Chapter 135
Chapter 135
I felt something stuck in my throat as if something was surging up from my stomach. I tried hard to suppress the discomfort.
Seeing me motionless, Neil called out to me again, “Come on, let’s eat. Aren’t you hungry?”
Without replying. I quickly dashed toward the bathroom.
I tried to muffle my sounds, using the noise of flushing to cover up the sound of vomiting. It made me feel miserable.
When I came out of the bathroom, Neil was waiting for me at the door.
“Are you nuts? You even follow me to the bathroom?” I got a bit scared and pretended to yell at him.
Neil’s face instantly darkened, and he replied coldly. “Go eat. I’m leaving now”
I wanted him to leave as soon as possible, so I kept silent. As soon as he was out of sight, I tossed away the salmon he had cooked.
The rest of the dishes were to my liking, and I gobbled them all up.
After cleaning up the table, I went downstairs to throw away the trash.
“Oh, these cute love cookies. He’ll be so touched, right?” Suddenly, a voice came over. I turned and saw Bonnie and Malinda, hand in hand, walking towards me.
Bonnie was holding a lovely box that appeared to have pastries inside.
Malinda was complimenting Bonnie, but their voices suddenly halted upon seeing me.
Bonnie looked genuinely surprised. She probably didn’t expect to see me here since Neil was also living here.
With a straight face, I glanced at them and walked into the elevator.
Bonnie hesitated for a moment, then also stepped in.
Malinda rolled her eyes at me while Bonnie made a complicated face the whole time. I guessed Neil might be in for some drama.
“What rotten luck, she lives here too?” Malinda couldn’t help but rant.
Bonnie looked at me with a thoughtful expression.
When the elevator arrived, Bonnie’s face changed, looking stunned as I walked into my apartment.
“Oh my God, why does she live opposite Louis?” Malinda exclaimed in frustration.
Once I closed the door, I couldn’t hear her anymore.
Whether Bonnie and Neil were going to fight, I didn’t care. But I didn’t expect that Bonnie would text me after a while, “Irene, can we chat?”
I didn’t respond and blocked her straight away
Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang. I peeked through the peephole, and it was Bonnie. I couldn’t understand why she would dare to come to me.
Where was Neil? Did he leave after delivering the food?
I opened the door. Outside, Bonnie looked at me with a complex expression, “Irene, do you hate me that much now?”
“Come in, close the door.” I returned to the living room and sat down, instructing coldly.
Bonnie closed the door silently and sat opposite me.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, Bonnie couldn’t help but ask, “Irene, can you keep your distance from Neil?”
I quirked an eyebrow, “Why?”
You’re divorced, arent you? I’m the one by Neil’s side now, but I feel like he still has feelings for you. It’s unfair to me.” Bonnie bit her lip after speaking. looking innocent.
I looked at her coldly and replied, “How is it unfair? You were the third party, and I didn’t say anything to you, but now that you’re about to be his partner, you remind me Don’t you think that’s unreasonable?”
Bonnie’s face changed, rene, I’m not the third party. I was with Neil only after you guys divorced
“Neil said you two were never together.” I countered Bonnie directly, “And stop playing innocent in front of me. I already know you were the first to contact Neil Bonnie, you were sitting with me in the car on our way to have dinner with Oscar, but you were secretly texting a married man behind me. Have you no shame?”
Bonnie was stunned by my words, disbelie! filled her eyes. She quickly asked anxiously, “Did Oscar tell you?!”
I was a bit shocked. So, Oscar knew about this?
I vaguely replied, “What do you think?”
“He’s so despicable! Bonnie seemed furious, “He promised me he wouldn’t tell anyone!*
Then I remembered Oscar had seen the messages between Bonnie and Neil. He must have found out then
Oscar was really kind to Bonnie, and he never exposed her. Otherwise, her reputation would be worse.
I wouldn’t expose Mitch, but I also didn’t want Oscar to be misunderstood, so I said, “It’s not him. No one told me about it. I found out by myself.”
You checked Neil’s phone?” Bonnie questioned immediately
“You don’t need to care how I found out. Just remember, I know almost everything you’ve done, so don’t come to me and pretend. You should be grateful
that I’m willing to divorce Neil. Stay away from me, or you’ll be asking for trouble.” I smirked, “I still have s leave you if he finds out.”
Bonnie was obviously intimidated. She definitely didn’t want to lose Neil.
She probably didn’t expect that I would know so much. After staying silent for a while, she got up to leave.
“When did you know about Neil? When did you know who I was?” I asked.
Bonnie stopped, looked at me, smiled, and answered, “Trene, although I contacted Neil first, it’s because I knew he asked someone else for my contact info. So, I wanted to ask him why Before that, I had never met him and didn’t know who you were. I gotta go. I have stuff to do.”
With that, she hurried off. But I didn’t believe her. I could find out myself. Then, I unblocked Oscar. I wanted to ask him what he knew.
Before asking him, I checked his Facebook. It hadn’t been updated for a long time. The latest post was from when Oscar and I climbed the Obsidian Spire. It was photos we took then
There was a photo of me holding a kitten, but you couldn’t see my
face.
I felt guilty as sin like Id wronged him, with a feeling of reluctance to bother him anymore. I’d put him on my block list when I was bored, then unblocked him when I needed him
Maybe I should find other ways to deal with this. I let out a sigh, preparing to put Oscar on my block list again.
Oscar texted me, “Irene, have you finally unblocked me?!”
I didn’t know what to reply.
Oscar continued, “Why did you suddenly block me? Did I do something wrong?”
I replied, “No, Oscar, you didn’t do anything wrong. I accidentally blocked you, sorry”
Oscar texted back, “Can you take a video call now? I want to see you. Dr. Russel said you’re abroad. You’re overseas now, right?”
I pinged Oscar for a video call, and he picked up in no time.
