Yeah. Why?
Duanmu Zhe couldn’t fathom her reason for doing this.
Han Muzi drooped her eyelids and looked at her fingertips.
“I’ve never lost my memories before, so I don’t know how it feels like. But… if one day, I woke up to realize that I don’t even know who I am, and that I don’t recognize everyone around me, I would be so helpless.”
Though she said it in a matter-of-fact kind of tone, George felt sorry for her upon hearing that.
“Even though there would be someone who would always take care of me and tell me who I was and who they were, my entire life would have to be arranged by someone else. When I would see a person, I would have no idea who they were, and I would have to rely on other people to let me know. Would you want a life like this?”
When she finished her last sentence, she raised her head to look at George and Duanmu Zhe with a pair of clear eyes that were void of all impurities. The expression in her eyes made it clear enough.
Hence, when Duanmu Zhe and George looked at each other, they both saw the unwillingness reflected in their eyes.
Who would want a life that would be arranged by someone else when one was still coherent?
Unless they had reached the stage where they couldn’t remember anything at all.
“Initially, it was already bad enough that he has lost his memory. If I still want to force him to marry me, wouldn’t he be more miserable? There wouldn’t be any part of him left if that happened.”
George suddenly understood why Han Muzi didn’t tell Ye Moxuan about her identity in the beginning.
“Muzi, you really have his best interests in mind. Sob, I’m so touched!”
With that, George covered his face and pretended to cry miserably, and he even leaned toward Duanmu Zhe.
When his face leaned on Duanmu Zhe’s shoulders, his expression changed slightly. “Don’t lean on me.”
“Sob! I’m so touched that I can’t stop crying. What about you?”
Duanmu Zhe didn’t reply to him.
He tried to restrain his temper as he smiled evilly at George. “If you continue to lean on me, I will ask you to be responsible for this. Do you believe me?”
George remained silent upon hearing that.
After being stunned for half a second, he sat up and looked at Duanmu Zhe with an exasperated expression.
“Damn it! You’re too cruel! I was just leaning against your shoulder. Did you have to be so disgusted?”
Duanmu Zhe smiled coldly, “Who disgusts who now?”
Han Muzi, who was watching them, paused for a while before asking, “Were you guys listening to me?”
“Yes, of course!” George nodded immediately and sat up straight. “Muzi, what should we do next?”
Han Muzi looked at Duanmu Zhe. “I can’t promise your request for me to marry him soon. On top of that, if your sister would stop after we got married, what happened today wouldn’t have taken place.”
Upon hearing that, Duanmu Zhe frowned. “Do you have a better suggestion, then?”
Han Muzi shook her head. “No.”
Hearing that, Duanmu Zhe’s frown deepened.
“This matter seems to have nothing to do with me. Your sister has done the wrong thing, so why do I have to take the responsibility? Even if you want to stop her from thinking this way, this has nothing to do with me either.”
Han Muzi looked fixedly at the handsome man in front of her, who had a pair of vixen-like eyes. “You seem to be a decent guy. You should know that you shouldn’t force people into doing anything that they don’t want.”
Han Muzi wondered if it was her illusion, but after she finished this sentence, Duanmu Zhe, who was opposite to her, had a sinister look flitting across his eyes. However, it disappeared in just a second, and the smile was still on his face.
“You are right. I shouldn’t force you to do anything. Since you guys have no plans to get married soon, I have nothing else to say.”
With that, Duanmu Zhe stood up. “I still have some other business to attend to in the company. I’ll take my leave first.”
George chirped, “Let’s go, let’s go!”
Before Duanmu Zhe left, he turned around to look at Han Muzi. After a second thought, he still uttered, “Don’t be too stubborn.”
After he had left, George couldn’t help himself from complaining, “What the hell? Muzi, he said that you are stubborn. What did he mean by that?”
At this moment, the waiter sent the juice over. Han Muzi swirled it around as she looked at the pretty colors in the glass and smiled. “Let him say whatever he likes. But why did you arrive together with him?”
George said, “It was all because of Duanmu Xue; I hadn’t contacted him in a century.”
Upon hearing that, Han Muzi glanced at him. “A century? How old are you now?”
Hearing Han Muzi’s jokes, George seemed to be a little embarrassed. His ears turned red, and he shook his head. “Muzi, let me tell you one thing—Duanmu Xue might have some mental problems. Hence, in the future, we have to be more careful around her.”
Mental problems?
Han Muzi could also feel that something was wrong with Duanmu Xue because she felt completely different compared to the last time they met. She had a fierce and cruel aura on her, and she was extremely competitive.
When they met for the first time, Duanmu Xue wasn’t like this.
Thinking of this, Han Muzi pursed her lips and nodded.
“Duanmu Zhe already told me that he would provide some therapy sessions to Duanmu Xue, but he couldn’t guarantee its effectiveness. That was why he wanted you to get married to Yuchi so that his sister could stop thinking about him.”
Han Muzi took a sip of her drink. “I will marry him; I just don’t want to do that because of other people.”
She wanted them to get married just because they felt like it. If it was because of some other reason, she would rather they never get married.
“Muzi, I support you!” George exclaimed, as if he was Han Muzi’s fan.
“Let’s go back.”
Han Muzi took a few sips of the juice before going back to the company. George followed behind her to look for Ye Moxuan together.
As Han Muzi didn’t take the assigned elevator, she met Rory in the elevator.
As soon as George saw Rory, his eyes lit up, and he walked to her immediately and pinned her against the wall.
“Hello, pretty lady. Do you still remember me?”
Rory was shocked to see that.
Pretending that she didn’t see him, Rory rolled her eyes internally and looked the other way. Meanwhile, George, who was ignored, felt hurt and looked at Han Muzi.
“Has my charm disappeared? Why does she not have any reaction upon seeing me doing this to her?”
Han Muzi saw this scene unfold with an amused expression and did not reply to him.
She knew that George didn’t have any malicious intentions and that he wasn’t frivolous, so she ignored him.
However, Rory retaliated immediately, “Your charm has disappeared? Since when have you had any charm?”
George was speechless upon hearing that.
F*ck!
He felt as if his heart had been stabbed by countless needles. It was one thing to say that his charm had disappeared, but the beautiful lady directly said that he had no charm to begin with!
George gritted his teeth. “How dare you say that I have no charm? You haven’t seen my abs, have you?”
His abs? When Rory heard that, her ears immediately became red.
“Who wants to see your abs?”
When he saw her blushing, George couldn’t help himself from teasing her and revealed an evil grin. “Sweetie, after you see it, you’ll feel that I’m freaking charming and irresistible!”
With that, he slowly lifted his shirt in front of Rory to show her his abs.
Rory’s expression changed immediately. Just when she was about to scream, the elevator door opened with a ding.
Ye Moxuan stood outside the elevator with a dark expression on his face.
