He was taken aback by the turn of events as he regarded the sly look in the woman’s eyes. Then, he couldn’t help but quirk the corners of his lips slightly. Sure enough, this woman must be different from others to be able to attract Young Master. I should have believed in Young Master’s words when he said he wouldn’t give up on the one he loved. How can someone whom he spoke so firmly of give up simply and leave with the money?
“Grandfather, do you want some tea? I’ll go get you a cup of tea, alright?”
Yuchi Jin bellowed at her angrily, “You’re not allowed to call me grandfather!”
Han Muzi blinked with an innocent face. “Why? You have already handed me your first-meeting gift, so it’d be rude of me not to call you ‘grandfather’.”
“I gave you the money because—” Before he could finish his words, Han Muzi turned away to make some tea. The rest were left in the secretary room while looking at each other.
A moment later, Yuchi Jin looked at the housekeeper. “Where has she gone?”
The housekeeper blinked as he recalled the conversation just now, then he replied to him tentatively, “Maybe… she went to make some tea for you, Old Master Yuchi?”
Yuchi Jin remained silent. “What tea? Do you think I’ll drink her tea?”
The housekeeper covered his lips and coughed softly. “I can see that this little girl is smart.”
His praise upset Yuchi Jin. After all, he only wanted Duanmu Xue to be his granddaughter-in-law even at this moment. As he listened to him, Yuchi Jin let out a cold grunt. “That girl. How dare she play her little tricks in front of me! Not only does she want to keep the money, she also wants to take advantage of me. There’s no such good deal in this world!”
His tone was so strong that even the housekeeper was getting worried. Old Master Yuchi was an experienced and shrewd old man, who had been in the business world for more than ten years, while Han Muzi was only a young girl. As a housekeeper, he wouldn’t dare to say much, so he quietly stepped aside and remained silent.
“She is trying to play word games with me. Yu Bo, when she comes back later, tell her I won’t drink her tea. If she knows better, she will leave the company on her own accord; otherwise, I will drive her out of the company myself.”
The housekeeper remained quiet as he found it hard to say his concerns. He didn’t want to do it, but… he had no other choice.
After a while, Han Muzi came back with a cup of tea. The tea was steaming hot when she took it to the front of Old Master Yuchi. Then, she bent over to place the tea on the table. “Grandfather, I’ve just made this for you. If you don’t mind, you can have a try.”
Even though she really minded that Ye Moxuan’s grandfather wiped away their past and set him up to be engaged with other people because he didn’t want them to be together, he was still Ye Moxuan’s family after all. Not only that, he was his grandfather. Naturally, she hoped to gain his trust because she didn’t want her love with Ye Moxuan to be opposed or not to be blessed by an elder. In this world, there were many couples who were not favored by their elders, and they couldn’t even get a blessing from them, which was very upsetting.
Yuchi Jin stared at that cup of tea and let out a cold grunt; he didn’t even reach out to touch it. However, its scent still got its way into his nose since the cup was so close to him.
When he smelled the thick fragrance of the tea, he could feel his taste bud tingling. Yuchi Jin loved tea; everybody knew about it. Han Muzi didn’t have ample time to prepare, so she could only seize every chance she got.
“Yu Bo!” Yuchi Jin called the housekeeper.
Yu Bo came back around and fixed his eyes on the Old Master before looking at the cup of tea again. Then, he walked up to her resignedly. “Miss, since you’ve already accepted the check, it’s better for you to leave the company. It’ll be more decent for you to leave now while the matter isn’t serious yet to avoid…”
Han Muzi answered him with a grunt and looked toward Yuchi Jin. “Grandfather, are you giving me a day off?”
Yuchi Jin and the housekeeper were rendered speechless.
A while later, Yuchi Jin let out a cold grunt. “Yu Bo, you don’t need to be polite about it. Just cut to the chase.”
Yu Bo nodded firmly and took a step forward before speaking emphatically, “Miss Han, our Old Master has stated that you should immediately leave the company and the Young Master of the Yuchi family as soon as you accept the money. The money in the check is already enough for you to live the rest of your life worry-free. If you don’t know what’s good for you, the Yuchi family will take on tougher methods to make you leave. By that time, you would suffer minor physical pain if you’re lucky. But if it’s serious… I won’t put my bet on it.”
His words were direct. Yuchi Jin then glanced at Yu Bo with approval while his face showed his satisfaction.
Logically, after how clear they had stated to her, Han Muzi should just leave with the money if she was thin-skinned. However, she didn’t. Instead, she was still smiling while standing by the table. “Actually, I have the ability to make enough money, so you don’t need to worry about how I’m going to provide for myself, grandfather. And also… I thought that this check was a meeting gift by you, but since it is not, then I can’t accept it.”
With that, she placed the envelope back on the table.
Everybody was taken aback as they didn’t expect her to return the envelope. This was equivalent to returning the money to Old Master Yuchi and stating that she wouldn’t leave Yuchi Shen for money. Yu Bo became even more satisfied with her while looking at her.
However, Yuchi Ji’s face darkened, and he spoke fiercely, “What do you mean? How dare you return my money back to me after accepting it!”
Han Muzi smiled gently. “Grandfather, unless you say that this is your meeting gift to me, or else I won’t accept this money.”
Then, Yuchi Jin squinted his eyes. Ever since he first saw her, she wasn’t overbearing, and she didn’t show any trace of fear for him. She was calm and adaptable when dealing with the situation.
This personality of hers really surprised him. Yuchi Jin had always admired this kind of woman since they were better than those who cried and panicked at first sight of trouble. What a shame!
“Did you open the envelope when you were making tea?” Yuchi Jin asked in a low voice. Yet, before she could reply to him, he asked again, “Are you saying that I didn’t give you enough? Then tell me how much you want. As long as you’re willing to leave my grandson, I’ll give you as much as you want.”
He was generous with his words, as if he was willing to give away everything for his grandson.
Han Muzi raised her eyebrows. Then, she couldn’t help but ask, “Grandfather, are you saying that you will give me anything as long as I’m willing to leave him?”
Yuchi Jin looked at her with displeasure while he answered her firmly.
However, Yu Bo noticed that something was wrong. He felt that the woman in front of him was no ordinary little girl who could be swayed that easily, and also, her expression now… showed that she didn’t actually want anything.
Sure enough, the words that came out of her mouth a second later almost put everyone in shock. “Grandfather, I don’t want much, but since you are willing to give away everything, then I’ll take the whole Yuchi residence.”
