Chapter 194
Chapter 194
1 need to have a chat with you’ Neil put his glasses on the table and solemnly pulled me up.
Neil led me out in a daze as the scorching wind blew against my face. I was ready to head back inside, the heat was just too unbearable
Neil stopped me, sounding pissed, “Did you spread the rumor about Bonnie and me getting back together just because you didn’t want me to bother you?”
What else? I don’t want to be a tabloid journalist
“So, can you promise me that you won’t bother me anymore? Pretend you don’t know me when you see me, so I don’t have to do this to distract you” I touched my somewhat hot face still keeping my senses.
“Did you do this to get back at me for what I did last time?” Neil’s eyes darkened as he asked coldly
I admitted frankly, “Yes, if it weren’t for the fact that I don’t want my parents to know, I would have called the police and ruined your reputation long ago Neil, you’re really shameless. Have you been swinging between two people in the past two years?”
“I didn’t!” Neil was so angry that he held his forehead, “You didn’t even reply to my messages or answer my calls, did you give me a chance to explain?”
“I don’t need your explanation. Right now, I can’t believe how stupid I’ve been to have anything to do with you” I interrupted Neil
“So, who should you be involved with? Russel? Neils tone suddenly cooled down, Too bad, he’s currently on a blind date.”
I found it amusing. Did he think that I wanted to leave him for Russel?
“Yes, you’re right. It is for Russel. I regret it! Why did I like you back then? Why didn’t I meet him first? After seeing him quarrel with his family for me, I hate my second marriage status. If I hadnt married you if I hadn’t lost a child, I could be open with him now. We’re a perfect match, and we like each other; what’s wrong with that? I started laughing as I talked
My heart became incredibly satisfied when I saw Neils increasingly ugly face.
Since he always thought I had something going on with Russel, I didn’t reed to explain anymore.
I thought Neil would be furious; everything I just said was meant to provoke him.
“Trene, shut up Neil didn’t lose his temper, but his face looked terrifying
“Okay, I’ll shut up. As long as you dont bother me in the future, I can stay quiet!” I replied coldly
Neil took a deep breath, seeming to calm himself down, and we both fell into a silent standoff
Until a woman appeared who recognized me, ‘Oh, it’s you?”
I glanced at the woman and realized that it was the same short-haired woman who had spoken up for me in the shop a few days ago.
Today she was dressed very brightly and wearing a pair of exaggerated earrings, but she didn’t give off a vulgar vibe, instead, she seemed very sexy and lively
“We meet again” I remmed in my emotions and greeted the short-haired woman with a smile.
Neil stood next to me, looking very indifferent, staring at the woman with a blank expression.
“Wow! What a coincidence; are you here for a drink too?” The short-haired woman was very cheerful, and her voice was sweet as she asked, “Is he your boyfriend?”
She pointed to Neil.
I immediately denied it. “We re not close, just friends.”
A trace of surprise flashed in the short-haired woman’s eyes, “Really? Then you wouldn’t mind if I pursue him, right? He looks handsome.”
She openly expressed her interest in Neil.
“Cool, go for it!” I made an encouraging gesture, completely disregarding her words.
Neil, however, frowned. When the woman came up and asked for his contact information, he glared at me, then got into a Porsche parked on the side of the road and disappeared from my sight.
The short-haired woman held her phone, looking at a loss, “Your friend sure has a temper!”
“He’s not just hot-tempered; he’s also arrogant I suggest you find someone else to flirt with. He’s not worth it! Alter Neil left, I immediately took out my phone. “But if you like a challenge, I can give you his number.”
The short haired woman looked at me in surprise, then broke into a smile, Really? He doesn’t seem like a friend you’re not close with, did you guys just have a fight?
I couldn’t help but laugh, “We’re both in our thirties, and we’re not high school sweethearts. Don’t worry, I’m really not close with him.”
The short haired woman looked in the direction Neil left. Her smile was fading a bit, and her eyes were full of curiosity. “He’s not just handsome, he’s also rich. Why didn’t you pursue him?”
I gave her a bitter smile as thought about how I pursued him for ten years without success and how, after the divorce, I messed up even more.
I felt like I got along well with this short-haired woman, so I advised her, “Honestly, rich and handsome guys are usually womanizers. If you want to chase him, you have to be prepared to compete with a bunch of other women, it’s really not worth it.”
The short haired woman burst into laughter and took out her phone, “Anyway, give me your contact information. If I want to chase that hunk in the future, ITI definitely need your help”
sighed my heart. Another woman was now enchanted by Neil’s appearance. I, too, once naively pursued Neil, wanting to become his woman.
I just didn’t expect that his heart already belonged to someone else and that he even had a relationship stand-in,
If this short haired woman could attract Neil, it meant that she really was a stunning woman.
I agreed to the short-haired womans request. Her nickname on WhatsApp was The Cat At The Bar’ Very interesting.
“You can call me Kitty. She shook her phone happily
“Okay, I’m Irene I introduced myself generously
Kitty thought for a moment. “I think I’ve heard your name somewhere. What’s that hunk’s name?”
“Neil, you can lock up his information online” I answered.
Kitty touched her short hair, and her eyes widened in surprise, I think I know who he is. Isn’t he the CEO of Whitmore Co. who was in the entertainment news a few days ago?”
Anything more I say would be redundant because Neil’s scandals were always hot topics in the entertainment news.
Kitty looked young: she probably followed entertainment news often and knew all the gossip.
Then she seemed to remember something, and she widened her eyes at me, “Irene, isn’t that the name of his ex-wife? Oh my God, did I just happen to come across a big company boss arguing with his ex-v
-wife in public?”
I busted out laughing at her description of me I didn’t know why, but somehow, coming from Kitty, it was pretty funny and not off-putting at all. Just then, my phone buzzed. It was a text from Neil. “If you dare give that rebel kid my number, you’re on your own
Rebel kid?
I glanced at Kitty’s red hair, her dramatic earrings, and her nose piercing. This wasnt rebellion! This was called having her own character!
