Everyone had already understood what she meant before she even finished her sentence. Yuchi Jin kept quiet for a moment before he abruptly commented, “Yu Bo, please bring some people to look for her around this area. If they can’t find her in this area, go somewhere farther. We have to find her.”
Yu Bo nodded as his face turned stern. “I got it, Old Master. I’ll go now.”
After Yu Bo left, Song An felt she could not remain there either and was getting ready to leave. When she walked past Yuchi Jin, he stopped her. “You’ve just got here. There’s no way you can find her by yourself.”
Song An stopped as she heard what he said. She then stared at Yuchi Jin. “So?”
“Come home with me first. Yu Bo has sent people to look for her, so we should hear from them very soon.”
Without hesitation, Song An declined Yuchi Jin’s suggestion. She responded, “No, thanks. I’m not as patient as you, who can just sit there and wait for the news.”
Yuchi Jin remained silent. He did not expect that his good intentions would be rejected. Even though he knew all along how much his daughter hated him, he still felt hurt when she treated him this way.
Han Muzi was all that Song An could think about right now. Since Han Muzi went out with her and was dragged into this because of her, she could never forgive herself if anything happened to Han Muzi. The thought of her being weak and pregnant made her anxious. She then said, “Anyway, if anything happens to Han Muzi and her baby, I’ll make the entire Yuchi family pay!” She departed immediately after finishing her sentence.
Ye Moxuan called again, and this time around, Song An answered it without any hesitation.
“Muzi?” The calm male voice came from the other end. Song An frowned and responded with a deep voice, “It’s me.”
The other end of the phone became quiet for a while before Ye Moxuan spoke again. “Aunty Song? Why is Muzi’s phone with you?”
“Here’s what happened…” Song An recounted everything that happened today to Ye Moxuan. After making sure he understood it, she continued, “I’m sorry, I didn’t expect my grievances to have caused everything that happened today. So…” Song An hesitated to tell him how she was related to the Yuchi family as she was afraid that everything would be exposed the moment she told him. However, looking at how things had unfolded, she might not have a choice. When she talked about the Yuchi family, she merely mentioned that there were some personal grievances between them in the past and nothing more.
Song An thought that Ye Moxuan would ask her about her relationship with the Yuchi family, but he did not.
“I understand. I will immediately send someone to find her.” Ye Moxuan immediately gave George a call after that.
Right at this point, George was treating Rory to a feast to fulfill his promise that for the next month he would be buying her meals every day.
George’s phone rang the moment the food was served. He quickly answered it when he saw that it was Ye Moxuan. “I wonder what’s going on today that you’d—” Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted. The look on his face gradually changed as he listened to what he said. In the end, he looked completely horrified.
Rory, who was sitting across from him, saw it and could not help but ask him after he hung up the phone, “What happened?”
Rory’s voice brought George back to his senses. Thinking about the task that he was about to carry out, he let out an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, I can’t eat with you today. All the food’s here, so if you want something more feel free to order more from the menu. Just remember to put it on my tab.”
Rory put down her chopsticks instead. “You haven’t told me what happened. Is it something serious?”
Her words annoyed George. “Yes, it’s pretty serious, and I need to go and help out now!” George stood up right away.
Seeing that, Rory also stood up with him. “I’ll go with you.” She could not afford to stay there and eat while George looked so worried and was ready to leave. Even though she was an avid eater, she still knew how she should respond under certain circumstances.
“Ah?” George was stunned for a moment. “You’d like to go with me?”
“Of course, many hands make light work. Don’t you need help? Don’t think I’m useless just because I’m a woman. I can help in many ways.”
George responded, “So you’re not planning on eating the food?”
“Forget the food. It’s more important to help you out! I’m not a heartless person.”
Looking at her sincere face and thinking about her relationship with Han Muzi, George didn’t think it would be a problem to bring her along. He contemplated for a few moments and nodded. “Sure, you can come with me, but please don’t jump in if anything dangerous happens.”
Dangerous? Rory gave it some thought and replied, “No problem. I’m good at escaping and no one can run faster than me.”
George was amused. “It sounds like you’re constantly on the run.”
“Who said I wasn’t?” Rory mumbled.
“What?”
Rory realized she had misspoken, so she quickly explained, “I didn’t mean it. Aren’t we supposed to go now? Let’s go.”
As the two were leaving the restaurant, they were stopped by the waiter the moment they stepped out of the cubicle. “Young Master George, this…”
“We have something urgent, so we have to go now. Put this on my tab, and you all can eat everything that’s on the table. It’s on me.”
The server was stunned and immediately put on a happy look. “Thank you, Young Master George.”
…
Ouch… When Han Muzi woke up, the back of her neck was in serious pain. As she was subconsciously trying to lift her head and reach the back of her neck, she found that her hands were unable to move. She tried to wriggle but she noticed that her hands had been tied up. She quickly opened her eyes, only to see a completely strange environment. She found herself lying on the floor with both of her hands and legs tied up, unable to move.
Han Muzi’s memory came gushing back like a tide, and she finally remembered what happened before this. She was at a restaurant with Song An and went to use the bathroom halfway through. When she came out of the bathroom, she ran into the people who were inviting Song An and her over that morning. Before she could respond, she was hit by someone else and passed out.
Did they kidnap me?
Han Muzi let out a sigh of relief. If it were them, they were probably using her as leverage to threaten Song An to go back to the Yuchi residence. Therefore, she should not be in any danger. But why did they have to tie her up? It hurts…
Han Muzi frowned. The more she struggled, the tighter it got.
At this moment, a faint female voice came from behind as she struggled to escape. “Stop trying to escape. That’s a dead knot. You might be able to get out of it if you could use your hands to untie it. But I don’t think you can do that now, can you? It only gets tighter the more you try to escape.”
This voice… Han Muzi stopped moving and turned around.
