consult Ms. Leighton,” Peach said with a smile to Rosalie,
Rosalie naturally understood that the Peach was being kind. Or perhaps the latter was trying to make friends with her because of her relationship with Calvin.
Otherwise, why would Peach come for a lawyer she was unfamiliar with when the Griffin family had their own team of lawyers?
Still, Rosalie smiled back and replied, “Of course. I’ll be happy to help.”
Over the meal, Rosalie discovered that Peach was planning on a comeback and also wanted to participate in the newly established film company by the Gunner family. Calvin had also gone to Lommore then to prepare for the new company.
Peach said she invited Rosalie to a meal to consult some legal matters, but the former never mentioned any legal issues during the meal.
“By the way, I have a film subject at hand. I want to make it into a film. Although it’s just a movie and any resemblance to actual events is purely a coincidence, I think it’s still better to give the Griffin family a heads up,” Calvin suddenly said.
