Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled Chapter 344

Chapter 344

Chapter 344

That was the start of the cold war between Neil and me. From that day forward, we didn’t have any contact for two bloody months.

During the peak of summer, the air was filled with heatwaves, but that was nothing compared to Neil’s passion for Bonnie. I constantly saw pictures of them getting all cuddly on the internet. Like that time when Neil bought an island for Bonnie and named it after her. Or when Bonnie would often deliver homemade lunches to Neil at the Whitmore Co. Building. Their interactions were increasingly couple- like, all mushy and lovey-dovey.

My feelings, on the other hand, went from jealous rage to a sort of numbness.

My friends, especially Stella, were utterly bamboozled.

“Are you two filming a drama series or something?” Stella asked, puzzled. “When we were against you, you insisted on chasing Neil. When we stopped opposing, you had a fall out and divorced from him. It looked like you wanted to get back together; we opposed it again, and now… you’ve broken up with him again?”

Alicia and Barbara were also wearing bewildered expressions.

I didn’t know what to say, so I just chuckled awkwardly.

“Are you done with Neil this time?” Stella asked bluntly.

“I don’t know.” My answer made them all drop their jaws. They couldn’t believe I might still have a thing with Neil.

But that was what I truly felt, and I didn’t want to hide it from them. It’d only complicate things and make me seem dishonest.

Just as Stella was about to dig deeper, her phone rang.

“Are you free? Okay, I’ll be right there!” After hanging up, Stella was all excited. She grabbed her bag and was ready to leave, “Guys, the amazing obstetrician and gynecologist I told you about before is back in town. She can see me today. I have to go!”

Hearing that, I stood up subconsciously and said, “I’ll go with you.”

Stella was taken aback, “You’re coming with me?”

“Yeah, I have nothing better to do anyway.” I replied casually.

“Alright then, let’s get going.” Stella was in a hurry. Without even saying goodbye to Alicia and Barbara, she dragged me out of the house. The doctor who just returned from abroad was named Snow. She was said to be young and had been working in a foreign hospital.

Stella couldn’t stop singing her praises, making me look forward to meeting her.

Snow seemed to be a mysterious figure, reputed for her superb medical skills and her knack for diagnosing and treating illnesses, especially in obstetrics and gynecology.

That day, she arranged to meet Stella at a guesthouse hotel.

I was a bit puzzled. I thought, “Don’t we need medical instruments for a consultation? Is she a miracle worker or a quack?”

When I expressed my doubts to Stella, she immediately cited various examples to prove Snow’s medical prowess.

When we arrived at the guesthouse, Stella and I were standing in front of a room when Bonnie came out before we could knock.

“I booked the only appointment with Dr. Snow today. You’ll have to come another time,” Bonnie said coldly.

“Bullshit! She just called me half an hour ago and asked me to come over!” Stella shot back angrily.

Bonnie didn’t seem to care, “So what? She changed her mind and decided to see me today. You know about my health condition. If I don’t get proper treatment and rest, it will affect my future pregnancy plans.”

The words ‘pregnancy plans’ hit me like a ton of bricks.

Was she planning to have a baby with Neil? That was the first thing that came to my mind.

“You, with your weak health, want to have a baby? Dream on!” Stella spat out, “Don’t cause any harm or even death when the time comes!”

Bonnie was fuming at Stella’s words.

Just as they were arguing, the door cracked open. A muffled female voice came from inside, “Which one is Bonnie? Come in.”

“Dr. Snow, it’s me!” Bonnie immediately perked up.

As she was about to enter, I couldn’t help but question, “Dr. Snow, didn’t you call my friend Stella half an hour ago? You asked her to come, didn’t you?”

The door was halfway open, revealing a woman dressed in a white dress standing behind. Only her silhouette was visible. She peeked out with a mask on her face, bangs covering her eyes.

Her gaze shifted around and finally landed on me. For a moment, there was a change in her eyes, but she quickly regained her

composure.

“I dialed the wrong number. I’m sorry. Maybe next time.” Snow’s voice was clear and pleasant. She nodded at Stella and me, then pulled

Bonnie in and closed the door.

Stella and I exchanged a glance. I could see the anger in her eyes.

But there was nothing we could do. We left helplessly.

Before leaving, I couldn’t help but take one last look at the door. For some reason, I felt uneasy about the way Snow looked at me.

Did she recognize me?

With a head full of questions, Stella and I left the guesthouse and went our separate ways.

Those days, my mom had also noticed the news about Neil and Bonnie. She would occasionally remind me. What baffled me the most was that she still believed Russel was a better match for me, even after told her that he was a schemer.

And today, I saw Russel at my house again.

He was sitting in the living room, having coffee with my mom, and discussing heart health. Seeing me come in, he put down his cup and gave me a slight smile.

My mom, on the other hand, waved at me, “Rena, come join us. Have some coffee and chat with Dr. Russel.”

I frowned, feeling uncomfortable, “I don’t want any coffee. I need to rest.”

I was about to head upstairs when my mom stopped me sternly, “Rena, Dr. Russel is our guest. You need to be polite. Do you understand? Come here now!”

Ever since my mom went through a serious illness, she had changed a lot in her thinking, gotten more stubborn, and started to push me

around a bit.

Russel responded calmly, “Maybe she’s just tired and doesn’t want coffee. Taking a break wouldn’t hurt.”

His words sounded like he was making excuses for me in my mom’s ears.

My mom urged me again, “Come over here. You used to be friends with Dr. Russel. Why are you being so cold?”

That time, Russel didn’t speak up for me. He just quietly looked at me, as if waiting for me to cave in,
