Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 989

As the living room turned silent, Han Qing commented blandly, “No need. You are all not coming. I’ll just trouble Assistant Xiao to drive me there.”

At this point, Han Muzi subconsciously turned to look at Yan. What Han Qing meant right now was that he did not want Yan to go with them. Yan’s face turned pale and she stood there helplessly. She looked at Han Qing sorrowfully, almost tearing up. As much as she wanted to go with them, Han Qing’s words seemed to be aimed directly at her. Her chances of being able to tag along were slim.

Seeing Yan in this way, Han Muzi, as a woman, could no longer take it. But, Han Qing did not even look at Yan before he picked up his suitcase. “Let’s go.” He began walking away without looking back—as if there was nothing here for him to miss.

Before Xiao Su followed suit, he unconsciously threw a glance at Yan. Then, he let out a quiet sigh and followed along. It’s probably better this way so that Yan can give up on him quicker.

Bang! After they closed the door, Yan finally came back to her senses. Then, her eyes turned teary. Just as she was about to chase after them, Han Muzi came up and stopped her. “Forget it. Don’t go.”

Tears began rolling down Yan’s cheeks. “Muzi, why?” Why? Why isn’t he willing to let me send him off? Is there no possibility between him and me?

Looking at how sad Yan was, Han Muzi did not know how to console her. If Han Muzi could, she would want to help Yan bear some of her sorrow and sadness, but emotions did not work like that. Furthermore, she could not go up to Han Qing and tell him off for not liking Yan; when it came to love, things could not be forced.

When Han Muzi was considering how to console Yan, Yan pushed her away and ran back to her room. Just as Han Muzi was about to go after her, Ye Moxuan grabbed her by her arm. “Don’t go.”

“But…”

“Being alone is the best thing for her right now. Maybe after tonight, she’ll be able to think things through.”

Han Muzi looked at Ye Moxuan subconsciously. “How did you know…”

Ye Moxuan flashed a smile across his face, and once again patted her head gently. “The message Qing’s trying to deliver is clear. If she’s still oblivious to it, she’s just putting herself through unnecessary suffering.” As he finished, he patted her head again. Han Muzi felt strange and looked up at him. She recalled that this same spot on her head was also the spot that her brother was touching earlier.

“What are you doing?” Han Muzi wanted to remove his hand from her. She was not a little child anymore, and for him to pat her head like this felt like an adult patting a child’s head.

“Affixing a seal.”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words. It was exactly as she thought. She became somewhat upset and grabbed his hand. “Are you jealous of my brother as well? Why are you being so unreasonable?”

Ye Moxuan smiled, his eyes full of affection. In the next second, his countenance completely changed; he looked like he was having a cramp.

“What’s going on?” Han Muzi’s heart skipped a bit when she noticed that his expression worsened. Ye Moxuan grabbed Han Muzi by her hand and forced himself to maintain the look on his face with his lips pursed. “Nothing…”

Before he could finish, his headache intensified—it felt like thousands of needles were poking his head. He felt that certain scenes were going through his head, but he was in so much pain that he could not even stand still.

Han Muzi had never seen him like this before. She was shocked and her face turned pale instantly. “What’s going on? You’re scaring me. I-I’m calling an ambulance!” She recalled the last time when Ye Moxuan fainted all of sudden. With all the pressure that Ye Moxuan had been dealing with recently, what should she do if right now he was about to have a mental breakdown?

Ye Moxuan was in such immense pain that he could not utter a word. His hands were still holding Han Muzi’s hand, perhaps hoping that it would deliver him from the pain. Han Muzi did not dare to leave his side as he held on to her hand; she could only reach for her phone in her pocket and try to call an ambulance.

“Ah…” The pain was perhaps too unbearable for Ye Moxuan. He let out a groan and fell sideways.

Han Muzi was terrified. She quickly caught him before doing anything else.

Thud! Her phone fell to the ground with a loud thud. It might be broken but right now, Han Muzi was not bothered. She moved Ye Moxuan to sit down on the couch and began to break down as she saw his pale face. “Did you recall something? If it’s too much, don’t do it, okay? I don’t want you to regain your memory; I just want you to be safe.” If he had to develop a mental disability just to regain his memory, Han Muzi felt it would be better for him to never get those memories back.

Ye Moxuan’s head was still in immense pain—like he had just fallen through ice. All of a sudden, he felt a pair of warm hands holding him tightly; even though those hands were small, the warmth that they were transmitting was overbearing and incessant. T-This is…

“I’ve lost you once; I’m not going to lose you again.”

Pitter-patter. Some sort of warm liquid was dripping on Ye Moxuan’s forehead, and that gradually brought back his consciousness. When he lifted his eyes, a teardrop dripped on one of his eyes; this unfamiliar sensation caused him to shut his eyes subconsciously.

A few moments later, he began holding Han Muzi’s lean and fair wrist tightly. “Don’t cry anymore.”

Han Muzi was shocked and pushed him away. “Are you okay now?”

Right now, Ye Moxuan’s countenance and thin lips looked unusually pale. On his forehead were layers and rows of cold sweat, proving how much pain he was in earlier. Nevertheless, he was still letting out a comforting smile to the woman he loved. He whispered, “I’m perfectly fine now, aren’t I? What could possibly happen?”

Han Muzi stared at him stolidly for a little while before jumping on him and tightly hugging him by his neck. “I was so scared. Did you…”

“It was just a headache; I’m fine now.” Ye Moxuan put out his hand and gently patted her shoulders. He was the one who had an episode, but he was still calm; Han Muzi, on the other hand, seemed to have the shock of her life.

Just like that, the two hugged each other for a while. All of a sudden, Han Muzi jumped. She proceeded to push Ye Moxuan away and reached for her phone. “No. I can’t be at ease with you like that. I need to call an ambulance.”

Ye Moxuan did not know how to respond. He helplessly let out a bitter smile. “I’m fine now. Why are you calling the ambulance? To interrupt this moment?”

Han Muzi responded, “But earlier you—”

“I was just trying to recall something, thus, the headache. But it’s over now.” In between his words, Ye Moxuan’s hands were pressing her palm. He added, in exhaustion, “Don’t call the ambulance. I’ll just get some rest in the bedroom.”

After the spasms of pain he had just experienced in his head, he felt exhausted. This might be a reaction his body was having to the recent medical treatment that he had been receiving. Right now, Ye Moxuan felt that he would fall into total darkness the moment he closed his eyes.
