Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 940

Han Muzi was confused by Yan’s expression. Just when she was about to ask Yan what was going on, she saw Yan turning around to make her way to the entrance of the house. In fact, Yan seemed to be moving in an awkward manner.

What is happening? Han Muzi was confused because Yan wouldn’t have acted in this way if it was just a call from Han Qing. Besides, Yan never explained to her what had happened. Maybe it isn’t Han Qing on the phone.

Han Muzi was worried at the thought of that possibility and she stood up abruptly to follow Yan. Soon, she arrived at the entrance with Yan. Then, she saw Yan approach the door. However, just when Yan reached out toward the door handle, she withdrew her hand in horror as if she was electrocuted or that the plague was knocking on the door. After that, Yan took a step back before hiding behind Han Muzi and swallowed audibly.

She looks… Han Muzi was curious, so she shot a suspicious glance toward the door. Then, she patted Yan’s hand reassuringly while whispering at her, “I’ll do it. Don’t worry.”

Then, Han Muzi stepped forward to peek through the peephole to check who was at the door. The peephole was installed for security purposes, and usually, she wouldn’t pay much attention to it. However, Yan’s intense reaction worried her, so she decided to check who was at the door and became astounded the moment she peered through the peephole. After that, she took a step back to open the door swiftly.

A tall and sturdy figure framed the entrance and his cold and aloof face looked handsome under the corridor lights. Han Qing’s gaze softened when he met Han Muzi’s eyes. However, when he saw Yan, who stood behind Han Muzi, his gaze instantly turned ice-cold.

Yan flinched involuntarily, and at that moment, she wished the ground swallowed her so that she could hide forever without ever resurfacing again. After all, Han Qing’s gaze was now cold and sharp like a blade and she just couldn’t look at him in the eye.

Han Muzi sensed Han Qing’s severe gaze as well. Nevertheless, she hadn’t expected him to show up without warning, so she smiled and casually took a step to block Han Qing’s view of Yan. “Qing, why didn’t you tell me you were coming over?”

As Han Qing gazed at Han Muzi, the coldness seeped away gradually from his eyes. It was obvious that he came here with suppressed emotions. He did not want Han Muzi to witness the feelings he hid from her, but he went through an emotional rollercoaster, which somehow exposed his suppressed emotions. “There just wasn’t enough time,” he answered calmly while walking into the apartment.

When Han Qing walked past Han Muzi, she noticed that he was quite exhausted by his journey. She frowned slightly as she closed the door behind him. Han Qing came over alone this time and Su Jiu hadn’t tagged along. But that makes sense because it’s not a working day after all. It’s the first day of Chinese New Year in China and yesterday was Chinese New Year’s Eve. Su Jiu has her own family, so she must be on vacation to return home to reunite with her family. It wouldn’t make sense for her to accompany Han Qing to travel abroad. Besides, even if Su Jiu was willing to work overtime, Han Qing wouldn’t have allowed it.

Yan felt her heart pacing when he walked past her. Previously, I had everything planned out before I left China. Furthermore, I was quite bold because I figured that I could easily blame Little Bean for everything when Han Qing visits. After all, both Han Qing and Han Muzi would never be angry at Little Bean. However, now that Han Qing is here, I don’t even dare to attract any attention to myself.

Yan stood at the same spot even after Han Qing entered the apartment, which caused Han Muzi to take her hand to lead her into the house. “Let’s go in.”

“I can’t.” Yan shook her head while biting her lower lip and her eyes were rimmed red. “Muzi, my legs feel like jelly.”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words when she heard that. After a pause, she chuckled in resignation. “Well, aren’t you a tad bit too timid? Why are you so scared when he hasn’t lost his temper? What would you do in the future if this happens again? I thought you wanted to marry him?”

Yan shook her head violently. “I can’t even think about it now.” There was only one thought in her mind currently. I hope Han Qing won’t blame me. Sob, he might not want to speak to me anymore after this.

“I’m here after all,” Han Muzi had no choice but to reassure her. “I will help you if anything happens.”

Upon hearing that, a pitiful Yan finally followed Han Muzi to enter the living room. Although Han Qing was here for the first time, he treated the place like home. He openly glanced at the surroundings, as though he was checking the environment. He let out a sigh of relief after confirming that the place was much better than he expected before sitting on the couch.

Han Muzi led Yan into the living room. They were the only ones at home at that moment, so Yan hid behind Han Muzi since she lacked the courage to look into Han Qing’s eyes.

Han Muzi smiled at Han Qing. “Qing, what would you like to drink?”

Han Qing pressed his lips together and stared at his younger sister before he answered her calmly, “Some plain water, please.”

Thus, Han Muzi patted a nervous Yan, who gripped Han Muzi’s hands. “Yan, please pour a glass of water.”

Yan felt uncomfortable hanging around anyway, so she shot Han Muzi a grateful look before leaving for the kitchen immediately for a glass of water. Due to Yan’s anxiety, she almost tripped and fell. Fortunately, Yan was agile and regained her balance before making her way to the kitchen.

Han Muzi looked away and she approached Han Qing to sit beside him. “Qing.”

Han Qing looked up to observe Han Muzi. “Why do you look thinner? Didn’t he take good care of you?” There was an element of coldness in his tone, which made him sound menacing.

Han Muzi was stumped when she heard it, but she shook her head hastily while explaining on behalf of Ye Moxuan, “Qing, what are you saying? He didn’t even recognize me before. How could he possibly look after me?”

“That b*stard.” Han Qing clenched his fist and his expression turned sour. In all honesty, this was unusual since he rarely cursed.

“However, Qing, please don’t be angry. We’ve acknowledged each other now. In fact, he knows that Little Bean is his son and he treats me very well too. You—”

Han Qing laughed mirthlessly when he heard that. “Did you? Was it thanks to Little Bean? What would have happened to the both of you if Yan hadn’t brought Little Bean over?” His voice was stern and he seemed to have a strong stand regarding her weight loss.

Han Muzi’s lips parted, but she was rendered speechless. He has such a strong opinion about my weight loss. I can already imagine him destroying the place if he leanrs that I almost had a miscarriage. The thought flashed through her mind and she decided not to inform him about this matter.

“Where is he now?” Han Qing coldly asked, just as Yan walked out of the kitchen with his glass of water.
