Meanwhile, in the Yuchi residence, after the incident of the call from Yuchi Jin, Ye Moxuan decided to not go back with Han Muzi for the time being. If he spent his time outside for too long, it might raise the suspicion of his grandfather.
It wasn’t easy for George to cover up for him, so he had to at least put on an act.
He had just been together with Han Muzi recently, and their relationship wasn’t stable yet. If something were to happen, he wasn’t sure whether she would be scared off.
“You’re back.”
“Grandfather.”
Yuchi Jin looked at his grandson before him with his pair of dark, piercing eyes. This grandson of his looked a lot like his mother, especially the determination in their eyes, which made them look exactly the same.
Whenever he saw Yuchi Shen going against him unrelentingly, Yuchi Jin felt as though he was able to see his eldest daughter standing before him again.
However, the thought about his elder daughter made his heart ache. Then, he suddenly remembered what that girl, Duanmu Xue, said to him. Looking at Yuchi Shen, he ordered, “You, come to the study with me.”
It was impossible for Ye Moxuan to not notice the pain and frustration in Yuchi Jin’s eyes. He looked at his grandfather’s back view and squinted his eyes.
All this while, grandfather had never looked at me with that expression. Did something happen?
Nevertheless, Ye Moxuan calmly followed him from behind, and they entered the study together.
After entering the study, Yuchi Jin asked Ye Moxuan to close the door behind him while he sat down, and Ye Moxuan did so.
Ye Moxuan didn’t start the conversation as he knew that Yuchi Jin must have a lot of things to tell or ask him. The moment he made up his mind to be together with Han Muzi, he had already thought about how he would answer to Yuchi Jin as well as all the possible questions that Yuchi Jin would ask.
“Xuan, can you tell me why you are not willing to get engaged with Xue?” His voice sounded old and exhausted. Ye Moxuan’s thin lips twitched, and he looked up to meet his grandfather’s old, cloudy and dark eyes.
Why?
With his thin lips pursed, he answered in a cold voice, “I don’t like her.”
He told Yuchi Jin about his attitude in a very straightforward manner, using only these four words. Yuchi Jin initially thought that Ye Moxuan would give him an explanation and then he would have the chance to counter Ye Moxuan’s arguments. But, unexpectedly, Ye Moxuan was able to stop everything he had planned to say by using only four words.
Instantly, Yuchi Jin pulled a long face.
“If you don’t like her, whom do you like?”
As he asked the sharp question, Yuchi Jin’s presence became domineering. It seemed that if Ye Moxuan said the name, he would use the walking stick in his hand to knock on his head.
Nonetheless, the person before Yuchi Jin was Ye Moxuan.
Ye Moxuan had always been wild and intractable; he was never afraid of such matters.
He twitched his lips and coldly uttered, “The point is that I won’t get engaged with her. Though I’m your grandson, I don’t want my marriage to be controlled by you.”
“You little brat, do you think I will harm you? Tell me the truth. Have you been seeing someone in secret?”
Anger flashed across Ye Moxuan’s eyes, but it disappeared the next instant. Without waiting for him to reply, Yuchi Jin cast a penetrating gaze at him. “I heard rumors that there’s an employee that keeps pestering you, and she likes you. Is this true?”
Ye Moxuan twitched his lips. “You knew about all this the whole time, didn’t you?”
“Yes. I’ve always known that there are many women who like you, but you ignore them all. However, I heard rumors that you treat this woman differently. Why? Are you enchanted by this woman?”
Hearing that, Ye Moxuan frowned involuntarily and chuckled. “Enchanted? Grandfather, haven’t you ever fallen in love when you were young?”
Yuchi Jin was stunned and didn’t say anything.
Ye Moxuan continued saying, “I’m not an emotionless and heartless cold-blooded animal. It’s normal for me to fall in love with someone; I’m not enchanted by anyone.”
He said such words to Yuchi Jin with a serious expression and attitude. If he didn’t bother to explain, deny, or even give some explanation, Yuchi Jin wouldn’t take this matter seriously.
What about now? Ye Moxuan said this so seriously, and he even took his younger self as an example.
What could this prove? This grandson of his was serious.
Upon having such thoughts, Yuchi Jin started to take this matter seriously. Immediately, he got up from his seat and gazed at Ye Moxuan.
“Who is it? Who can make you behave this way?”

Han Muzi’s face easily appeared in his mind, especially her pair of pure and flawless eyes.
She had left a deep impression on him, no matter what she did.
Seeing that Ye Moxuan remained silent, Yuchi Jin started to feel nervous. “So what I heard from other people is true? You really treat that girl specially? And you allow her to enter your office as she pleases?”
Ye Moxuan raised his pitch-black eyes. “Grandfather, was it Duanmu Xue who told you this?
“As long as the outcome is the same, you don’t need to care who told me all this. Looks like… it’s true that you are seeing someone. No wonder… you didn’t come back to eat together with me a few days ago. No wonder you are not willing to get engaged!”
Looking at the anger in his eyes, Ye Moxuan casually stated, “My engagement is not anybody’s business. Even if I’m not seeing her, I won’t be together with Duanmu Xue.”
Her feelings for him made him feel uncomfortable.
“Heh, do you think I would believe such nonsense?” Yuchi Jin immediately gave him an order. “She cannot continue working there, so you must throw that woman out of the company tomorrow. Our family cannot allow just anybody to latch onto us. You need to consider their family background. What if all she wants is your status and money? You are still young, so you need to listen to me. You must fire her tomorrow and give her some money so that she won’t continue to pester you.”
Such pointy words…
Ye Moxuan’s expression became cold, and in an upset tone, he growled, “She is not that kind of a person.”
Yuchi Jin coldly snorted. “I’m old, so I’m definitely more experienced than you are. These kinds of girls who have just started working prefer to pursue vanity. They have little life experience and no background, but they want to latch onto the rich. You were silly to have fallen for this woman’s enchantment. You must throw her out of the company tomorrow!”
Yuchi Jin was determined.
Ye Moxuan looked down. His eyelids covered his dark and deep eyes, and he kept his hostility in.
Even though he was his grandfather, the way he spoke of her still upset him.
He believed in himself; the woman he chose would not be this kind of a person.
“Did you listen to what I just said?”
Ye Moxuan raised his head, and his eyes were dark. “What if I don’t?”
