When Stella and Mitch arrived, my parents had just gotten there too.

“Won’t they be embarrassed if they do?” Stella was angry, “They deliberately hit your car, trying to kill you, they even confessed who was behind it. The guy pulling the strings was Finn, that so–called Finn!*
My heart sunk, I couldn’t figure out why Finn was targeting me.
Just as I was deep in thought, Stella suddenly handed me the sliced apple and stood up, a teasing smile on her face, “Russel’s here, I gotta go!”
With that, she grabbed her bag and left.
I silently held the apple, looking at Russel standing at the door.
“Where are you hurt?” Russel’s brows furrowed as he quickly approached my bedside, inspecting my condition.
I shook my head, “I’m fine, just need a few days rest, how did you know I was in the hospital?”
I wasn’t sure if Neil did it on purpose, but the hospital where Russel worked was closer to where my accident happened. Yet, he took me to this farther

“Mitch told me, Russel’s face was stern, “Finn deliberately had your car hit, do you know him?”
I didn’t, so I told Russel about Oscar getting beaten up and the incident at Zion Chemical Plant.
I suspected Finn found out about these two incidents and wanted to retaliate against me.
But I didn’t know how he found out
Russel’s already stern face darkened even more after hearing this.
He got up to leave and I quickly grabbed his hand, “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to find Finn!” The fury that erupted from Russel gave me a start, he’s usually very calm.
I hurriedly stopped bum, “Don’t go, I’ve already reported to the police, they’ll take care of it. The guys who hit me have already been taught a lesson by Neil, that’s enough, don’t do anything unnecessary”
When I mentioned Neil’s name, there was a subtle change in Russel’s eyes, a hint of chill.
But he didn’t ask any further, only tightened his lips, covered me with the blanket, then left.

In the evening, Oscar hurried over with some fruits to see me.

As we were talking, the sound of high heels approached from outside. I looked up to see Bonnie standing in the doorway.
She looked like a walking luxury item now, expensive but not fitting for her.
She was nowhere near as stunning as the first time I saw her in the coffee shop.
Bonnie wasn’t expecting to see Oscar here, her face showed surprise then quickly turned cold.
Oscar averted his eyes, his face a mix of emotions.
“Trene, I heard you had a car accident, so I came to see you” Bonnie placed a box of supplements at the corner of my bed, playing with her curly hair, “Where’s Neil? Why hasn’t he come to see you?”
She looked around, disappointment in her eyes.
“What are you doing here? Oscar suddenly spoke, his voice filled with resentment.
“Oscar, you’re still with her, aren’t you, Bonnie’s smile was sarcastic, “What’s the difference between you and me? We all want a better life, what right did you have to expose my chat logs with Neil two years ago?”
Oscar wasn’t what Bonnie described, he angrily grabbed the box of supplements and threw it on the floor, I’m not you, I’ll never betray my feelings for money, you can leave!”
I just watched silently, this once loving couple, now unrecognizable.
Bonnie chuckled coldly, “Hmph, you’re so noble. Oscar, during the time we’ve been together, I’ve been with you to eat discounted meals, buy clearance clothes, and ride the bus. Isn’t that enough? Do you know how much it costs to get a new heart? I’m afraid I’ll die when I’m with you!”
Oscar turned red at her words. He must still hold some sweet memories in his heart, but to Bonnie, these memories seem dirt cheap.
“So what if you’re a good student, Oscar? Do you really think you can make a difference?” Bonnie looked at Oscar with a sympathetic gaze.
Bonnie spoke passionately. It was clear that she was deliberately provoking Oscar, belittling all he had.
She didn’t notice that Neil had arrived and was standing right behind her, hearing every word.
