Xiao Su hesitated before answering, “I’m alright.”
Yan looked up at Xiao Su just when he glanced at her and their eyes met. Xiao Su turned away almost immediately. “Have you collected the tickets?”
“Haven’t we just arrived? Let’s collect our tickets now.”
The three of them approached the automated counter to collect their tickets. Yan struggled slightly when she was trying to take her phone out. Little Bean, who stood beside her, blurted out, “Aunt Yan, why don’t we keep our outerwear in the suitcase first?” The poor guy was feeling hot and stuffy.
Yan was unable to reprimand Little Bean in Xiao Su’s presence, so she turned around to grimace at Little Bean. “Be good now. You are a child, so you need to wear more layers. I wouldn’t be able to explain myself to your mom if you catch a cold.”
Little Bean pouted. “But we are going there in secret anyway. Mommy doesn’t know we are flying out to see her.”
“Well, you are meeting your mom later, aren’t you? How should I explain myself if you ended up with a cold?”
Xiao Su placed the suitcase down while they chattered away. He squatted down and started to unbutton Little Bean’s jacket.
Yan stared at him in disbelief. What is wrong with him? Is he completely ignoring me?
Xiao Su helped Little Bean out of his overcoat. After that, he folded the coat and kept it in the suitcase. Little Bean felt immediate relief and thanked Xiao Su with a bright smile, “Thank you, Mr. Xiao.”
Little Bean had always been a sweet and polite kid. In fact, he was even friendlier with those who were close to him.

Yan snorted at him. “Did I ask for your opinion? I will take it off if I feel warm!”
Xiao Su was rendered speechless by her reaction. However, he immediately looked away when their eyes met again.
Yan thought to herself angrily, This man has gone overboard. When did I offend him? Why does he look away each time he sees my face? Hang on, is there something on my face?
Yan pursed her lips at the thought of that possibility. She turned around and switched on her phone camera to check her face, noting however that there was nothing strange on her face. Why does Xiao Su look away each time he sees me?
“I will collect the tickets.” Just when Yan was hesitating, Xiao Su took her phone away.
After selecting their seats, the three of them lined up for the security check. Little Bean felt much more refreshed after taking his coat off earlier and the temperature felt just right for him.
Yan, on the other hand, felt hot and stuffy since she had been stubborn with Xiao Su earlier. Little Bean turned around to check on her several times. “Aunt Yan, do you want to take your jacket off?”
Yan had been about to do so, but after Little Bean’s comment, she immediately answered with a stern expression, “I’m not taking it off. I am feeling very cold.”
“Oh.” Little Bean squinted at her. “Aunt Yan, do you need me to get you a scarf then?”
Yan glared at him when she heard that and made a gesture, as if to teach him a lesson. However, Little Bean stuck his tongue out at her before dashing toward Xiao Su, who was in front of them.
Yan finally took her coat off after Xiao Su’s advice upon boarding the plane since the seat felt crammed and was so refreshed that she wanted to lie flat in relief.
