Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 866

Han Muzi noticed that as well. Not only did the warmth in Song An’s gaze vanish completely at the mention of Yuchi Jin, the temperature around her rapidly dropped as well.

She wouldn’t show such a drastic change if it weren’t for an extreme turn of emotions. Han Muzi was suddenly curious at Song An’s change of emotions. I wonder what transpired between Old Master Yuchi, Yuchi Xin and Yuchi An. Why did both sisters leave the old man all alone without ever coming back home? Besides, it has been so many years, but she has not forgiven the old man over the years.

Song An’s resentment toward him is still there. However, no matter how curious I am, I wouldn’t dare to ask about it since I’m much younger than her. Furthermore, I don’t think the issue is as simple as that and it is most probably a sore point for Song An. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been conflicted and it wouldn’t have taken her so long before she agreed to fly over.

When she thought of that, Han Muzi stated in a quiet tone, “I am very grateful for you to fly all the way here, Aunty Song. You can tell me if there are any difficulties at all. I would never force you to do anything that you are uncomfortable with.” This is my problem after all. I wouldn’t have asked Song An for help if I did not run out of ideas.

Song An smiled faintly when she heard that and the warmth flashed in her eyes again. She glanced at Han Muzi before reaching out to caress the back of her head. “You’re such a good girl. I appreciate your consideration of my feelings. However, I am fine. Since I am here, some things… should be dealt with after all.” Escaping is not the best solution. I would like to see what else the old man has up his sleeves and when he will stop pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

Song An asked abruptly as if she was reminded of something, “I heard that… you’re pregnant?”

Han Muzi’s expression changed at the mention of her pregnancy, but she nodded swiftly. “Moxuan doesn’t know about that yet.”

“That little brat would have forgotten about everything even if he knew anyway. Such a heartless man.”

“It’s not his fault. After all… Under such circumstances, I’m just grateful he survived.”

“You are rather good at finding excuses for him. I would have had him beaten up if he were my man. I’d like to show him what a wife signifies.”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words. Who would have thought that Aunty Song is such a fierce woman?

The walk wasn’t too far and they arrived at the car soon enough. Since everyone wasn’t too far apart, Han Muzi and Song An stopped chatting about matters regarding Ye Moxuan. They merely chatted about the location for dinner later.

After getting into the car, Han Muzi noticed that Ye Moxuan did not eat anything from the bag of bread from before. It meant that he had not eaten anything after work or even had a sip of water. Suddenly, Han Muzi was unsure on what to feel. He didn’t complain, and he even gave me his coat just now.

Ye Moxuan was driving when he glanced at Song An, who was seated in the back passenger seat, from the corners of his eyes. “Aunty Song, what would you like to eat?” Since Han Muzi addressed her as Aunty Song, he figured he would address her similarly as well.

Song An was in a slight daze when she heard him address her as Aunty Song, but she snapped back to her senses soon enough. “I’m alright with anything. Why don’t you ask Muzi?”

Han Muzi, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, answered promptly when she heard that, “I’m fine. It’s up to you.”

Ye Moxuan kept quiet after that. After pondering for a while, he parked the car in front of a Chinese-Western fusion hotel. He unfastened his seatbelt while explaining to them, “This hotel is under the Yuchi Group. There’s a combination of Chinese and Western food, so feel free to order anything you like later.”

Han Muzi couldn’t help but feel moved by his attentiveness while she unfastened her seatbelt.

After getting out of the car, Song An stood still by the car before looking up and stared at the majestic-looking hotel with stoicism. After a while, a mirthless smile stretched across her face.

“Aunty Song?” It was when Han Muzi called Song An that she snapped back to reality and the coldness in her expression vanished; it was replaced with a warm smile. “I was just observing the hotel’s exterior. Let’s go in.”

So many years have passed since I last stepped into this place! Everyone she met along the way was a stranger and no one recognized her. It’s true that time can change everything. Certain things might still remain the same, but no one here is the same anymore.

Dinner only ended at 9pm since they chatted throughout the meal. After dinner, Han Muzi took her phone out to book a hotel, but a pair of large hands stopped her. Ye Moxuan suggested with a deep voice, “Aunty Song has spent such a long time on the plane. Why don’t she rest in one of the rooms upstairs tonight?”

This was a hotel after all, and so it was only natural that it provided both accommodation and food. Han Muzi recalled with a start when she heard that. That’s right. This hotel is under the Yuchi Family. I wonder if Song An might resist the idea of staying here.

When she considered the possibility, Han Muzi glanced at Song An. “Aunty Song?”

Song An knew what Han Muzi’s concerns were, but she merely smiled slightly. “Sure. I’m exhausted after traveling today. I’ll just book a room here to rest.”

Seeing as she agreed to his suggestion, Ye Moxuan summoned a staff member and he instructed them to prepare a VIP suite for Song An. “Aunty Song, please speak to the hotel manager if you need anything at all,” he assured her.

“Thank you, both of you have worked hard today. You should go home and rest earlier too.”

After that, the hotel manager brought Song An away to her room. Han Muzi followed Ye Moxuan down, but her phone vibrated along the way. Hence, she waited until he left to drive the car over before taking her phone out. It’s a message from Aunty Song.

Han Muzi glanced at the parking site before taking the initiative to phone Song An. “Aunty Song.”

“Mm-hmm,” Song An answered. “I don’t suppose Yuchi Jin has made a move yet for now? Let’s just observe in the next few days. Inform me immediately if there are any changes.”

Han Muzi agreed straight away, “Sure.” After the phone call, she kept her phone and waited for Ye Moxuan at the roadside.

The staff in the hotel recognized Yuchi Shen and they were especially respectful toward him, but they couldn’t help but gaze at Han Muzi’s back view in envy since he brought her here in person. They observed her and chatted about her in hushed tones as she waited at the roadside.

Soon, Ye Moxuan drove over and Han Muzi got into his car. It was quiet in the car and they soon arrived at the accommodation Ye Moxuan prepared for her.

Han Muzi recalled his attitude toward Song An today and it seemed as if it triggered some of his memories. Hence, she stole a glance at him. However, she suddenly realized that Ye Moxuan had pursed his lips while staring at her. He gave her a meaningful look, which shook Han Muzi to her core. Why is he looking at me like that? Did he notice something? Does he know that I’m planning something?

As a result, Han Muzi looked rather sheepishly at him and stammered, “W-What is it?”

Ye Moxuan’s eyes twinkled with a smile. “In all honesty, you didn’t have to do that.”

“Huh?”

“If this happens again, just inform me that I’ll be meeting your elder and I will come along with you.”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words. Suddenly, she realized that she was rendered speechless by his statement. Did Ye Moxuan regard this as meeting the elder since he thought that Song An is my aunt?

“Besides, I would have presented myself in a better light if you had informed me in advance.”
