George replied to Han Muzi’s message two days later. He was complaining in his WeChat messages. He did not intentionally disappear from WeChat, but it was because his phone was taken away by his old man at home. His life was miserable and unbearable during this time.
After Han Muzi heard him complain, she got to know that George had accompanied his grandfather back to China to celebrate New Year’s. He had needed to accompany his grandfather to meet his relatives every day. It was more like he was going on matchmaking dates rather than actually meeting relatives.
Han Muzi teased him when she heard this. “Isn’t this a good thing? He’s concerned with your marriage.”
George was howling like a wolf as he replied in a WeChat voice message, “Muzi, you’re making fun of me now. Imagine if Yuchi Shen’s the one who’s going through the same fate. Will you still say it’s a good thing?”
Han Muzi was not angry after hearing it and raised her brows lightly. “The two of you aren’t the same. The Yuchi Shen you speak of has a girlfriend, but you… are still single.”
George immediately cried after hearing this, “Muzi, why would you say such heartbreaking words? I’ve been so pitiful lately and you’re still treating me like this.”
Han Muzi was amused by him. However, George quickly recovered to his usual self. “Oh my, I almost forgot about the main point. You’re going back to China? When?”
Han Muzi glanced at the time when he responded to the message. “Well, three days later.”
“Oh, sh*t!”
Han Muzi heard George on the other end jump before he yelled in pain as if he had kicked something. He took a deep breath and said to her pitifully, “Please don’t, Muzi. It’s not easy for the three of us to get along so well. What will I do if both you and Yuchi Shen go back to China? I’ll be lonely and cold if I’m left alone.”
Han Muzi was speechless.
“Nonsense aside, let me know where you are now. I’ll go and meet you.”
Han Muzi kept quiet. She told George the address after hesitating for a while. He did not have his phone all this while because he was restricted, so he probably only got it back now. Sure enough, not long after Han Muzi gave George the address, he arrived.
When she heard the doorbell ringing, she watched the time for a while and wondered how this fellow could be so fast. Did he fly here?
Han Muzi took a look through her cat-like eyes and opened the door when she saw George was standing outside. When he saw her, he immediately gave a pitiful look and approached her with his arms wide open. “Muzi, I missed you so much!”
She stood on the spot in a daze as she never expected him to do that. However, before she could evade, George stopped and stood there with his arms in the air. After a moment, he passed her and hugged the cabinet beside her.
Han Muzi was speechless. Is he a goofball?
George was hugging the cabinet with a desperate look. He must have had a short-circuit in his brain as he almost went to hug Han Muzi. Even though he treated Han Muzi as a relative in his heart, Yuchi Shen might not think the same. By then, Yuchi Shen would only feel that he was taking advantage of Han Muzi, and George did not plan on dying young.
Han Muzi closed the door while she heard him ask in a whisper, “Yuchi Shen isn’t around?”
“We’re heading back in three days, so he’s been busy at the company.” They could only go back to China with a peace of mind once all the aftermath was dealt with and everything here was settled.
Speaking of heading home, George’s mood became sullen. “Are you really going back to China? Isn’t it good to just stay here? Muzi, since you’re already with him now, why do you still want to go back?”
Han Muzi took a look at George. He probably did not know that a lot had happened recently and probably thought that she and Ye Moxuan had a peaceful year.
For a moment, she did not know how to explain to George as the story seemed to be too long, so in the end, Mu Zi could only say, “This isn’t our place after all. We didn’t live here before, so I want to go back with him. Of course, the main reason is that our homeland is there. I also want to go back to the places we’ve been before to see if it helps him recover his memory.”
George could finally understand after hearing this.
They decided to go back because they hoped it would help Yuchi Shen recover his memory. He nodded his head. “It’s true. If so, then I have no excuse to make you stay. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be preventing Yuchi Shen from recovering his memory?”

Han Muzi took a step forward and walked in with him. “How have you been lately? How’s the matchmaking going? Has anyone caught your eye?
George suddenly gave a bitter look after she mentioned this. “Muzi, don’t tease me anymore. I thought I told you I’m in a bad situation and it’s worse than death itself? Others celebrate their new year full of joy, whereas I… was just depressed.”
Han Muzi took a glass of water for him from the kitchen. George could not help but give compliments after looking at the decorations around the house. “This house is a good choice. Yuchi Shen sure does treat you well.” After seeing Han Muzi hand him a glass of water, he looked sad once more. “Muzi, this isn’t right. I’ve come such a long way. Can’t I have a beverage or some red wine? Do I just get a glass of water?”
“You’ll stay for lunch in the afternoon. Is it wrong to serve you a glass of water now?”
“Say what?” George’s eyes lit up when he heard that he could stay for a meal. During this period, he had been eating food prepared by the chef back at home but he still missed Muzi’s cooking, so when she said that he could stay for lunch, he suddenly felt as if he was worry-free. “No, there’s nothing wrong! Nothing wrong at all!”
“That’s good, then. If you dared say it was wrong, don’t even think about eating here today.”
“Muzi, do we need to go to the supermarket to buy ingredients?”
Buy ingredients? Han Muzi shook her head. “No need. Someone has already gone to do so.”
It was as if Yan had suddenly turned into a whole new person. She would get up early in the morning to go to the supermarket to buy ingredients and prepare a feast every day. As many things needed to be bought, Xiao Su followed along.
“Someone? Who?” George scratched his head. If he remembered correctly, Muzi just said that Yuchi Shen was handling things in the company, so it did not make sense that he had gone out to do the grocery shopping.
“They’re my friends who you’ve never met before. I’ll introduce you to them when they come back later.”
