This man. He always likes to be direct about it. Han Muzi felt that if she kept on talking with him, she would be the one taken advantage of. Hence, she cut off the conversation right on time and changed the subject. “Let’s go back home first.”
The supermarket wasn’t far away from her community, so that was probably why Ye Moxuan could find her.
However, Han Muzi was still worried. After all, she went out early in the morning, and according to the call from Ye Moxuan, she didn’t know whether he had done something about it. What should I do if he asks me? What should I say? Should I just tell him the truth?
Han Muzi pursed her lips as she seemed to be lost in her thoughts when being dragged forward by Ye Moxuan. She thought to herself, Actually… I don’t have anything to hide from him on purpose since these are all his past memories that he has lost. If… he really notices or remembers something… speaking the truth doesn’t seem that bad at all.
Ye Moxuan came by car, so he brought Han Muzi into his car, but when he saw her entering the car heavy-hearted, he stretched his hand out to block her head from colliding with the doorframe.
Meanwhile, Han Muzi was still thinking about the matter when all of a sudden, she felt a warm breath closing in on her. When she came back around, she suddenly saw his handsome face enlarged right in front of her.
She was shocked.
Han Muzi was taken aback by the handsome face inches away from her while she breathed heavily. “W-What are you doing?”
He squinted his narrow eyes slightly, forming a beautiful arc. Then, Ye Moxuan quirked up his thin lips. “Seatbelt.”
After that, he reached out to help her put on the seatbelt.
Just as he was finished, he didn’t back away; instead, he got even closer. Both of them were able to smell each other’s breath.
“What are you in a daze for?”
Han Muzi was speechless at first. “Nothing,” she said while turning her head away to divert her sight.
The next second, Ye Moxuan squeezed her chin and forcefully turned her head back. Now, Han Muzi had to look at his eyes.
“W-What are you doing?” Because he was now very close to her, Han Muzi could even see the fine hair on his face, which made her think of last night’s heart-pounding scene. Then, her heart started throbbing in her body relentlessly, as if it was trying to burst out.
“Nothing? Look at you now.” Ye Moxuan lowered his voice as it became husky. “How many times have you drifted away while thinking about last night?”
Han Muzi’s face suddenly flushed red, then she stretched her hand out to push him away. “What nonsense are you talking about? Hurry up and drive your car.”
As soon as she pushed him away, she quickly turned to face the car window because she didn’t dare to look at Ye Moxuan in the eye.
After a moment of silence in the car, the car finally departed.
Soon after, the two of them were back at home. The first thing Han Muzi did after coming back was taking off her shoes before dashing to the kitchen without even uttering a word to Ye Moxuan.
Due to her quick pace, she felt the pain on her lower body and frowned, causing her walking posture to become weird. She didn’t dare to stop because of the fiery eyes staring at her from behind, so she could only hold on to the pain and walk into the kitchen casually. Then, she closed the kitchen door with a bang.
Bang! Seeing this scene and hearing the closing kitchen door from the entrance, Ye Moxuan unconsciously touched his nose. The door is so far away, but why do I have a feeling that it was slammed in my nose?
After closing the kitchen door, Han Muzi finally felt that she had her own personal space, and the facade that she had been maintaining could finally fade away at once. Then, she rubbed her waist and moved forward with difficulty.
She placed the bags on the table and untied all of them one at a time before putting the groceries in the fridge.
She had spent the whole morning for the medical check-up, so she hadn’t eaten her breakfast yet. It would be too late for her to cook porridge now; therefore, she decided to cook noodles.
Han Muzi started the fire to boil the water. Then, she took out a ball of noodles from the bag. She bought it just now from the supermarket, and she would add some simple ingredients to it later.
After the water was boiled, she added the noodles into it.
At this moment, she heard the door creak, and later on, steady footsteps came from behind. Han Muzi felt a thump in her heart, but she quickly composed herself.
Then, her waist was wrapped around by a big hand while the huge man hugged her from behind. He lowered his head gently to lean on her shoulder. “Why did you leave this morning without sleeping for a few more minutes?” he asked in a hoarse voice.
Han Muzi was rendered speechless. He finally asked.
Just when she was hesitant on what to answer him, she felt a sudden softness on her neck.
Ye Moxuan gently kissed her neck with his thin lips and murmured, “I thought that you regretted it.”
What? Han Muzi thought she had mistaken his words. Did he say that he thought I regretted it?
Thinking about it, she blinked her eyes. “How could I… regret it?”
However, when she thought of it, it would be weird for him not to imagine things when realizing that she was gone early in the morning without leaving a word, especially after what happened last night. If she were the one left behind, her mind would’ve been a muddled mess right now.
Han Muzi avoided his kiss by turning away. “About last night… what actually happened?”
When she mentioned last night, a trace of hostility flashed through Ye Moxuan’s eyes, but he didn’t follow up.
Meanwhile, Han Muzi asked hesitantly, “Last night… didn’t your grandfather ask you to go back? Why did you come back…”
She was now suspicious of how he was drugged. Did… his grandfather know about this too?
Seeing her lost in her thoughts, Ye Moxuan reached out to comb her hair to the back of her head before replying to her in a deep voice, “You don’t need to worry about it. I will handle it myself.”
She bit her lower lip. “Last night, before you went out, you told me to wait for you. At the end—”
“At the end, I came back, didn’t I?” Ye Moxuan cut her off. “Even though I was drugged, I still came back, didn’t I?”
Han Muzi looked at him for a moment while biting her lips. “What a lame argument.”
Even though he came back, I was still worried about him, especially after such a serious matter. Also, under such a dangerous situation like last night, what if he didn’t come back? Then would he… As she thought about it, Han Muzi said to him, “I guess if it weren’t for George, you probably wouldn’t have come back.”
“I would’ve,” Ye Moxuan answered her firmly, leaving her dumbfounded. “I would’ve come back even if it weren’t for George. I can guarantee it.”
Han Muzi stared at him in daze since she didn’t expect such a reaction from him. She remained silent while Ye Moxuan caressed her cheek with his huge hand, and his gaze softened. “Last night must have been tiring for you. Have a proper rest at home today and don’t go to the company.”
