Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 916

Song An had clearly asked for them to leave, but the two men stood there motionlessly, like two statues that were mounted in place. If the two men refused to give way, there was no way they could open the door.

“Old man, are you listening? I’ve asked you to leave, so why are you still here?”

Yuchi Jin coughed, and Yu Bo understood the signal. He took a step forward and explained while smiling, “Miss An, this was what happened. We called Young Master Xuan, but he didn’t pick up the phone. It’s the night of Chinese New Year’s Eve, and both the Old Master and I were rather worried about him, so we came to check out.”

Hearing that, Song An raised her brows. “And then?”

Yu Bo chuckled twice. “Old Master wishes to see that Young Master Xuan is safe, and he will leave after that.”

Tsk.” Song An sniggered aloud. “And if you don’t see him? Are you going to insist on staying here then?”

“I just want to wait here for my grandson to return. Is there a problem, An?” asked Yuchi Jin.

Song An intended to say something, but Han Muzi, who was at the side, seemed to understand some underlying meaning and quickly stopped Song An before taking a step forward. “There’s no problem. Grandfather, I’ll open the door. Please come in.”

Yuchi Jin finally heard someone say something pleasant, and so he snorted proudly. “At least you are tactful!”

Han Muzi could not help shaking her head inwardly before she stepped forward to open the door for Yuchi Jin and Yu Bo to enter. Yan sneaked in as well, and Han Muzi found Song An still standing at the door with a long face.

“Aunty?”

“Why did you let him go in? Today is the night of Chinese New Year’s Eve, so aren’t you asking for trouble by allowing him to stay?”

Holding her hand, she said in a gentle voice, “Aunty, don’t be mad. You too know that today is Chinese New Year’s Eve, so it would be lonely for an elderly like him to stay in a large house all by himself.”

Hearing that, Song An was stunned. Based on her words, she could easily picture Yuchi Jin staying in a large house all by himself, feeling lonely, with a variety of dishes placed in front of him but no one to talk to.

This scene was indeed pathetic.

But if that person was that old man, Yuchi Jin, Song An would not take pity on him because she found him despicable.

After all, a pathetic man certainly had something to be despised.

It was of his own doings that he became so pathetic. If he had not done what he did in the past, Song An and her sister wouldn’t have left.

Upon thinking about Song Xin, Song An’s expression became darker, and all her good moods were gone. She lowered her eyes and spoke coldly, “What’s so pitiful about him? My sister is more pitiful, since she is now buried under the freezing ground.”

Her sister…

Han Muzi was stunned as she understood that the person Song An was talking about was Ye Moxuan’s mother, who was also her mother-in-law.

As soon as Song Xin was mentioned, Song An’s aura instantly changed. Han Muzi dared not say anything, so she quietly explained, “Sorry, Aunty. I didn’t mean to let him in. I just feel that… family members are always bonded by blood.”

Hearing Han Muzi’s guilt in her voice, Song An came back to her senses.

“It’s fine. Just let it be.”

After she went in, Han Muzi stood in place for a moment before she entered.

The babysitter was supposed to come over to help, but since it was Chinese New Year’s Eve, Song An allowed her to leave earlier. She had planned to cook personally, and even the hotpot had been prepared.

But now? With Yuchi Jin here, Song An did not have the mood to do anything.

Besides, Ye Moxuan was still in the hospital, which dispirited her even more.

After the old man took his seat, he glanced around but failed to see Ye Moxuan’s figure. Hence, in a deep voice, he asked, “Where’s Xuan?”

Song An, who was sitting opposite him, replied to him in a cold voice, “Where he’s gone has nothing to do with you. Aren’t you here precisely to wait for him? Just wait for him here till he comes back and don’t ask any questions.”

Her attitude was as wicked as ever, enraging Yuchi Jin, but he dared not say anything harsh to her, so he twitched his lips and looked at Han Muzi at the side.

Han Muzi was clearing the dishes when she felt Yuchi Jin’s gaze on her. She asked, “Grandfather, Mr. Yu, you haven’t taken your dinner, right?”

Rubbing his hands together, Yu Bo grinned and nodded.

Yuchi Jin was about to say something, but when the corner of his eyes glanced at Song An, he let out a quiet snort from his nose.

As expected, before Song An could say anything, Han Muzi continued, “That’s great. We are going to have our Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner. Will the both of you join us?”

Yuchi Jin frowned as he pondered on how to reply to her, while Yu Bo nodded obediently. “Sure. I hope it won’t be too much of a trouble for you, Young Lady Ye.”

His words and honorific made Yuchi Jin furrow his brows even deeper.

What’s wrong with this guy, Yu Bo? I haven’t agreed with Han Muzi to be together with Ye Moxuan, but he’s started calling her Young Lady Ye!

Upon having such thoughts, Yuchi Jin darted a piercing gaze, which resembled a knife, at Yu Bo.

Feeling the piercing gaze that was directed at him, Yu Bo was not afraid. Instead, he beamed at Han Muzi cheerfully.

Based on my understanding of Old Master, he wouldn’t dare to tell me off before everyone now, and it seems like there’s nothing wrong for me to call her this way since Young Lady Ye is pregnant, and it would be too cruel to tear them apart.

Yan, who was clearing the dishes together with Han Muzi, looked at the two people in the living room and asked in a low voice, “Will they quarrel with each other during dinner later?”

Glancing at the living room, Han Muzi could not suppress her smile. “Probably not. Even if they do, it won’t involve us.”

Yan exclaimed, “What are you saying?!”

“Don’t worry. Didn’t you notice this—Moxuan’s grandfather listens to whatever Aunty says and he dares not say anything harsh, so they won’t quarrel with each other.”

Hearing her words, Yan carefully observed them and realized that what she said was true.

Upon seeing this, Yan felt relieved, but the next instant, she was worried for Han Muzi.

“Young Master Ye’s grandfather seems to dislike you. Is this how it has been all this while? Did he keep making things difficult for you? Did you have a hard time here alone? Muzi… I think I should just leave the company and come here to stay with you. You can tell me if you have any problems or difficulties.”

Yan felt a lump in her throat while speaking. She was Han Muzi’s best friend, so when she thought of Han Muzi staying alone abroad without anyone close around, and Young Master Ye had forgotten about her while his grandfather also kept getting in their way, she felt distressed for her.

Han Muzi was stunned. She then shook her head and stated quietly, “Come to think of it, I seldom get the chance to meet him.”

There was this one time when she was in the company, Yuchi Jin suddenly showed up and had Yu Bo hand her a cheque to ask her to leave Ye Moxuan. And during that time, she played dumb and got through it, so it seemed like there was nothing to be afraid of.

Besides, she felt that Ye Moxuan’s grandfather didn’t seem to be particularly difficult to deal with.
