Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 913

Time passed by and Han Muzi’s phone suddenly rang. She checked her phone and realized that it was Song An on the line.

Han Muzi looked slightly alarmed when she saw Song An’s name on her phone screen. Song An had planned to have a reunion dinner with them since it was Chinese New Year’s Eve and even waited at Han Muzi’s new accommodation for ages, but Ye Moxuan and Han Muzi did not return home. Song An felt anxious after waiting for so long and phoned Han Muzi.

Han Muzi collected herself before answering the phone call.

“Muzi, look at the time now. Didn’t Moxuan say that he is picking you up from the hospital? Where are you both now?”

Han Muzi scanned her surroundings before explaining helplessly, “We are in the hospital now.”

Song An hesitated before asking, “Hang on, what is wrong there? Why are the discharge procedures taking so long? Moxuan left a long time ago. Are the discharge procedures not completed yet? Are there more people due to the festivities?”

“Aunty,” Han Muzi addressed her before elaborating. “We are done with the discharge procedures, but… we are back here again.”

Song An remained silent at the other end of the line.

Han Muzi pressed her lips tightly together when there was no response from Song An. Then, she turned to her side to glance at Little Bean and the rest of the group before turning back. “One more thing—Little Bean is here.”

The doctor had just attended to Ye Moxuan when Song An arrived at the hospital. The doctor explained that Ye Moxuan had merely passed out and there was nothing wrong with his health. However, Han Muzi couldn’t help but ask with a frown, “Is he doing fine? In that case, why did he pass out all of a sudden? He was breaking out in cold sweat when we were driving him here. Besides, he looked extremely pale.”

The doctor nodded and proceeded to ask about the situation when Ye Moxuan fainted. After all, the examination revealed that Ye Moxuan’s body was in tip-top condition. Hence, the reason for his sudden fainting depended on the situation when it happened. When the doctor asked about the situation at that time, Han Muzi, Yan and Xiao Su were all in the apartment. Hence, Little Bean was the only person with Ye Moxuan outside the apartment.

Han Muzi looked at Little Bean and she waved him over. “Little Bean.”

Little Bean waited for the entire day, but his mother did not even care to embrace him. She had anxiously waited at the entrance of the emergency room upon arriving at the hospital and didn’t seem pleased about his sudden appearance. Initially, Little Bean merely felt slightly bitter about the incident, but now he was even more aggrieved because his mother only thought about him when the doctor had a question.

“Come here.” Han Muzi half-squatted while beckoning Little Bean over.

Little Bean weighed his options and thought it was the best not to be angry with his mother in public because both of them would be embarrassed in the end. Hence, he approached Han Muzi obediently. She hugged him with an arm while pinching his cheek tenderly with the other. Her voice was gentle when she asked him, “Little Bean, you’re such a good boy. What happened to your daddy when you were both outside of the apartment? Things were fine when the two of you went out. Why did he pass out suddenly?”

Little Bean blinked several times while recalling the scene from before. Daddy hugged me out of the blue, and I told him, “Hmph! Hmph! Don’t you even think for a second that I’d forgive you so easily just because you are hugging me now!” Daddy seemed fine after I said that. In fact, he caressed my cheek after the hug and his eyes filled with warmth when he looked at me again. Then, I snorted and smacked his hand away. However, Daddy’s expression changed swiftly and he frowned deeply as though he was in a lot of pain. Initially, I thought that he was pretending, but I realized that he really passed out after he collapsed on the floor.

Thus, Little Bean recollected the entire incident to the doctor. The doctor was puzzled when he heard that. “What is this? Could he have fainted due to extreme headache?”

Headache? Han Muzi had a sudden realization at the mention of Ye Moxuan’s headache, as if she seemed to have grasped something. After meeting Little Bean, who is his splitting image, Ye Moxuan had a sudden and bad headache. Could this mean that Little Bean has triggered his memories?

Apart from that possibility, Han Muzi had no other plausible explanation. She blurted out when she thought of that, “Doctor, I forgot to inform you that my husband suffered from some brain injuries and he lost his memories.”

The doctor looked shocked when he heard that. “Are you saying that he has lost his memories after suffering from brain injuries? In that case, he…” The doctor glanced at Little Bean.

Han Muzi explained, “It’s his first time meeting his son.”

The doctor understood the situation instantly. “Well, it’s no wonder that happened because we examined everything and there’s nothing wrong with him physically. He might have sustained some injuries previously, but he has recovered well from them. However, now that you’ve brought that up, my guess is that this incident must have triggered the patient’s memories. The sudden stimulation within the brain might have resulted in excruciating pain and he could have passed out when the pain was too much to bear.”

Han Muzi asked hesitantly, “In that case, does that mean… that he has regained his memories?” If this is true, wouldn’t that be a blessing in disguise?

However, the doctor shook his head. “We can’t be sure about this. Although cases of memory loss have been documented, there are no specific ways of treating it. We can only be sure whether he has regained his memories after he wakes up.”

Han Muzi felt disappointed upon hearing what the doctor said. It would be great if a trigger like this could help him regain his memories. However, if it didn’t work, it would only mean that he’d still be bothered by his lost memories. What if this happens again and he passes out due to the triggered headaches?

Yan tugged on Han Muzi’s sleeve while whispering to her, “Don’t overthink. It’s fine as long as he is doing well and wakes up later. After today’s incident, he would surely regain his memories gradually. One day, Young Master Ye would recall everything from the past.”

Right now, Han Muzi only accepted Yan’s words with a nod.

Song An finally found them and dashed across the corridor. She was stunned to see Yan, Xiao Su and Little Bean gathered here before she approached them briskly after a pause.

“Aunty,” Han Muzi greeted her.

Yan and Xiao Su nodded politely at her since they weren’t close to Song An.

Song An asked swiftly, “What happened to Moxuan? What did the doctor say?”

Han Muzi relayed the doctor’s message to Song An, after which the latter nodded. “It’s fine as long as he is well.” After that, she looked at the child, who stood nearby, before squatting down. “Little Bean, why didn’t you greet me?”

Little Bean’s large and water eyes blinked several times when he heard that. Someone is finally paying attention to me.

“Grandaunt Song…” Little Bean greeted her pitifully.

Song An’s heart went out for him when she heard that. She sighed and took Little Bean into her arms. “You are such an obedient child. My heart melted right after you greeted me.”

“Grandaunt Song…” Little Bean greeted her again since she liked it so much.

Song An smiled happily and lovingly at him while pinching his chubby cheek gently. “Why didn’t you stay in China since it’s winter time? Why did you come all the way abroad?”

Song An felt as if she was looking at Ye Moxuan when she observed the child, especially since they looked alike. Her heart melted instantly into mush.
